B & their son (mini best man) were already there waiting (looking dapper AF I might add)... Then we got it done..... 23.01.2022 Stop and see the art and the beauty all around you. Simple Bird on a wire I saw this cool little collection of our feathered friends the other day and thought, they look pretty cool so I took a pic........ I read a blog post today about a lady in lockdown in Wuhan China saying although isolation is hard, she has taken time whilst not rushing off to work and with less pollution in the air to see the beautiful spring coming to life in her city. In a way, maybe we can look at the Carona Virus lock downs and shut downs as an opportunity to reassess what is really important- for me its of course my family, their health and how lucky we are to have never experienced in my lifetime in this country famine, war, major terrorism or disease on a mass scale.... I still feel hopeful - its going to be a big change and some people will suffer Stay safe and positive if u can. Smell the roses See the birds...... Hope everyone is feeling ok xxxx

23.01.2022 Saturday humour What a husband!!!!...

23.01.2022 I like numbers, I like synchronicity...... so at the beginning of 2020 ..... well you know...... and then well .......YOU KNOW!! No one could have predicted that. This year I only did 6 weddings due to postponements and a bit of a natural slow down in my referrals ... I was lucky enough to conduct 2 face to face trainings for OPD as a Celebrant trainer..... oh, and I learned Zoom (sort of) and conducted a 2 day funeral course via Zoom, 3 masterclasses and 3 OPD’s..... 107 That’s the number of funerals I conducted this year. Some of them were HARD 10 people at a funeral- countless others watching on from live streams. Numbers increased but we are still at some level of restrictions in all venues. These peoples lives are not measurable by a number present. Or the year they passed in. We look to words, not numbers for the hope to bring comfort on these tough days If you didn’t have your loved ones close, I see you. If you missed a milestone with someone, I see you. If you had to watch a funeral service via live stream, I’m so sorry you missed out on that healing opportunity. To all those who grieved different losses, they’re all big, no matter how small. But some numbers this year were good - unlimited lessons learned, countless hours of great Netflix binged. Huge numbers of us appreciating health workers and essential workers. Realising what an abundant country we have. Food, healthcare. Help from the government, clean parks to walk around during lockdown. Technology. All of it...... So whatever 2021 brings, I’ll count my blessings Of which they are infinite Second pic..... my fave moments of 2020...... See you

22.01.2022 This is a picture of a Rollercoaster This is what 1 day looks like atm Feeling positive then having a mid morning meltdown (homeschooling) then getting pissed off, getting frustrated at something you hear on the news, then feeling motivated to get everything done, starting a job, not finishing it, getting annoyed at yourself. Not bothering to do your exercise for the day or doing your exercise and feeling like youve got no energy- having a big belly laugh at a meme then te...aring up at a story on the news. Having a wine or 5 then falling into a deep sleep, or getting insomnia...... or something similar Yep, thats the new normal but I think realistically when youve ridden the rollercoaster a few times your breathlessness calms down you embrace the ride and as you line up for another turn you look forward to the fear and uncertainty. You sort of relish the rush (the unknown) and you go back for more. And really, wasnt life a rollercoaster before too???? #rollercoaster #newnormal #stayhome #2020 #crazyride

21.01.2022 A lot of the weddings I have had booked this year and next have family connections, either my own family or families whom I have helped previously.....I think this is what happens when you’ve been a celebrant for over 10 years, you can transcend generations, marry parents, children, help families with loss and life celebrations. 17.01.2022 So.......this resonates so, so much for me and my line of work. Read the second slide for a story of good news and creating your own headlines. Last week I had a lot of funerals, my busiest week since March.... These families had lost loved ones. Suddenly, in old age, in middle age, in sickness, through struggles. Holding hands or from far apart. The one thing which astounded me through these loses was the STRENGTH and GRATITUDE which everyone was able to show. Gratitude for lives lived, love given and lessons taught. Morals and values shared. Humans are strong. Humans are positive. Humans pull together. Love is the light. Yes there will always be a bad headline. There will always be stuff going on which hurts and is cruel, disrespectful and unjust. But in equal part there will be good......actually more than equal. There will be MORE good and live and light. It is held inside, quietly, subtly and wont make a headline. However lets keep seeing it as a privilege to be in the presence of, as I was in the presence of such STRENGTH this past week. As working humans we have lost our rhythm, our flow has been hit for six....... nothing is as it was. Weddings cancelled and postponed, people going crazy in the shopping centres, sports cancelled, airlines grounded..... Ironically though, and hear me out..... we as humans may find a rhythm in this, a flow. The earth appears to have? Its shit that so many may lose their livelihoods but its almost forcing us to look so much deeper than we did before. And to my final word, assist..... I am here to assist...... To the busy celebrants who may end up with a heap of postponements with dates for late 2020 and early 2021, I am not as heavily booked as I do 4 funerals to every one wedding these days SO..... if you need an experienced helpful celebrant to take over from your already awesome but potentially heavily booked celebrant, let me know..... After asking 3 Celebrants in Perth who they knew who would you recommend for a memorial service? And all three saying me, they thought they had better make contact.... One of the daughters told me this AFTER the memorial was over and I was BLOWN away!! 04.01.2022 THIRD TIME LUCKY So these two amazing humans are from the West but live in the East. They were going to get married twice last year but you know...... the dreaded ... However they are troopers. They have travelled the world, lived together and had no family nearby often - they knew they’d get there......they’re resilient AF. They booked their flights to WA, got docs signed over in NSW, met me last minute, and then away we went.... Just for added excitement and irony, there was a bushfire nearby the day of their wedding and the light was fading for pics, but how well did @edan_photography do capturing the magic.
