13.01.2022 I know what you are thinking! When is the Forster Adventure Race coming back? One day! But not today However, our new trail running event might interest you ... Welcome to Australia’s newest off road ultra running event, traversing the Great Lakes region of the NSW North Coast. In the LAKES100 runners can complete 100km, 75km, 50km or 25km, as a team, pairs or solo. There will also be a 12km & 5km course for those wanting a shorter trail experience. The race will start and finish in Hawks Nest taking runners along beaches, past lakes, through forests tracking some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the Australia. It will have the arguably the most beautiful half way point in Australia at Seal Rocks, taking runner past the iconic lighthouse. The course follows existing tracks and trails, beaches, lake edges and single track. 90% is completely off road. It will be unique as it combines coastal trails with forest tracks, sand dunes, beaches and rocky headlands taking runners through remote areas that normally do not attract visitors. The run is open to solo runners, teams and pairs. Solo runners can go for a quick run or go all day in the ultimate 100km. Teams of up to 4 can run the 100km course separated into 25km legs and pairs must complete their race, either 25km, 50km, 75km or 100km, together. Race weekend starts with rego on Friday 3 July and racing starting on Saturday 4 July 2020 this is the middle of the year, start of the nsw school holidays and aligned to a full moon - a perfect time of year to go for a run. Temperature wise it will be cool to cold a night but mild during the day and most likely dry perfect running weather.
