22.01.2022 Got the "what the fork's for dinner" blues? Well turn that frown upside down! Fork Knows BYO Night Cafe and Takeaway is open tonight and Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm. All your favourite burgers and boasties and snacks, as well as delicious specials and sweets for dining in, or taking away. This week we're honouring Lunar New Year with some Asian inspired treats like these Tofu Pockets stuffed with Japanese Style Sushi Rice Salad. Mmmmmm!

21.01.2022 The Story of the French Toast- For as long as I can remember, my father would proclaim, as though it were a bad thing, that my mother "couldn't even boil an egg!" when she met him. And while it is true that mum was a career woman and much better at eating than cooking, she had a few brilliant dishes that I could never replicate- rice pudding, corn fritters, lentils, chippies and....French Toast, which mum would make on random happy occasions and it was always the best and big...gest and most exciting treat. Somehow, after much persistence ( and soggy bread situations), I have come up with a veganized version of mum's world famous French Toast that I am so pleased and proud to be able to share. Crispy outside, soft inside and dusted with cinnamon sugar, just like mum used to make. It's impossible to be unhappy with this in front of you. Every slice is a piece of childhood joy and maternal love. See more
