22.01.2022 A new type of attempt we haven't seen before today. Rogue sites are trying to convince users that they need to update Google Chrome to a newer version, but instead it downloads a malicious payload. We would like to remind our customers that Google Chrome updates are downloaded and installed by the browser automatically. To check if you have the current version, click the Menu button, Help, About Google Chrome. If you have concerns or have mistakenly clicked on one of these updates, please get in contact with us.

20.01.2022 Another new scam we came across today, an email looking like a legitimate iiNet account message asking to update your billing details. Following the link takes you to a legitimate looking login to iiNet, except it is not. Notice the web address at the top of the page is not correct. Always be skeptical about such messages and if you have fallen victim to one, we can assist in mitigation.

16.01.2022 Today's virus warning comes in the form of an official looking 'Infringement Notice'. We encourage our customers to be vigilant in their fight against email-borne malware. If you have accidentally opened one of these, get in touch and we can help.

14.01.2022 Always be on the lookout for dodgy emails like this. If you don't have business with an organisation, an unsolicited invoice will often be a scam or virus. Not sure? Check with your IT support provider rather than risk your system.
