22.01.2022 Welcome to my new page. This is where I will be adding pics and updates on some of my most recent woodworking projects. For those of you who know me, I am passionate about creating from wood, I am a qualified accredited Builder and a Carpenter/Joiner and I also enjoy creating bespoke pieces for the home. 16.01.2022 Been crazy busy the last few weeks in my workshop working with Huon Pine and Blackwood, the smell of the wood is a bonus. Today I loaded up the boot of my car with chopping boards ready for laser printing, can’t wait to see them finished with my new Forrest-Smith logo, I’m going to be supplying a couple of businesses around town so keep your eyes open if you are looking for any eco friendly sustainable Tasmania timber and locally made gifts.

15.01.2022 Here is a piece I was commissioned to do recently for a Pilates Studio to put in their entrance way. A 3metre handcrafted solid Tasmanian Blackwood bench seat with shoe rack underneath and an organ oil burnished finished. Here is a couple of pics before it was assembled and completed.

14.01.2022 There is nowhere else I would rather be than in my shed whittling wood. Such a relaxing way to spend the afternoon....tunes blaring in the background.

13.01.2022 Whittling Wood. All in a days work.....I wish! These spoons take quite some to whittle but it is so well worth the time and effort I put in to them, as I find whittling wood so therapeutic.

11.01.2022 Over the past few weeks I have spent many hours hand carving a leaf out of Tasmanian Huon Pine. This leaf I have created purposely for my wife, therefore it is not for sale but I am happy to take commissions to make similar, bearing in mind each piece I create will be unique as the wood itself lends to the finished design.

08.01.2022 Been working on a Blackwood bench seat and I am pretty happy with the finished work. I used reclaimed Tasmanian Blackwood and I was able to recycle an industrial copper earthing strap as the brace. Even my old mate Klyde gave it the tick of approval. #stoked

08.01.2022 Here is my most recent job. Crafting three double glazed timber window sashes and three fixed double glazed units for a cottage at Wellers Inn, Burnie. Making the sashes was fine, but the installation has proven to be a tad challenging!
