18.01.2022 Miss last Friday's meeting? It was another hybrid #Toastmasters event with attendees both online and in the #Brisbane Square Library. This week the theme was "Peaceful Places" and we had some great speeches from Adi and our new Toastmaster Dylan, although Dylan's speech on the tribulations of a trip to Paris was far from peaceful! Word of the day was "ennui" but there wasn't much of that thanks to our great speakers, including a colourful "Travelling Tale". With the year-end fast approaching we look forward to seeing more great speeches before Xmas - stay tuned for our next event, 12pm next Friday 23rd! #qld #publicspeaking

15.01.2022 Another great meeting today via Zoom! Kristal gave her icebreaker and what an excellent speech it was, looking at her career moves from Canberra to Brisbane, passion for travel & salsa and now starting a HR/tech firm! Adi gave us plenty of sci-fi dreams in her speech which referenced classic genre films such as Blade Runner and Avatar. And we had some great holiday-themed table topics with stories of travel around NSW, Victoria & more! Finally after evaluations from Mark, Charmaine & Graham Cairns we had the news that our host venue, Brisbane Square Library, may allow us back soon...albeit limited to 10 people per meeting. 09.01.2022 Another great online Forex #Toastmasters meeting today despite the #Ekka show holiday here in #Brisbane! Naturally we had an Ekka theme and our Table Topics master Charmaine gave us some excellent Ekka topics on having to sell our 'goodies'! Soap box was also contributed by Charmaine on road rules - safe driving everyone please! Travelling tale from Helen explored Kewpie dolls and other topics...and as usual Graham Cairns gave an excellent overall evaluation. Our Toastmaster Jenny Zeng kept the meeting running smoothly and we finished well within the hour allocated. Looking forward to seeing everyone back at our next meeting on the 28th! #qld #publicspeaking

05.01.2022 Great meeting today for our 10th anniversary! Adi gave a great lesson on our club's history, ably supported by our original founder, Ben Perkin and longstanding member Anthony Fensom. We had some great Table Topics from Jenny Zeng followed by some more humorous commentary including some great Aussie slang! Bonza mate, you little ripper! Tom Logan gave the special toast to #Toastmasters which was well received by all, especially those able to celebrate appropriately! See everyone at our next meeting on July 10!
