22.01.2022 There are so many incredible benefits of breastfeeding for both mama and baby! Here are some facts you may not have heard before: If you or your bub gets sick, the composition of your breastmilk changes to help fight off illness and disease by increasing the white blood cell count in your milk! The World Health Organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, then with the introduction of solids, continued breastfeeding until at least 2 years old. At ...night breastmilk changes to accommodate for the time of day and has higher levels of melatonin, helping bub to sleep better Most mamas will find one breast produces more milk than the other Babies who are breastfed have lower rates of illnesses/diseases later in life such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma etc. The risk of estrogen-based cancers is lowered for mamas who breastfeed! This includes cancers such as breast and ovarian cancers Producing breast milk consumes 25% of the bodys energy; the brain only uses 20% by comparison. Whats one of your favourite facts about breastfeeding? @throughrosecolouredglasses #forevermum See more

22.01.2022 Research published in the Journal of Paediatrics found that choline has a significant role in infant brain development that starts in utero, and is reliant on the mothers dietary intake. The body can produce choline, but this is dependant on the methyl exchange between choline and folate. Incorporating foods rich in choline during pregnancy and breastfeeding helps meet your bodies additional demand for choline. Choline rich foods include: egg yolks, lean red meat, fish, poultry, legumes, nuts and cruciferous vegetables. 18.01.2022 "Here are a few things about motherhood... It changes you. Your selfish ways began to subside. You go from taking care of yourself to effortlessly ensuring those around you are well cared for. A mother.... One who never hesitates to give their last to one in need. You become more intentional in all that you do, because we all know a mother never has enough time in a day. Motherhood encourages you to live more freely, with the pleasure of being able to awaken your inner child. Having the ability to seek joy in the smallest things, because in those small things, lies the exact things that matter, As you gaze in your little one's eyes, displaying such joy. Motherhood toughens you. You exude a level of strength, no man could ever imagine achieving. You someone make it all happen, even with the odds against you. Because you know, you have a little human taking note of every, single thing and is relying on you. To them, you are their superhero. There's no strength like #motherstrength." @mother.ly @krystalhipwell #forevermum See more

14.01.2022 Does Omega DHA make babies smarter? Can you do anything to make your child smarter before he or she is born? Or is your child's future a genetic lottery? "Intelligence emerges from the interaction of a person's genetic makeup and the environment in which they develop,...We have little control over nature's contribution, but the uterine environment is of critical importance and often overlooked by new parents. 1 -Thomas J. Darvill PhD Adequate consumption of omega-3 fatty ...acids is vitally important during pregnancy as they are critical building blocks of fetal brain and retina. 2 Omega-3s are important components of cell membranes, particularly in the brain & eye. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, nutritional requirements for DHA increase, as DHA supports the healthy development of the brain, nervous system and eyes of your growing baby Your body doesn’t naturally produce DHA so it has to be obtained through a healthy diet, or supported with supplementation, if dietary intake is inadequate #Forevermum Sources: www.webmd.com/baby/features/how-to-have-smarter-child#1; Coletta JM, Bell SJ, Roman AS. 10.01.2022 Pregnancy is an exciting time and brings plenty of changes and challenges, both emotionally and physically. Youre probably focused on your growing baby, but its important to prioritise your own wellbeing during this time. Here are some ways to practice self-care during pregnancy: Get some rest -Growing a baby uses up a lot of energy. Ensure you get plenty of sleep overnight. Take catnaps during the day if possible, even if you just rest your eyes for 15 minutes with your fe...et up. Move your body While rest is important, regular exercise promotes the release of endorphins, your bodys feel-good hormone that boosts your mood. Activities such as swimming, yoga, walking or low-impact aerobics are great ways to promote a healthy body and mind. Eat well Its temping to reach for the high-sugar foods, especially when youre tired. A well-balanced diet of nutrient-dense foods staves off cravings and ups your energy. Reduce stress We live in a high-paced world and stress can have a negative effect on your emotional wellbeing and your physical health. Go somewhere It might be the beach, the mountains, or sitting out in the sun and soaking up some vitamin D. Pamper yourself Love a good massage? Or is a pedicure your thing? Book yourself regular pamper sessions. Even a night in with a favourite face-mask is a lovely way to treat yourself. Related: Why every woman needs a girls weekend away Soak it up Run a warm, deep bath, add Epsom salts or your favourite bath bomb, and light some candles. To take your relaxation further, play some relaxing music. Snuggle up Getting close to a loved one promotes oxytocin, another feel-good hormone important during labour and birth. Make time each day to get your quota of hugs and loving touch. Source: www.houseofwellness.com.au//8-ways-to-look-after-yourself- #forevermum #selfcare #ftm #pregnancy #love

10.01.2022 Folic acid is the most common form of Vitamin B9 and is a synthetic compound that must be metabolised by the body before it can be used. It is converted by the body first to dihydrofolate (DHF), then tetrahydrofolate (THF) and finally to the biologically active form, levomefolic acid. Activated folic acid, known as Quatrefolic, Levomefolic acid, also known as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) is the biologically active form of folate and the form found in circulation. It does not require enzymatic conversion and can be utilised directly by the body. #forevermum #pregnancy #folicacid #folate #activated #quatrefolic #baby

09.01.2022 Have you changed your birth plans because of current events?

08.01.2022 At around week 18 of your pregnancy, your baby will begin to hear the sounds of your body, such as your heartbeat and your stomach rumbling. At 26 weeks, a baby may react to noises both inside and outside the mothers body, and may be soothed by the sound of her voice. The noise your baby hears inside the uterus is about half the volume we hear, but, a loud noise may startle an unborn baby and cry if exposed to a sudden loud noise. #forevermum #pregnancy #baby #babybrain

05.01.2022 Dads to be, did you know? "You have a better chance of conceiving if you have healthy sperm. The best way to ensure you have plenty of healthy sperm is to keep your testicles cool, as heat affects the testicles ability to make sperm. For a few months before you want to conceive, you can help keep your testicles cool by avoiding very hot baths or spas, not putting your laptop on your lap, and wearing loose-fitting underwear." 02.01.2022 "This week, even amidst all the chaos in the world, Ive had a niggling little personal thought hanging about, a whisper in my brain saying, Libby, its time to see whats possible for your family... or to find out whats not! For those who dont know my health story, I lost my cycle for significantly more than a decade after years of chronic hypertension in my 20s, and ended up losing hope Id ever be able to have a baby of my own... I worked SO hard to get that ...cycle back and when it finally did reappear, I magically conceived my gorgeous Izzy, and I think I was still in shock that it was actually happening on the day she arrived Earth-side! Now, almost two years after she was born, my cycle still hasnt come back, not even a hint, Im hoping due to breastfeeding her for so long (and yes, always overnight!) but I really dont know what my body will do now its time to start weaning her and regulating things again. But I do know its time for me to put some effort in to give it a good shot and see whether baby number two might be a possibility, or whether its just me and my lil girl against the world, which is fine too! But siblings are just so much fun arent they... well, mine were anyway hehe, I guess I cant vouch for all So its on! More protein, more fats, more healthy carbs, more greens, no coffee first thing in the morning before food (which Ive been told can intercept those lovely sex hormones just as theyre rising for the day) and I was recommended to try this little fertility cleanse + balance supplement from @forever__mum with hormone regulating and system cleansing herbs to help things along.
