25.01.2022 Brents KE26 corolla was in for a tune. It was fitted up with a 4AGZE running a Garret GTX turbo. This one is going to be a fun daily

25.01.2022 Some photos taken by Dan at this mornings Custom Cars and Coffee meet. Feel free to tag the owners.

24.01.2022 Joshs R34 was in for a tune, always good to work on a car thats been put together well.

24.01.2022 Daniel had his Patrol in for a service. While it was in we picked up that the rear CV boot clamp was broken so this was replaced while it was here.

22.01.2022 Josh's car was in for its major service and to retune the carb as it was over fueling. While it was in, we also did valve clearances and repaired a few oil leaks.

22.01.2022 The break in period has been done on Marks Torana which is running a 400 chev, so once we had fabbed up the custom exhaust it went onto the dyno for a tune to suit the new combo.

22.01.2022 We removed the engine and gearbox from this Valiant in preparation for the new V8 combo to go in. For now it is off to the panel shop, for the engine bay to be painted.

20.01.2022 Jets Z31 came in to diagnose a start issue as well as an inspection to get a list together, to get the car back on the road after it comes back from panel and paint.

20.01.2022 When you come back to reception to find these ... and yes Tim tried to claim they were from him while trying not to laugh, but I know him too well . Thank you Maurice for the flowers, they are lovely .

20.01.2022 Sometimes your day just does not go to plan. This Skoda was accidently filled with incorrect fuel, we drained and cleaned the tank, flushed the fuel lines and replaced the fuel filter. We then topped it up with the correct

18.01.2022 No words can explain this ! We removed the wheels from this vehicle and found that one wheel nut had been siliconed on. We managed to remove the wheel nut which we then discovered was infact a cover up for a snapped stud. We replaced the stud along with the failed wheel bearings.

18.01.2022 So much for a day off work, small steps...at least he's at home . Making custom fuel lines for the Torana

18.01.2022 Steve's Monaro was in getting ready for the summer, we carried out a service and fixed the door locks as well as repaired a window that wasn't operating correctly.

18.01.2022 Lets see how this goes

18.01.2022 ***Cars and Coffee is back on *** Come down tomorrow morning to the Midvale speed dome, check out the cars / bikes on display and remember to swing past our display and say hi . Details below

18.01.2022 Carrying out some oiling mods and dialing in some cams on this 2J.

17.01.2022 Peter brought his 350z in for us to diagnose a fault within the clutch system. It turned out to be a master cylinder failure, we replaced the master cylinder and bled the clutch up.

17.01.2022 Brett's VQ35DE powered buggy was in for a tune, running the @haltech elite2000 ECU. This one was a little harder to set up initially, as the factory fly wheel (which was also the crank trigger) wasn't able to be retained. We worked with Brett to help come up with a solution to work around this. We were then able to carry out the tune and get it all up and running ready for racing. #forgedautomotive #haltech #elite2000... #VQ35DE #nissan #buggy #racebuggy See more

17.01.2022 Brett had his Foton delivered to us straight from the dock, for us to send off for licencing. We rectified the brake lights and took it over to be weighed as it's not been licenced in Australia. It was all ready for him to pick up that afternoon. Talk about convenient .

17.01.2022 Colins Navara was towed in not running. After some testing, we found that a wiring fault was to blame. Repairs were made to the fuel pump wiring and the vehicle was back up and running.

16.01.2022 When you own a business and your car is the way you deliver your products, you can imagine how stressfull it is to think that your vehicle may be off the road for sometime while its getting fixed. This happened to James last week, his clutch let go mid afternoon in his Triton and he was recomended to us. The vehicle was towed in, and by the time the vehicle arrived we had all the parts requied to replace the clutch making the vehicle complete and back on the road. James was back by the next morning doing deliverys as though it hadnt missed a beat .

16.01.2022 LEST WE FORGET

13.01.2022 Engine building day today - Tims RB25/30 is going back together. Cant wait to get it back into his R33 and see the difference

12.01.2022 enough said... Im sure we can all relate. https://www.facebook.com/145983898918577/posts/1430075133842774/

11.01.2022 We helped Tim out with a pre-purchase inspection when he was in the market for an R32 GTR. He found one which required a little bit of work, so once he had purchased it we then sat down and listed what was needing to be done to get it road registered. We then set off to recondition the head, fitted a new set of turbos, updated and repaired the fuel system, replaced the coil overs, installed a hicas lockout, replaced the brakes, along with taking care of service items and a full re-tune of the vehicle.

10.01.2022 If anyone is wanting a Haltech IC-7 dash, we have one in stock. These are currently on back order so if anyone chasing one contact us on 9250 3345.

10.01.2022 One in for a service, one for a tune and one in for suspension upgrades .

09.01.2022 The Faces of Forged Automotive Weve noticed that we have a lot of new followers, so thought we would introduce ourselves and let you know how Forged Automotive became what it is today. We started Forged Automotive in 2010, working weekends and after hours, in 2014 we moved to the workshop in Midvale. ... We originally started out as a service and repair workshop until word got out that Tim was into his old school cars. Over time, Tim has gained extensive knowledge in classic and japanese vehicles along with general repairs, maintence, fault diagnosis, performance, modifications and tuning. We pride ourselves in providing a superior customer experience with being honest, giving upfront assessments and backing it up with quality workmanship. Theres not alot Tim wont do, if hes never done it before he will always tell you, but is always up to the challenge. We are at that point of out growing our little workshop as many of you may have noticed over the past few months, so we do have some exciting news that we will be moving into a bigger workshop (next door ) in the coming weeks. Tim Tim is the main man behind the business and has been a mechanic for 18 years. He lives and breathes cars, he has a LC Torana and R32 GTR which is his current project/restoration. When hes not working he enjoys spending time with family and friends and also tinkering in the shed on the cars. Jess Jess is the first point of contact, she runs the office and does all the quoting and ordering of parts. Jess is also into her cars and currently has a VZ SS. Many might be surprised that the FORGED ute is also hers as well and originally modified to be her daily back before they were a family of 3. In her spare time she also picks up night shifts in an Animal Emergency Centre and enjoys spending time with family and friends. In the coming days, we will be introducing our newest member of Forged Automotive. Stay tuned...

09.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. Hope your having a fantastic day!

09.01.2022 Callums L67 Hilux was towed in, unable to select gears and was not idling. The gearbox was removed for rebuild and the IAC was replaced to rectify the idling issue. We also replaced the thermo fan as it was not up to the task. The Hilux is now back up and running with a fresh gearbox.

08.01.2022 A month or so ago we Skyped the eastern states owner of this Jag and had a virtual look over the vehicle as Jon has had his eye on a Jag and wanted Tims opinion. We decided that it was what Jon was chasing, once purchased it was sent on its journey to WA. When it arrived, we carried out a vehicle inspection and took it to get licenced so Jon can start enjoying it.

08.01.2022 Charlies VX was towed in with a coolant leak. Initially it looked like it was the timing cover gasket however once we got in there, we found that the timing cover had corroded causing coolant to leak past. We replaced the timing cover and gasket along with a full hose kit and a cooling system flush.

08.01.2022 Luke brought his Mazda in for suspension upgrades. We installed coil overs and a urethane gearbox mount.

08.01.2022 Steve brought his Patrol in as it wasnt running right, it turned out to be contaminated fuel causing the car to run rough and cut out intermittently. We drained the fuel, cleaned both tanks and lines, replaced the fuel filter and refilled with fuel. Vehicle is back to running as it should.

07.01.2022 Fabbed up a custom twin 3" exhaust for Marks Torana, then it was onto the dyno for a tune.

07.01.2022 We are one down today, if we don't get to the phone in time, please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as we can. Apologies for any delays.

07.01.2022 Karls VE SV6 was in to have the timing chains replaced as it had started to bring on the engine light due to chains stretching.

06.01.2022 Daniel had his VS calais in for a major service, the car hasnt been out much over the last couple of years so he wanted to make sure that everything was ok and that the car was back up to scratch before starting to use it again.

05.01.2022 When you get a weekend off, but you need a puncture repair.

05.01.2022 Hayden had his valiant in to sort the play in the steering and to fix an oil leak from the transmission. The vehicle is now almost ready to be registered.

04.01.2022 Scott brought his Rodeo in for us to confirm where the oil leak was coming from and to repair it. We degreased the area as there was so much oil, it was hard to see where it came from. After washing down the engine it was clear the oil was pouring out passed the front crank seal. We replaced the crankshaft seal and harmonic balancer to rectify the leak. Drive belts were also swapped out due to being oil soaked.

04.01.2022 Custom Cars and Coffee is on tomorrow from 11am at the Midvale Speeddome. Come down, check it out and be sure to pull past and say hi

04.01.2022 Seans VZ had been making a noise on start up, ended up being a stretched timing chain. We stripped it down replaced the timing chain and its components and the car is back up running as normal.

03.01.2022 Sneak peak of how the new workshop is coming along......

03.01.2022 Brandons 5lt VS came in to rectify some driveability issues. Thankfully it turned out to be nothing serious, a series of vaccume leaks which was an a straight forward fix.

03.01.2022 Just a heads up, we are closed tomorrow and Monday. We will return all phone, email and personal messages on Tuesday. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend .

03.01.2022 Painting up the rocker covers and intake plenum on a the RB25/30 were building.

02.01.2022 Mitchs diff had seen better days, so it was time for an upgrade. As the housing was damaged, it was much more cost effective getting a replacement. A replacement was sourced, rebuilt and a trutrac was installed.
