22.01.2022 Not one of our sunnier starts this year. There's also been a drop of rain overnight and the rain is expected to clear during the day. Tomorrow's Otway Odyssey is expected to have <1mm of rain so all in all trail conditions should be mint, maybe the bottom of Red Carpet may be a bit slippy but that's all part of the great adventure. Our fearless leader has been in racing retirement over the last two years and deemed himself "fit enough to do the 30k", ( actually we think 13 ...year old Jack may have shamed him into doing it ), what could possibly go wrong? Good luck to all the riders out there no matter what event you're doing be it trails or Gravel grind. 18.01.2022 Ah Covid19, you bastard, what an issue ? Paula and I have been talking about what we should do with this damn virus for a while now, I personally have been quite upbeat about the future...........until today, Monday March 16. Countries closing their borders, restaurants, bars and predicting months of shut down. Victoria declaring a state of emergency, SA threatening closing down even small group gatherings, ANZAC day cancelled for goodness sake. Christ I’m not even supposed ...to shake someone’s hand nowadays, and if you know me you’ll understand that doesn’t sit well. Simply put we deal primarily with tourists, local and from other countries, it’s our stock in trade and I don’t want to be responsible for the kids that work for us getting unwell, l don’t want our clients to get unwell via our equipment, we take a lot of care to keep our equipment clean, spray disinfectant on the helmets daily, wash and sanitise our drink bottles after each use. But this seems to be next level stuff, we’d be looking at sanitising our grips, controls, ditching providing hydration and who knows if that’s enough. If you’ve been in our shop before you’d know that the idea of social distancing in an area of that size is difficult too, and if l can’t have a yarn with you and take the time to fit up your bike properly l can’t in all consciousness deliver that service effectively. So, I’ve decided that this weekend we are honouring our current bookings and that’s it until this madness is sorted out. We’re not going to open up for normal retail business as such until this crap is sorted out, I’m severely disappointed, Paula can’t believe I’ve taken this approach but l think it’s probably the best approach. There goes my title as fearless leader I’ll settle for pragmatic instead and remember if you didn’t get your advice of the W.H.O or Australian Government website treat it with a little caution. 17.01.2022 Soupfest 2020 cancelled The Forrest Soupfest Committee has made the decision to cancel the 2020 event scheduled for June 7th, so as to help reduce the spread o...f the Coronavirus. We were so looking forward to welcoming visitors to our annual celebration of Soup, but will continue to develop ideas and strategies to ensure the 2021 event is better than ever. Thanks to funding from Acciona and the Colac Otway Shire, we aim to make the next Soupfest a waste free event. We invite everyone to via social media for soup recipes that will nurture and nourish us until the Coronavirus health crisis has passed.

We're pleased to say that Jack whipped his previous time by 45 minutes and he managed to not destroy our fearless leader in the process. Congratulations to everyone who took part, particularly those that hired from us.
