21.01.2022 This winter, put a hold on hibernation with more than 30 unique events throughout the Margaret River region. www.cabinfeverfest.com.au
21.01.2022 One place where winter is relished more than most is Arimia Margaret River, an almost entirely self-sufficient vineyard, working farm, and restaurant set in the... charming back blocks of Wilyabrup. Sustainable and local might be buzzwords, but this is one place youll find genuine commitment to the practice of growing and serving food from their own backyard. Anything Arimia dont grow or rear themselves they source from a few small local growers and farmers. Heres their guide to winter produce. Tim Campbell
20.01.2022 With winter officially coming to a close what better than to sign off with a photograph that encapsulates all that is beautiful about the colder months! The dra...matic and rugged coastline of the Margaret River region is a photographers paradise with natural formations like Sugarloaf Rock providing talented folk like @dwausphotos here the opportunity to capture the first point of contact winter storms have with Western Australia as they roll in over the Indian Ocean. With ever changing conditions no two days, or even two hours are the same! If you think a storm is going to put a dampener on your hiking plans then think again because these are arguably the most beautiful times to come across some absolute gold like this. See more

20.01.2022 Reposting The Margaret River Region: Nope, that's not some hidden cove on the Mediterranean coast, it's one of our favourite places to enjoy the beach in the Ma...rgaret River region, Hamelin Bay! The next time you find yourself strolling along the shoreline in this magical part of Australia's South West be sure to check what's around the next corner because you might just find yourself in your own private paradise. 19.01.2022 Towering above the Cape Naturaliste coastline Sugarloaf Rock is one of the first things you'll notice when you visit the north western tip of the Margaret River... region. Holding her position against ferocious storms and powerful swells for over 600 million years the rock has stood the test of time, however one thing that has constantly changed is the conditions you can view this beautiful piece of granite amongst. Photographer @philipscrimgeour captured this particularly autumnal image on a recent visit to the rock yard at the very base of the site. When is your favourite time of day (or night!) to visit Sugarloaf Rock!? See more
18.01.2022 Need a place to escape and reconnect? Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta is a great place to start. Here you can feel the salty ocean-air on your face as you lo...ok out toward the seas and witness the point where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet. As the most south-westerly tip of Australia, in our beautiful state of Western Australia, its a fairly impressive vantage point in The Margaret River Region which is bound to take your breath away. And with its impressive new interactive interpretive centre, you can experience life as a lighthouse keeper like never before. Video by @scottslawinski on Instagram.
18.01.2022 A glass of red and cosy log fire.... What more do you need this winter @ Forest Rise?

15.01.2022 Each lighthouse in Australia has its own unique timing sequence, and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse flashes every 7.5 seconds. So, lets say you had sailed from Englan...d, down the west coast of Africa, past the treacherous waters of the Cape of Good Hope then across the Indian Ocean on the Roaring Forties. You hadnt seen land for weeks. When you first sight land you count the timing sequence of the lighthouse and check your navigation charts, working out that youre at Cape Leeuwin. Further north Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse has a different timing sequence. Their lighthouse flashes at 2.5 then 7.5 seconds. The charts tell sailors to give Cape Naturaliste a wide berth, as the coral reef reaches 30km north. Even now, in the days of electronic wizardry, lighthouses still play an important role in maritime safety, and as such, these historic lighthouses are still superbly managed and maintained by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. Jump on board a tour at either spot and ask plenty of lighthouse questions - they love it! Scott Slawinski Base Imagery

07.01.2022 We black cockatoos. This time of year theyre on the move, squawking loudly as they fly through the forest and across vineyards with their pals. Also on the m...ove is ultra marathon runner Rankin Salinas who is raising funds for the endangered cockies by doing the 124 kilometre Cape to Cape Cocky Run in under 24 hours - what a superstar He sets off from Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse on 4th April heading along some of Western Australias finest coastal scenery to arrive at Cape Naturaliste the next day. Rankin hopes to raise $10,000 for Nature Conservation Margaret River Regions black cockatoo conservation program. Total legend. Well be cheering you on Rankin, love your work! 05.01.2022 Sure, the Margaret River region is largely known for its wine. But for those of you that prefer a beverage with hops, the South West has a cracking craft beer s...cene thats equally as impressive. Its only fitting that Cabin Fever Festival pays homage to the cold one, so weve partnered with some of our favourite breweries and beer-drinking establishments in the Margaret River and Busselton regions to make sure equal love is given to our grain based beverages. Read on for a list of whats brewing for this winterhttps://www.cabinfeverfest.com.au/whats-brewing-down-south/
