09.01.2022 Some photos from the M3W game v Grange 01.05.21. Reiterating my posts from previous seasons, If I miss you don't take it personally. I am only an amateur who takes her best shots close up. As well, I won't post anything I deem to be offensive, inappropriate or particularly unflattering - however 'game face' is expected. Enjoy!

08.01.2022 Congratulations to our young Forestville players.

01.01.2022 A TRIBUTE TO JOYCE HOOPER Life Member and Club Legend Forestville Hockey Club It is with great sadness that Forestville Hockey Club has learnt that Life Member and Club Legend Joyce Hooper passed away peacefully on Sunday 21st June 2020. Joyce and her husband John have been associated with Forestville Hockey Club since their eldest son William (Bill) commenced playing in the mid-1960s. ... Joyce’s contribution to Forestville Hockey Club for over 50 years was instrumental in making the club what it is today. Joyce, alongside John, would spend every weekend volunteering at the canteen and behind the bar. Forestville is renowned as family friendly club and this is largely due to Joyce and John Hooper’s contribution over many years. Joyce’s warmth and friendly smile always made everyone feel welcome. Joyce was one of a kind and gave so much of her time to Forestville Hockey Club. An example of Joyce’s kind and loving devotion to the club was illustrated on match days in the seventies and early eighties when the Premier League Men’s team would play regular home games at Goodwood Oval. It was a common occurrence to have large crowds lined up along the sideline passionately supporting the game of hockey. The upstairs balcony would be full of people often running three or more deep, all wanting a drink or two and something to eat during the game. After the game the clubrooms would be jam-packed with people keenly discussing the game and all manner of things, all wanting additional food and drink. Throughout all of that there was Joyce under constant pressure, lovingly working with John calmly serving customer after customer in her own kind, loving manner, never complaining about the work load. Simply doing her utmost to help the club, as she did on countless occasions and in many different ways, year after year for many years. For such devotion, the FHC Bar was famously and quite appropriately named the ‘Hooper’s Bar’. Forestville Hockey Club would like to pass on our condolences to John and to their children, Marilyn, Bill, Barry and David, and their families. In memory of Joyce, all Forestville teams from Under 13 and above will wear black arm bands to pay their respect to such a wonderful, dear lady and recognise her immense contribution to our club. A private funeral will be held today, Tuesday 30th June 2020. Over the following months the club will work with John and David to arrange a fitting tribute to celebrate Joyce’s contribution to the Club. Joyce, the Forestville Hockey Club will forever hold you in our thoughts and in our hearts.
