25.01.2022 27th March 1827! Elizabeth Melville Richardson was born 190 years ago - she was the first European to be born in North Australia. Parents, John and June Richardson. John was the gardener at Fort Dundas. A second time convict and a lousy drunk, John died a man respected by the botanical community - several plants are named after him. Elizabeth died in 1910, aged 83. She has numerous descendents.

17.01.2022 NT News today - Sarah Hyland is a descendant of John Richardson, the gardener at Fort Dundas. His daughter, Elizabeth Melville Richardson was born on this day in 1827. She would be 190 years old.
