25.01.2022 This week, Aspiri PS is celebrating Book Week. The theme of Curious Creatures, Wild Minds is being investigated by our students, as we noticed that a curious creature has visited our school over the last weekend. The children have found giant footprints around the school which leads to a nest of golden eggs! Some theories about the creature included a dinosaur, a gruffalo and an alien. Some children think the creature has left our school and some think it is still around, hiding somewhere safe. We hope the creature will return in time before the eggs hatch!

The awards ceremony was held today via video link and they were announced as the Winners of the Best Book - Primary Schools WA . We are so proud of the hard work that they put into this project. The competition raises money for kids cancer research and over $500,000 was raised nationally with Aspiri Primary School raising just over $1000. 1007 teams competed in the competition and we would like to thank the community for their support of this wonderful cause. 12.01.2022 Our Year 3 and 3/4 students have been busy exploring the design cycle and recognising the importance of investigation and design! Our first newspaper tower designs fell over quickly and did not impress, so we researched some new techniques and ideas. We immediately saw a huge improvement in our towers. We then used our new knowledge to design and build our largest towers yet. Some of them were taller than us and we only used newspaper and tape! These were so stable that we could not blow them over! Mr Kubicek was very impressed!
