25.01.2022 1 MORE SLEEP UNTIL A GRADE PRE SEASON STARTS!! See you at Ferretville at 6.30pm on Thursday night - Remember, BBQ after training for those who push themselves to the limit from the start (and also those who are hungry after training....)!
24.01.2022 Exciting Ferrets A Grade news!! A new year brings exciting new opportunities for our Ferrets Open Age Men’s Team (A Grade). Not least of which is the introduction of a dedicated A Grade committee who will be overseeing the running of the team this year, along with new Head Coach Luke Fahy(pictured). Luke has had a long Rugby League career including numerous seasons in Ron Massey with Cabramatta & Guildford, and NSW Cup with Wentworthville. Most notably, Luke spent the 201...2-13 & 2014-15 seasons playing professionally in France with Toulouse Olympique. So he brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. Loving life on the beaches now, Luke has been involved with the Mighty Ferrets (we know this is the highlight of his career so far) since 2019 and is really looking forward to taking the team into the new season. Training starts this coming Thursday, 28th January at 6.30pm, down at Ferretville for all those interested in playing with our great Club this season. ..............And of course there will be a BBQ after training prepared by chef extraordinaire, Cowra, and the bar will be open Hope to see you down there for the start of a brand new season!
22.01.2022 We’re at the pointy end of the season now, with less than a handful of games to go! Round 8 draw is in, see below. Good luck to all Ferrets and Happy Fathers Day to all our Ferret Dads!
22.01.2022 Season 2020 is almost wrapped up, with only 2 weeks until the grand finals are played. We have 3 of our awesome Ferrets teams who are heading into the semi finals next weekend - the U9’s, U10’s and U11’s! Good luck to all teams, we are all behind you and can’t wait to cheer you on The mighty U9’s are the only team in their comp to go undefeated for the season, with 8 wins & 1 draw, handing them the minor premiership in 2020! ... Congratulations to Coach Carl (very ably assisted on occasion during the season by Matt Eisenhauer & Dean Lythall), Manager Anna, all the players and everyone associated with the team!
22.01.2022 Somewhere between COVID delaying the season and now, this club legend played his 100th game in the mighty Green & White! Congratulations Sam Riddiough on reaching this awesome milestone with the Ferrets! A true team player, Sam didn’t want any fanfare for this achievement, but we couldn’t let it pass without giving him a virtual pat on the back for putting in each & every week for his team & the club. Here’s to many more games Sam! Hopefully we’ll all be able to see you run out of the sheds through the 100 game banner soon (Yes, the pic is a few years old, but we thought the facial expression depicted his determination so well!)
20.01.2022 What a great day on the field for our Ferrets today! Our U6’s played their 1st game of the season under club legend Coach Todd Knight, the U7’s continued their season with another great game and the day finished with a 40-0 win to our U15’s against Manly Bros There’s also another famous Ferret surname on the 6’s team sheet this year, with Scout Backhouse making her Ferrets debut, following in the footsteps of her Grandad, Mum, Uncles & Aunty! ... The U15’s are pretty happy with their Guzman Y Gomez drink bottles and U10’s Player of the Match, Will Hobson, is going to enjoy using his GYG voucher for playing an outstanding game today! Well done to all the kids....Go Ferrets! #GYG #guzmanygomez #forestvilleferrets
20.01.2022 And, while we’re on the subject of Grand Finals.....congratulations to the North Sydney Bears Harvey Norman Womens Team on their awesome win today to progress to the grand final! The Ferrets & the Bears have enjoyed a great partnership over the last few years and there are some names on the Bears roster that will be very familiar to Ferrets fans! None more so than the super talented Ferrets Club Legend Nicole Backhouse! Best of luck to the Bears girls for the GF, the Ferrets are all behind you
19.01.2022 We were all on the edge of our seat this week, wondering if time would be called on the comp after the latest round of COVID protocols the state government released. But we survived! Now it is up to ALL of us to make sure we make it to the end of the season. We can do it, if we all take responsibility for ensuring all COVID protocols are adhered to wherever your team is playing. Some important points to remember:... - ONE SPECTATOR PER PLAYER - whether its seniors or juniors, please stick to the 1 spectator per player rule. Extra spectators will be asked to sit in their car or leave the ground. - Get in, play, get out! - Check in when you arrive make sure all spectators register using the QR code or physical sign in forms at grounds - Social distance at all times players on sidelines, spectators watching the game, canteen and BBQ queues - Sanitise hands and equipment all players should sanitise their hands on arrival and all equipment should be wiped down between games - Trainers NO shared water bottles, each player should have their own NO drinking water to be taken on the field for players in breaks of play and when there is an injury this applies no matter what age group your team is - DO NOT ATTEND if you have visited Victoria in the past 14 days - DO NOT ATTEND if you have attended any of the reported case locations in NSW - DO NOT ATTEND if you are in any way unwell Remember, the best chance we have of seeing this season out is to make sure we don’t get complacent around our Covid-19 Safety.

13.01.2022 Ok, so we know they are not technically Ferrets, but we love celebrating anything to do with Rugby League, especially when one of the Ferrets family is in the team! Asquith U23’s finished as minor premiers this season and booked themself a place in the GF this Saturday at Macquarie Uni against Emu Plains. Well done boys! What’s the Ferrets connection you ask?? Front row, 3rd from the left is our U16’s coach Ben Riddiough ... Congratulations to Ben and all the Asquith U23’s, best of luck for Saturday
13.01.2022 Round 7 draw is in, good luck to all our Ferrets!
12.01.2022 Just an FYI, our website is currently under construction. We know a few of you have tried to access it in the last day or 2, so we apologise for any inconvenience. It should be back up and running very soon. This doesn’t affect registrations so just go to www.playrugbyleague.com/register and follow the prompts. Thanks for your patience!
11.01.2022 Ferrets Semi Finals wrap up 3 of our champion Ferrets teams competed in the semi finals today and every single player did themself, their coach and their club proud! All these kids have played so well and so hard all season and thoroughly deserved to play in todays semis. On behalf of the whole Ferrets community, we say a HUGE Well Done and Congratulations to all involved with the 9’s, 10’s, 11’s, especially the players The U9’s have secured a spot in next weeks Grand... Final - well done boys! The 10’s & 11’s both went down fighting and just got pipped at the post in their respective semis. We’ve been told by neutral observers that all the kids in the 10’s & 11’s left nothing in the tank during their games, and should hold their heads up high. We know the restrictions on spectator numbers will mean that the majority of us can’t be there in person to cheer the 9’s on next week, but we will all be cheering loudly from afar! Good luck 9’s (ps. Yes, I know 2 of the photos are of the same team...no team photo available of the 11’s at the time of posting. If anyone has one, feel free to post it or send it through to be included )
09.01.2022 There’s not much Lisa ‘Barbs’ Fiaola hasn’t achieved in her sporting career - Dual-code international, has a competition named after her, Premiership-winning Coach of the Mighty Forestville Ferrettes, to name just a few. And, until today, we could very safely say that her involvement with the Ferrettes was the crown in her sporting resume (I’m sure Barbs would agree??). Today, we heard on the grapevine that, after such a stellar effort as player/coach in recent years at the ...Ferrettes(cmon, let us believe it’s all about us!), the amazing Lisa was named as Assistant Coach of the Warriors NRLW team for the 2020 Competition. Congratulations Barbs, from everyone at the Ferrets! We know how lucky the Warriors girls are to have you and we’ll all be cheering you and the team on - hopefully from the sidelines, but from our lounge rooms at the very least!
08.01.2022 To all our awesome Ferrets Dads, we hope you’ve had a fabulous day today and been thoroughly spoilt by all your little Ferrets!
08.01.2022 Women in League Round We’re very lucky at the Ferrets to have some amazing women involved in all aspects of the game - whether it’s playing, coaching, managing, or just general volunteering in all areas of the club, which is absolutely crucial to the success of the Ferrets. To all the amazing Ferrets women, we say a HUGE THANK YOU! But, we couldn’t let Women in League round go past without focusing on one particular young lady. Someone who has made such an impact on th...e game in general over the last few years as a part of the fantastic Manly Warringah Referees team but, more specifically, this season at the Ferrets, helping to coach some of our youngest Ferrets. Hanna Clare, you are simply the best! The kids adore you, as do everyone at the Ferrets! We are so grateful for absolutely everything you have done this year for us. You are wise beyond your years and such an absolute delight to have around. Everything you do is always done with the best smile . You come & help set up early on game days, and are there for the kids as soon as they arrive. The kids love seeing you every week & you are helping to instil the love of this game in all of them. Thank you for being a massive part of the Ferrets this year - hopefully the start of many years with the mighty Green & White! Thanks Hanna! See more
08.01.2022 We’re so lucky at the Ferrets to have so many awesome businesses supporting us. J-Train Athletic Performance in Brookvale is one of these great supporters! 07.01.2022 There was so much excitement and enthusiasm in our U9’s training session tonight! Who wouldn’t be excited less than 48 hours before playing your 1st Grand Final at Brookvale Oval?? These kids have had the best season and are such an awesome team of kids. The Ferrets are so proud of them and wish them all the very best on Saturday. Enjoy this time boys, not everyone gets to experience something like this
07.01.2022 Great news for friends and family of our mighty U9’s, with the government relaxing crowd numbers even further at the 11th hour, just in time for the Grand Finals at Brookvale Oval tomorrow & Sunday. We love that this awesome team are able to have more supporters there to cheer them on, so please cheer loud enough for us to hear at Ferretville! ** Make sure you still follow all COVID safety protocols, remain seated throught the game and leave soon after the game is over. Remember, the majority of officials at the ground are volunteers and all have worked very hard this year to not only get the kids on the field again, but to have the finals go ahead. So please listen to any & all instructions and enjoy the spectacle of these fabulous kids playing our great game! **
07.01.2022 This is good news from NSWRL tonight. It’s up to all of us to be sensible and follow the protocols & guidelines from state government, Health department and our sport’s governing body. If we all do the right thing, we can go through to the end of the season.

From the Ferrets family to yours, we wish you the most wonderful Christmas season and hope you can spend time with all your loved ones We look forward to seeing all Ferrets back on the footy field very soon
04.01.2022 Footy was definitely the winner today at Ferretville and for our ferrets playing away from home We saw 6 awesome teams take the field at Ferretville and every player was ‘simply the best’! U10W Harbord & Avalon, U11W Belrose & North Curl Curl and U13 Bronze Avalon & Cromer - you should all be extremely proud of yourselves and your sportsmanship on the field. You all put on a fantastic spectacle for all there to cheer you on. Well done on a great season and best of luck in... 2021 Thanks to all our Ferrets & ‘Ferrets-for-day’ helpers. We couldn’t have got through today without you. Most notably, Brian Friend and Brett Eisenhauer who kept the sidelines both managed & COVID-safe, and of course running the awesome presentations after each game. We would also like to thank all the spectators for doing the right thing COVID-wise & just cheering your kids on in the most positive way.
