25.01.2022 All future Formula E races to the 300 million folks in USA:

25.01.2022 Going electic is becoming fast, easy and low-cost: Cost is '$5,500. Once the process is complete, you will immediately derive the benefits of owning an electric car, including greatly reduced maintenance and fuel costs. Remember that gasoline costs a lot more in Europe than it does in the US. Transition One estimates the conversion will pay for itself in about 4 years time. Range after the conversion should be in excess of 100 miles more than enough for most daily driving chores.' https://cleantechnica.com//transition-one-will-conve/amp/

24.01.2022 Good move ACT; now for the other states and territories to match:

24.01.2022 Thank you The Australia Institute - our latest backer to bring Formula E and the Festival of eMotion to Australia, and specifically to the steets of Adelaide each year. Check out their top reasons for being the latest to back the races and festival: 'Formula E is an all-electric motorsport series, similar to Formula 1, which has grown in popularity since its inaugural championship in 2014. Adelaide has repeatedly been suggested as a potential host city for the event in Australia and we at The Australia Institute think it’s time to make it official. Here are 10 reasons why Adelaide should become a Formula E host city.'

23.01.2022 Formula E's Attack Mode and Fan Boost to be copied by SuperCars?

21.01.2022 What a great choice of people chosen, and we think Formula E and our Festival of E-motion ticks all the boxes for what is desired by the Premier. (We are also encouraged that as Chair also of Business SA, Nikki Govan chose our Formula E as one of the top 9 things SA should do to recharge the economy post COVID :) - https://www.business-sa.com//Business-SA-calls-for-Formula.) 'Mr Marshall said the group would act as a think tank to help supercharge the events offering in the state. We are committed to a world-class events calendar throughout the year in SA, because we know that it supports jobs and the economy, he said. This is all part of our strong plan to boost bed nights, create jobs and produce high-quality and vibrant events for the people of SA.'

19.01.2022 Nice - McLaren Racing have signed an option to compete in the electric Formula E championship from 2022-23, the team announced on Monday. The British-based team will spend 2021 assessing the feasibility of joining the series for season nine, when a lighter and more powerful Gen3 car makes its debut with faster charging.

19.01.2022 Another racing series bowing to the inevitable and going electric:

18.01.2022 More technlogy; more variety - Audi has unveiled its e-tron FE07 car for the upcoming Formula E season 7, which features an all-new powertrain that was developed by the manufacturer in-house for the first time:

18.01.2022 In 9 years, Formula E has grown from a simple idea on the back of a napkin, to a grid full of the biggest names in motorsport. We've seen races won and heroes made, and starting this January, in it's 7th year of racing , the teams and manufacturers will line-up and compete as an FIA officially designated "World Championship", at the same level as F1. 18.01.2022 How about a side race of these during the "Festival of E-motion" week leading up to Formula E in Adelaide? Sure would be eye-catching and fun! 'On november 10, 2020, BMW will host the #NEXTGen 2020, an event aimed at premiering a host of new additions to BMW’s portfolio, including not just cars but technologies and even visions of the future. the main focus will be on the technological field of electric mobility, in which the BMW group is one of the world’s leading suppliers. this includes the extremely powerful, compact and light drive and energy storage package for a unique flying experience dubbed electrified wingsuit by BMW i.' https://www.designboom.com//bmw-electrified-wingsuit-11-/

17.01.2022 Would you like to see a Formula E racing event in South Australia? Let ABC know in their comments section!

17.01.2022 Victoria is being schizophrenic? - trying to tax EV users on one day to bring in more cash; on the next day giving potential EV users cash; $100 million is a lot of money to spend to boost EV use: 'The Victorian state Labor government, under fire over its controversial electric vehicle road tax, has announced a $3,000 subsidy for electric vehicle purchases, and a target that aims to see 50% of all new vehicles sales to be fully electric or hydrogen by 2030. The $100 million package unveiled on Saturday also includes a commitment to build charging infrastructure and achieve more zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) in government and commercial fleets.'

17.01.2022 "And We Go Green" - the movie about Formula E is now free online: 'Formula E, the ground-breaking electric car racing series, has grown from upstart championship to the world's fastest growing sport since its inception in 2014. Through its pulsating and unpredictable racing spectacle featuring the most skilful drivers and most advanced car manufacturers, Formula E is exciting millions about the potential of electric performance in order to combat climate change and air pollut...ion in our cities. With unprecedented access, And We Go Green is the human story of the live wires, underdogs and visionaries who have made this sport such a success and are reinventing racing for the next generation of motorsport fans. We go behind the scenes with the likes of Jean-Eric Vergne, Nelson Piquet Jr, Lucas di Grassi, Sam Bird, and Andre Lotterer, as well as lifting the lid on never-before-seen footage from Formula E’s founder, Alejandro Agag and his team as they host dramatic electric races on the streets of iconic cities across the world.'

16.01.2022 Electric innovation moving from race track to road, thanks to Formula E: ,'DS Automobiles has competed in the all-electric Formula E series since the championship started in 2014. The avant-garde form of motorsport has seen DS Automobiles push the development of electric powertrains through the DS TECHEETAH team, which won the Formula E Teams’ Championship in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 making it the first-ever team to win the championship twice. DS Automobiles has used the expertise from its six seasons in Formula E to develop its growing range of electric vehicles making them more exciting and thrilling to drive.'

15.01.2022 Prices are coming down further: 'MG officially launched its first electric vehicle in Australia on Tuesday, dropping a bombshell pricing for the ZS EV of just $40,990 before on-road costs, and $43,990 drive-away, making it the cheapest electric vehicle now on the Australian market.'

15.01.2022 This weekend: ‘Formula E returns to Monaco this Saturday, racing further on the iconic track than ever before.’ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NepWJAOCAng

14.01.2022 BloombergNEF has released its latest analysis of how the auto industry will rapidly go electric in its latest "Long-term Electric Vehicle Outlook" report. Ir says electric vehicles (EVs) will account for 10% of global passenger vehicle sales in 2025, with that number rising to 28% in 2030 and 58% in 2040. According to the study, EVs currently make up 3% of global car sales. Beyond just new sales, EVs are predicted to represent 31% of all cars on the road in 2040, making up 67% of municipal buses, 47% of two-wheeled vehicles (scooters, mopeds, motorcycles), and 24% of light commercial vehicles.

14.01.2022 Mercedes launching for the upcomng season:

13.01.2022 Formula E and Festival of E-motion backer BusinessSA Chair Nikki Govan has been appointed to this new important role in choosing future events and activities for the City of Adelaide:

12.01.2022 We guess our PM will no longer say electric vehicles don't have enough grunt and will kill the weekend:

11.01.2022 Although some like racing trucks, the main message in this post is to show how rapidly the switch over to electric is happening - a 100% switch in this case and by 2021!

11.01.2022 More models from the supercar makers to overtake ol' and slow petrol ones:

11.01.2022 First one for 2021:

09.01.2022 Formula E's 7th year of races is starting up next week, with first official pre-season tests:

09.01.2022 We have to again thank Adelaide City Council and all of its Councillors giving its unanimous support for hosting all-electric Formula E racing in the city, along with our planned "Festival of eMotion". The Festival will be about all things fun and new and good in modern electric transport - from e-scooters through to e-planes and everything imaginable inbetween for both the general public and business community. Happy to see new City Councillors like Greg Mackie continuing to voice support for our planned events, which can be as soon as this year, COVID permitting.

08.01.2022 Growing support for Adelaide bidding to host the global racing series Formula E and the Festival of E-motion; this one from Jodie van Deventer, the CEO of the influential business group Committee for Adelaide. Thank you Jodie! https://indaily.com.au//sa-should-race-for-next-generati/

08.01.2022 Growing fast - global passenger plug-in electric car sales increased in March by 173% year-over-year to over 531,000:

08.01.2022 Fingers crossed the answer is no:

07.01.2022 The FIA Formula E World Championship is all set for a pre-season return to test races at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia, Spain from tomorrow onwards: https://www.fiaformulae.com//2020/november/valencia-testing

07.01.2022 While our Australian PM recently still chose last century technology diesel cars for the parliamentary fleet, across the ditch, they know we are in the 21st century now: 'Government’s historic step up to wholly battery-driven electric cars as VIP transport has just been confirmed by Audi New Zealand.'

06.01.2022 Season Beta for Formula E's all-electric robot racing is almost here:

06.01.2022 2021 the year that Australian transport goes green in a big way with electric vehicles?

05.01.2022 More low-cost vehicle makers moving to all-electric for future models: 'Even the new company’s logo will reflect its electric ambitions. Kia will soon have a new logo. If you pay attention to it, the letters in the name now look like electricity traveling between Tesla coils. According to what Kia’s new global boss told Automotive News, that’s precisely where Plan S aims to take the Korean automaker. The S there stands for Shift: a massive move into electric mobility.'

05.01.2022 A punchy Penberthy commentary on which community / cultural activities should get a helping hand from governments, especially if one like motorsports has so many fans and can also give so much economic spinoff benefits: Penberthy: "If you were told especially in the current climate that any event could generate $38m worth of activity for the state’s economy in the form of shifts for casuals, packed restaurants and full hotel beds, wouldn’t you grab it with both hands?" Ou...r team is so sad to see the legendary V8 races depart the Adelaide calendar, but we are now working extra hard to win the global Formula E races to our city and help fill the void, especially with financial impact benefits estimated at between $35 and $55 million a year across the races and associated Festival of E-motion. https://www.adelaidenow.com.au//0b0e69683cf62964699f540647

05.01.2022 A good take of where Fomula E is now and how it's changing the world of cars: Formula E is our high-speed performance laboratory. 'Electric vehicle racing is to the auto business as NASA’s Space Race was to electronics: a place to test innovations under the most competitive, challenging, and unpredictable conditions. This super-charged movement to EVs goes hand in hand with the meteoric rise of upstart Formula E, an international racing series featuring only all-electric cars. After just four seasons, the series now boasts 12 teams, two more than the Formula One series, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary.'

04.01.2022 Why do electric vehicles make our state governments go schizophrenic?? First Victoria's mixed messages, and now our own in SA, - which will spend $80 million to update all government cars to be electric (to have 75% less operating costs per year and cleaner air), but breaks its promise to do it for the first cars off the rank: 'The State Government is purchasing a new batch of $84,990 luxury cars to replace the fleet’s last remaining Holdens. And they’re not electric despite a vow. In December last year, Premier Steven Marshall announced an $80 million plan for getting public servants electric vehicles. It came after the government’s controversial proposal to slug electric vehicle owners a user charge' which has been blocked by the ALP, independents and Greens in the Parliament.

04.01.2022 Big news - Supercars is confirmed to be no more in the city of Adelaide, and maybe only now at The Bend. So sad to see a legendary Adelaide race series close, but interesting words from the Premier and Tourism CEO given that Formula E is ready to fill the gap with the next generation of car racing for the next generation of young audiences - now at 411 millon viewers globally and expanding 24% a year, especially in the key 18-24 age bracket: Premier Marshall: South Australi...a sets the benchmark for delivering world-class events, and we will continue to invest in this space to create local jobs. We remain a strong supporter of motorsports and will move swiftly to assess all options for motorsport future events." SA Tourism CEO Rod Harrex: "South Australia is one of the premiere event locations in the nation and globe, and we will continue to invest in a range of sporting, cultural and arts events to stimulate the visitor economy. Due to the high level of uncertainty around the ability of the event to proceed in 2021, the likely impact on the event for both the consumer and commercial market, and the long-term decline in the core motorsport fan, a decision has been made that it will not be possible to hold the race next year, and to not seek a contract for future years."

04.01.2022 Going for 100% electric by 2030:

03.01.2022 If Tesla wasn't disruptive enough of the auto industry, Apple's entry in to the electric vehicle space will stir up changes and innovation even more, killing off slow dowdy petrol and diesel cars even faster. Remember Nokia, Ericsson and Motorola in mobile phones??? 'It is no secret that Apple is working on the development of electric vehicle technology for almost 5-6 years now. Codenamed as Project Titan, the project contains many ex-employees of renowned automobile brands s...uch as Tesla, Land Rover, and Aston Martin. Recently, there were rumours of Apple linking up with TSMC for producing self-driving chips for their planned vehicles. It was unclear until now whether Apple will be manufacturing the vehicles on their own, or will they act as a software provider for existing automobile brands. Now, however, there are reports that the tech company is in early talks with the Hyundai Motor Group, among others.'

03.01.2022 The average Formula E fan is ~20 years younger - in the 18-24 range - than F1 fans, and it appears that for buying cars, the young are dominant again - a new report suggests children could be leading an electric revolution:

02.01.2022 Thank you South Australians for backing our team's efforts to bring the world's fastest growing - and most modern - race series to Adelaide, and thank you The Australia Institute for your pleasant surprise to do a survey of our community to find over half of people here already know about Formula E and want it for Adelaide. Like other Formula E host cities - such as New York, Hong Kong and Seoul - we see here too strong backing from industry who see electric cars as the fu...ture and are willing to back the series. As around the world, they include Australian electricity companies, telecom firms, miners (especially of copper and lithium), and companies looking to tap in to Adelaide's famous skills in vehicle design and manufacturing. With Adelaide already winning three electric vehicle firms to manufacture here, and Sanjeev Gupta our most visible backer - looking to do the same, we see these firms providing the bulk of the funding for a week of exhibits, races, conferences, and other events culminating in Formula E on the final day. Thanks to all the keen support seen so far from various sectors, plus Adelaide's love of cars and racing (we had half a million people come to see the final F1 races we hosted a world record for F1 still not yet beaten), we forecast the week of events to have big attendances, bring in at least $40 million a year to the South Australian economy, and be profitable with industry backing just as F1 was in Adelaide. We are not called the Car Loving Capital of the Southern Hemisphere for nothing! With also Adelaide City Council backing Formula E unanimously in April, and positive recent meetings with parliamentarians from all major parties across the political spectrum, we are optimistic to have the support to win one of the last two slots available in the world calendar. Wish us luck, and thank you again South Australia for your support so far

01.01.2022 Sounds like Ford's future electric utes/SUVs are going to be lightning fast and powerful; will PM Morrison now be praising EV makers for making weekends extra fun and alive?
