14.01.2022 So with KOTC on soon, let’s break down a few changes for everyone. - the seniors age group has changed. It has been altered to ensure more of our older club leg...ends get into the seniors tag team. The breakdown now is 3 x o35 1 x o45 1 x o55 BIG NEWS We will be going to a relegation format after this year. This year will see all 8 clubs compete against each other. It will be hectic, competitive and pretty nasty as 8 surfers in the water scrap it out. However it will be an equal playing field for all 8 clubs. The top 6 clubs in 2021 at Forries will earn their spot directly into next years (2022) KOTC with the bottom two teams being dropped into the Relegation Final. So the following year in 2022 the 6 top clubs from 2021 will surf KOTC as normal. Whilst the Queens Of The Coast is on, the final placing of KOTC will be tallied. The bottom 2 clubs (2022) will then have to surf the sudden death relegation final against this years (2021) two bottom clubs. 1st and 2nd of the relegation final will go into the following years KOTC main event, with 3rd and 4th surfing the next years relegation final. This has been done so that all 8 clubs can be a part of the KOTC but only 6 clubs and 6 surfers will be in the water for the main event. Even if you’re club is in the relegation final only, you will still be a part of it. You can still bring down your supporters and go to the presentation to hear if you’ve been successful in regainig entry into the main event for the next year. It also allows any new clubs in the future to easily become part of the KOTC event. (It’s not as complicated as it sounds once we get use to it) NOTE: there is one asterisks with the format. That is that the next years host club is safe. Kinda like the olympics, the host gets automatic entry. This means if one of the bottom 2 teams is hosting the following year then the 4th place team will be in the relegation final. So basically the only way to make sure you are definitely safe and in the main event each year is to finish in the top 3. All of this will just add to the drama and excitement of the day and what makes KOTC such a special event. Bring on 2021 KOTC & QOTC at Forries!!

02.01.2022 Hello KOTC friends Unfortunately due to the terrible forecast on offer for this Saturday Forries Boardriders have made a tough call to postpone the event. All t...he clubs have been notified and are on board. The event will take place on the 29th May. A new flyer will be out shortly with the new date on it. In the meantime, we’d like to wish two of our clubs Avoca & Nth Shelly all the best at the Australian Boardriders Battle final which is on 15th & 16th May. Hopefully one of them can bring the title home to the Coast.
