14.01.2022 DROPPING SOME GEMS HERE Taking a rest is not just getting 7-8 hours of shut-eye or having a nap. In fact, some forms of rest may make you feel guilty and they shouldn't. Giving yourself mental breaks is healthy (and productive). It sounds counterintuitive but slowing down helps you move fast. ... Life is about balance. Remember this line: You cannot have intensity without breaks. Psychological studies show that working smarter means taking short and frequent breaks. By recharging your emotional batteries, you're able to perform better at work and relationships. Making time to be unproductive is the most productive thing to do. Your relationship with time is equally important as your other relationships. Make a healthy connection with it.

01.01.2022 Let’s get raw for a minute It’s taken me a LONG time to work on this and after recent reflections I can finally put it into words. I’m sharing from the place ...of hope to help someone else having a go at being their best. Today I was fully emerged in a podcast featuring Hugh Jackman and it was, and he is brilliant. What clicked is how much more I resonate with ‘public figures’ that come from a place of self care and are purely authentic & genuine. The hustle, grind, discipline, you need to do what ever it takes, no excuses, work harder, type individuals have no place in my ear anymore. Why? When it comes from a place of self love, you show up with more energy, passion and an overall, autenthic self. You can enjoy the now. The place of hustle, grind you’ll never quite feel good enough, you’ll always be chasing more and never fulfilled. Your energy will dip from rushing highs to demoralising lows. One thing my journey has taught me is a high level of discipline. The line between discipline being from a place of self love, or from an inpatient, never satifisied grind mentality can be a slippery slope. An example of this discipline is when I was a chubby 13/14 year old, I use to do these absolutely savage field sessions to the point where I would break. Something would stop working I had that ‘ 6th gear’ but didn’t have the self love. Moral of the story is be VERY careful of who you surround yourself with and listen to. Have the self awareness to know who is going to help you be the best version of yourself. Because the message of ‘work harder’, ‘grind/hustle’ made a hard working youngster, learn the long and hard way. As always though, grateful for the lessons learned.
