23.01.2022 Holy Turacchio! Last night saw Moora Speedway playing host to the sixth round of the Stainless Fastener Supplies West Coast Series, proudly presented by Alltorque Engineering and in the process, saw Cody Turacchio put on an epic display of racing as he worked his way through the pack to grab the win, his second of the year. 23.01.2022 ***MEDIA STATEMENT*** Our racing schedule for the Perth Motorplex track championship will be confirmed once received Start your engines: Racing to resume at Perth Motorplex ... Perth Motorplex will reopen in August for track hire and in October for the drag racing and speedway season following a five-month closure due to COVID-19 Current venue operator VenuesWest is planning to transition to a new venue operator later in this financial year Planning for the 2020-21 motorsports season is underway The roar of dragsters and speedway cars will once again be heard at Perth Motorplex come October. COVID-19 caused an early end to the 2019-20 season followed by a complete venue closure over the winter months. VenuesWest will now finalise the process to secure a suitable venue operator. It is planned for a new operator to take over part way through the 2020-21 season. The season will be prepared under current COVID-19 restrictions, with the flexibility to adapt closer to the commencement of the season should restrictions change. An extensive transition plan will be implemented to ensure a smooth handover to the new operator, so motorsports competitors and fans can be assured that the return to racing will be as seamless as possible. Perth Motorplex achieved great results across drag racing, speedway, burnouts and special events last season and VenuesWest, looks forward to building on that success in the coming season. I look forward to another successful year of racing and events at WAs best motorsports facility," said Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray. The appointment of a new venue operator for Perth Motorplex will give long term assurance to the motorsports community. VenuesWest and its staff should be congratulated for their interim management of Perth Motorplex through the process to secure a long-term venue operator and I look forward to that announcement in due course.

20.01.2022 Cumming Unstoppable! For the third time in a row, Junior driver Rhys Cumming has raced to the feature race win, this time at the Moora Speedway as the Junior Fo...rmula’s supported their senior counterparts who were competing in the sixth round of the Stainless Fastener Supplies West Coast Series, proudly presented by Alltorque Engineering. Dave Hedington from Hyper Australia also put prizes up for the Juniors at the Moora show, giving the four drivers on hand something extra to fight for once again. The opening race saw Flynn Roser on the infield early as Cumming raced away to good win over Axel Fiedler and Lauren Hedington, while the second saw Roser unable to start and Fiedler on the infield early, leaving Cumming the winner once again, this time with Hedington in a fine second place. Due to time constraints the third heat was cancelled and the feature race shortened to ten laps, but it worked well as it allowed all four drivers the chance to start their main event. The race would quickly settle into a rhythm, with Cumming leading Fiedler, Roser and Hedington, the order remaining unchanged right through until the chequered flag. In the end it was another good night for the Junior Formula 500’s, all four of the drivers learning a lot about racing these pocket rockets and honing their skills on yet another new track. A big thanks again to Dave Hedington and Hyper Racing for coming on board to support the Juniors at this show. Junior Formula’s will be back in action with their senior counterparts at Narrogin Speedway on the 6th of February, 2021. Release by DTN Media. 14.01.2022 Rain Claims Silver Cup! In what was scheduled to be the last event of the Perth Motorplex season for Formula 500s, the rain was the eventual winner of last night Silver Cup event. Teams were able to complete their two heats to set the grid for the fifteen lap final but unfortunately the heavens opened and washed the chances of completing the event away.... Earlier in the night Jacob Lucas scored a good win in the opening heat with Mark House victorious in the second; these two drivers then slated to start on the front row of the feature before it was cancelled. With last nights rain out that also brings the Perth Motorplex Track Championship to a close for the Formula 500s, with Chris Dymock the victor for the second time in his career, with Glenn Carstairs and Jamie Nardini rounding out the podium. With the Perth Motorplex finale now behind them, Formula 500s have just three rounds remaining of the Fuel Distributors of WA West Coast Series at Manjimup, Kalgoorlie and Pithara Speedway, so stay tuned for all the details on those shows and any changes that are made in coming days! 01.01.2022 Here we come Kalgoorlie!! For the second time in as many nights, the Stainless Fastener Supplies West Coast Series will have a new chapter written, with Kalgoorlie Speedway set to host Round Three tonight, proudly presented by Freo Group Pty Ltd. Tonight’s field will feature all fifteen starters from last nights show at this stage, plus will have the added boost of three more competitors making their way into the red dirt speedway.... Ryan Higgs is on a high after last nights victory, where he held off a determined Steven Ellement and last start feature winner Cody Turacchio. All three of these drivers are a threat any time they roll into the pits and could well fill out the podium in any order once again tonight. Chris Dymock and Glenn Carstairs also showed plenty of speed last night and it wouldn’t take much for them to elevate themselves a couple more positions come feature time tonight. Others like Troy Samwell and and the Della’s, Carl and Damian, had good nights at Esperance and will hope to continue that while names like Brendon Marshman, Gavin Casey and Jacob Priest didn’t quite finish the way they hoped and will be looking to bounce back tonight. Brendan Wright joins the field tonight, as does Craig Noakes who has burnt the midnight oil in recent weeks to get back on track after a crash in the opening round at Pithara, while Darren Rodwell also makes his first appearance in a number of seasons tonight. He cut some practice laps at the Motorplex a few weeks backs and shouldn’t take long to be back on the pace tonight. Racing will begin at 6.30 tonight, with hot laps and heats prior to the dash and mid pack events and the all important feature race.
