12.01.2022 The work Christmas party is coming up...Here are some tips to figure out if you're making others comfortable or uncomfortable.

09.01.2022 Getting proper rest and being able to be in the moment for both work and time off are important to avoid burn out. Therese Sheedy has an interesting perspective on how we might let ourselves recharge properly.

09.01.2022 I was reminded about how great conductors are essentially great leaders by a recommendation from a switched-on organisational psychologist about the work of Ben Zander. Having just spent ten days immersed in working with some incredibly talented musicians from all over the world, I'm reminded of how positive collaboration and leadership really work.

09.01.2022 This is a little riff on surfing, and the weekend retreat we had by the beach where I got to coach presence and communication with Therese Sheedy teaching us how to be more present and mindful, and Warwick Merry helping us to stretch to bigger goals, and help us be on track for the year ahead.

05.01.2022 Video for business is a compelling tool- but how do you use it? What is the difference between filming something on your smartphone or a digital camera with professional help? Special bonus: If you watch the one minute video, you will get to see my goofy laugh. - Zerafina

03.01.2022 Your brand is your nonverbal communication of your business. It communicates through your logo, web presence and tone of voice. Ideally, your brand amplifies what you want to communicate, and creates trust through being authentic and congruent. Check it out- thanks Warwick Merry for a thought provoking discussion. When I cut out, I was saying that red makes you look attractive when you wear it, but research in education shows that people perform poorly on tests when they see red, and ignore red on web pages. It made me wonder about red as a branding colour (might be safer to go with a deeper shade)

01.01.2022 Check out the insider information on presenting to video, with special insight into the bodylanguage of film.

01.01.2022 Facebook execs say Facebook will be all video in 5 years. This is above the prediction that video will take 80% of web traffic by 2019. Australia is one of the leading consumers of video online. A lot of people are doing video, but not a lot of people are doing it well. What can help? Knowing what to say, and how to say it are key. We are now offering coaching on Script and Delivery via skype. The one thing you should know? Coming across as warm and friendly is the most impo...rtant thing in your videos. A lot of people get very serious in front of a camera, and it makes them look serious, and well, not like the kind of person you would want to spend time with, let alone do business. We are currently scripting and filming a series of top tips to get the most out of your video communications (and still be authentically you) Keep an eye out for it! See more

01.01.2022 How can you look good in video? A lot of people know that having a video will help them connect better with far more people than they could meet in person. Video accounts for half of web traffic, and this is only set to grow. Lots of small business people I speak to realise that if their competition has video on their website and they don't they're not getting as strong a chance of winning business. ... I'm running a half day workshop on June 4 in South Melbourne called, 'Video Confident; Script & Deliver.' We will be writing some scripts, practising delivering them and getting some tips on how to get the most out of video. If you're in Melbourne, there are 5 spots left, come join us! More info here: http://wp.me/P4xTB4-nvC We're not looking for perfect presentation, but some human connection. That's what makes the big difference between you and an animation. Besides, the more we see someone's face, the more we like them. (Yes, there are exceptions, but as a general rule, there are some great social psychology studies that support this) We gravitate towards people we know, like and trust. If we do video well, we have a much better chance of creating that connection.

01.01.2022 Am on a blab about mindfulness, presence and success. Tune in to the conversation and join in.
