23.01.2022 Forth Remain Undefeated 9/11/2019 A Grade Vs MCCC: Opener Mark Hollingsworth carried his bat scoring 124 not out supported by Glenn Ellis (41)and Trent Murray (40). The Colts were out of the gates early, channeling Vow And Declare but got a dose of Master of Realty with great bowling by Mark Hollingsworth (2/50), Glenn Ellis (2/52) and Simon Ackerley (1/32). The Magpies took home the win by 20 runs. ... A Reserve Vs Sassafras: The Red Dirters won the toss and elected to bat, but sure hands in wet slippery conditions by newcomer Tom Bester (3 catches) and precision bowling by Mark Steven (3/22) and Leigh Rowley (3/34) saw them all out for 132. Unfortunately, with the continuation of light precipitation, the Red Dirters were of the opinion to call the game off and Forth were unable to show their talent with the bat. The Inspirations Paint Player of the round is Mark Hollingsworth for his amazing effort with the bat. Congratulations again on the win A Grade - unbeaten start to the season!! Lets all get along to training this week so we can keep up the winning feeling #inspirationspaint #forthcc #rainraingoaway #atleastthefarmersarehappy #magpiesstillswooping
23.01.2022 Forth Inspirations Paint Cricket Club Round Update - 23/24 November 2019. A Grade Victorious Again and Clear On Top of the Ladder! A Grade VS Turners Beach Titans: The A Grade curse continued as we once again lost the toss and were sent in to field. From there Ryan George (2-20), Marcus Winter (2-14) and Mark Steven (3-11) went to work and bowled Turners Beach out for 101.... Josh Kirkwood led the way with the bat making 43, well supported by Mathew ODonnell (17 no), making the runs 4 wickets down. Another fantastic win to keep us clear on top of the A Grade ladder and continued the curse for the opposition. A Reserve VS East Ulverstone: Forth won the toss and elected to bat. After the loss of some early wickets the innings was steadied by Michael Hollingsworth (70) and Jason Little Fish Williams (52). Forth finished their innings with 5/188. Forth remained competitive in the field with runouts and bowling attack by Sam Hollingsworth (1/21) and Leigh Rowley (2/30). The game came down to the last over with East Ulverstone making the runs in what was an excellent game of cricket. The Inspirations Paint player of the round is veteran Michael Hollingsworth, with his inspirational effort with the bat helping to set a competitive target for A Reserve and show the youngsters how its done! Congratulations again to the boys in A Grade on another fantastic win!!! #forthcc #unbeatenstart #stillswooping

20.01.2022 Round Update - Forth Inspirations Paint Cricket Club suffer first loss of the season to East Ulverstone Crows It wasnt a good weekend for the Magpies this round, reluctantly having to forfeit A-Reserve and overcoming some difficulties with player shortages in A-Grade on game day. Forth went out to bat and had a quick fall of wickets before being settled nicely by Zac Briggs (37) and Sam Hollingsworth, before being all out for a total of 119. It was a good effort w...ith the ball with wickets being shared amongst Josh Kirkwood (2/29) Michael Hollingsworth (1/5) and Zac Briggs and Sam Hollingsworth. Unfortunately this was not enough to stop the Crows from coming away with the win. However, the events of the day demonstrated our resolve and commitment to each other as a club, as Tom Hollingsworth (14 years) and Sarah Gray (A Grade debut) stepped up from A Reserve to play, and the team rallied around each other during a difficult period. The Inspirations Paint standout performance this week was by Zac and Sam, highlighting the improving youth of the club, with both young men demonstrating skill with both bat and ball. Well done guys!!! #crowcountry #forthcc #magpieswillflyagain
19.01.2022 The President, Committee and players, extend their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Shane Yates, in recognition of his contribution and time played at the Forth Cricket Club. Shane succumbed to pancreatic cancer after a 10 month battle and our thoughts are with his daughters Layla and Montanna during this time.
18.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I inform everyone of the passing of a true great club man, Darren 'Dog' Steven. For those who were unaware, Dog has been battling ill health for some time now. He was fortunate to have the love and support of his family, Forth great and life member Mark Steven, and brother Craig in his own right a true club man for the Forth Cricket Club. As a club, we have been truly honoured to have the Steven family as part of our club history. Playing along... side Dog is an experience like no other and something I and all his team mates will cherish. Walking in to those club rooms will never feel quite the same without hearing the laugh of both him and Craig together, again, an experience like none other. Our deepest sympathy to George, Edna and all their family. As a club, we are still here for each other. RIP Darren, you will be sadly missed. Mick Hollingsworth

17.01.2022 Forth Inspirations Paint Cricket Club ROUND 15 UPDATE - Feb 8, 2020 A Grade Vs MCCC After two weeks rest, thanks to Australia Day and wet weather, the Forth Inspirations Paint Magpies set foot on home ground to face MCCC.... After a quick pre game warmup cleaning up the turf, the Magpies won the toss and sent MCCC in to bat. Causing issues for the Colts was Ryan George and Mark Steven (A-Res call up), both taking 3/21 from 10 overs helping to see the opposition all out for 115 runs. Going in to bat the Magpies showed why they are consistently at the top of the ladder with some of the comps best batsmen, Glenn Ellis (74), putting on a show supported by Matty ODonnell (20). The Magpies reaching the Colts total in 36 overs with 5 wickets remaining. A-Reserve VS Turners Beach: The Forth Inspirations Paint Magpies faced the Titans at Turners Beach and were sent out to the field. The Magpies were off to a good start with Tom Hollingsworth getting Aaron Fennell out for a duck on his second ball, followed by another two wickets finishing up with 3/37 (8 overs). Unfortunately the Titans took advantage of the quick ground leaving the Magpies chasing 316. Things started poorly for the Magpies (2/7 from 4 overs) but Jason Williams (25) settled the team supported by Garry Richards (14 no) and Kurt Howard (11). But after a tough day in the hot field there wasnt enough left in the tank, the Magpies all out for 81. Dont forget the Clubs Major Fundraiser for the year, Last Man Standing, is 2 weeks away. 17.01.2022 Annual Dinner Postponed We have reluctantly made the decision to postpone the end of season dinner at this point in time. There is so much information in relation to the Corona virus that is seems the most responsible course of action is to postpone the event.... We will hold the event at a later date and apologise for any inconvenience.

Forth faced MCCC in the first game with Mark Hollingsworth (3-12) and Josh Kirkwood (1-3) taking wickets with the ball. In the second T20 game Forth f...aced the Don Steamers with Marcus Winter (2-19) again showing why hes the best bowler in the competition, supported well by Simon Ackerley (2-22) keeping Don to a score of 126. Forths innings saw Glenn Ellis (38no) and Trent Murray (20) lead with the bat to reach the total and keep the top of the ladder position alive. A-Reserve: Forth batted first against Don and were in a spot of trouble early on (8-74 off 21 overs) before Mark Steven (67) and Leigh Rowley (33no) lead the team to a respectable total of 163. Unfortunately Don were able to make better use of the smaller ground and went away winners at the end of the day despite the best effort of bowlers Mark Steven (2-12) and Brent OMahony (2-20). #forthcc #mvca #posterboymark #areservescorestillbetterthanNZ

13.01.2022 Mark Hollingsworth shows how its done! A high-scoring affair befitting the competitions two top teams saw Forth extend its winning run to four straight games in Saturdays shortened round of Mersey Valley Cricket Association matches. The Magpies won the toss and elected to bat first against Mersey Colts, with a solid opening partnership of 73 between Mark Hollingsworth and Joshua Kirkwood getting the visitors off to the perfect start.... Kirkwood fell for 25 off the bowling of Tristan Grubb, leaving Hollingsworth to combine with Glenn Ellis for another large partnership, this time 75 before Ellis departed for 41 to Jansen Grubb. Hollingsworth ploughed on to bat through the innings and end up 127 not out, exactly half the Magpies final tally of 6-254. Tristan Grubb (59) and Tony Aherne (61) pulled together an opening stand of 98 but wickets fell at regular intervals leaving the Colts 17 runs short at 8-237. Hollingsworth chipped in with two wickets for Forth to top off a day he will remember fondly. The much talked about first game for Port Sorell in A Grade ended the round of completed matches with the Sharks winning their encounter against Turners Beach. Batting first, Port Sorell chalked up 8-178 with even contributions across the innings including an unbeaten 45 from Tim MacMichael. Troy Price (31) and Claude Orlando (21) made handy contributions against good bowling from Jacob McGiveron who took 3-20. Veteran Dale Gleeson and Brady Horton also picked up a couple of wickets for the Titans. In reply the Titans could only manage 103 all out with MacMichael picking up three wickets. The remaining matches between Don and East Ulverstone at Don and Sassafras and Spreyton at Perkins Park were washed out without a ball bowled.

10.01.2022 The Advocate: OCTOBER 20 2019 - 5:08PM Forth remain unbeaten in the MVCA after defeating Sassfras. Wild and woolly weather greeted the Mersey Valley Cricket Association on Saturday which led to low scores as batsmen struggled in the conditions.... Forth made it back to back wins and sit a game clear on top of the ladder already following a six-wicket win over reigning premier Sassafras. Marcus Winter wound back the clock to bag 5-14 for Forth as Sassafras struggled to build partnerships. Mark (Edit - SAM) Hollingsworth continued his great start to the season with the ball taking 2-11 for the Magpies. Clint Harrison was the top bat for Sassafras with 18 as the Red Dirters set a target of 84 for Forth to win. Glenn Ellis led the way home for the Magpies with 31 and Winter chipped in with an unbeaten 20 as Adam Jeffrey took two of the four wickets to fall in the innings. Easy Ulverstones first game of the season did not go according to plan as Spreyton chalked up win number one of the season. Batting first, the Crows were bundled out for 86 with only Steven Atkins (29) providing stiff resistance. Spreytons Mark Ford took 4-14 with support from his skipper Pete Fulton and Manassah Dare-Bonnici who chipped in with two wickets each. The chase was dominated by Aaron McNab (41), who took advantage of Sheffields bye in the Greater Northern Cup to have a game as Spreyton chased down the victory target of 87 for the loss of six wickets. Ford also did his bit with the bat scoring 17 not out. The Crows best bowlers were Atkins (2-13) and Nathan Page (2-13). In the final game of the round, Don recorded its first win of the season with a seven-wicket triumph over Turners Beach who have now slump to two losses from two starts. Turners Beach batted first and were bowled out for just 58 before the Steamers set about knocking off the target quickly, losing only three wickets along the way.

After a shaky start, Leigh Rowley (3/10) and Michael Hollingsworth (4/21) put Forth back in the game with Jack Pearce (2/15) finishing Spreyton off.... A Grade vs Spreyton: Spreyton won the toss and sent the Magpies out to field, with wickets shared evenly amongst the bowlers at one each(Ackerley, Sam, Kirkwood, and Winter 1/19 from 10 overs), and Michael Hollingsworth picking up 2/36 off 7. The Eagles set a total of 201 for the Magpies to chase which saw MVCA representative players Mark Hollingsworth (80 no) and Glenn Ellis (64) continue their form with a 141 run partnership, which lead Forth to victory still holding top ladder position. A-Reserve vs Nietta: Forth won the toss and elected to bat, but lost a few wickets early on (3/14 off 5 overs). Jason Little Fish Williams (87) settled the team, supported by Geb Davis (15) and Tom Hollingsworth (10), with forth finishing with a total of 144. Bowling for Forth was a family affair, with Trent (2/29 from 6 overs) and Mark Steven (1/13 off 6) taking wickets and Tom Hollingsworth (1/32 from 7) with a wicket maiden over. Unfortunately, Nietta made the runs in the 36th over, with the Magpies suffering a consecutive loss. The Inspirations Paint player of the round is Jason Williams for his fantastic total of 87 helping to settle and give A Reserve much needed runs. A-RESERVE: A HUGE congratulations to A Reserve for finishing the season on a high note defeating East Ulverstone. 08.01.2022 Mixed results for the Round for Forth Inspirations Paint - 7th Dec 2019 A Grade: This weekend saw the first round of T20s played with Forth facing Port Sorell in their first game. Forth were in the field with 9 players to start the match off and a few brilliant overs from Nick Cashion and Marcus Winter saw Forth restrict the visitors to 1/ 27 off the first 6 overs. ... Marcus was his usual best with 3/17 from his 4 overs, bowling 3 of the top 5 batsmen. Each of Forths other bowlers chipped in with a wicket each restricting Port Sorell to 9/114 off their 20 overs. In reply things got off to a shaky start however Trent Murray 38, a swashbuckling stint by Ryan George (37no) and a well built picket fence by Mathew ODonnell saw them home with an over to spare. Game 2: Forth won the toss and elected to bat but unfortunately lost both opening batsmen in the first over. Glenn Ellis (52) and Marcus (47) resurrected the innings setting a total of 10/131. In reply, Stan Tyson stood tall for Sassy compiling 71 n.o in what was unfortunately for Forth a standout performance, leading Sassy home to victory. A Reserve: In a slightly undermanned side, Forth took to the field first in tough conditions and on a small quick ground fielding was hard going with MCCC posting a figure of 3/297. Jason Williams was the main contributor with the ball taking all of MCCCs wickets. Forths younger players, Tom Hollingsworth, Jye Layton and Trent Steven, tried their best, bowling into the wind, but found the conditions difficult. The highlight of the innings was Michael McKellar-Stewart compiling a score of 125 and Jason Williams retiring on 30 to give some of the younger players a hit. The team were able to reach a very respectable 9/200. There was an unfortunate announcement of the retirement of one of the clubs elder statesman in Craig Edna Steven. We thank him very much for all his efforts over the years with the Club. We look forward to seeing him at the ground, enjoying his retirement with a cold drink, holding up the bar with his brother Darren Doggy Steven. Craig has previously captained A Reserve and is a former premiership player. The Inspirations Paint player of the round is Michael McKellar-Stewart for his fantastic effort with the bat, scoring a century, and helping to steady A Reserve. Well done Michael!! Lets try to get to training this week and see if we cant finish the season on a high before the Christmas Break! #forthcc #youwinsomeyoulosesome #century
06.01.2022 Forth unable to win in thriller against Sassafras - 7/3/20 Semi Final Results Proving that finals is a whole different game, Forth Inspirations Paint Cricket Club unfortunately lost to Sassafras in a thriller. Forth won the toss and elected to bat, but with Mark Hollingsworth absent for the game the team struggled to settle early on, losing 3 wickets in quick succession. Connor Tuson (34), Marcus Winter (22) and Mick Hollingsworth (20) were able to put some runs on ...the board helping the team see the innings out with 112 runs. Forth were able to take some early wickets through Mark Steven (3/21 off 10 overs), Marcus Winter (3/33 off 10) and Leigh Rowley (1/30 off 10), with Winter and Simon Ackerley (2/16 off 8 overs) both on hat tricks at one stage. In the 42nd over Sassafras were 9/112 and needed 1 run to win. Sam Hollingsworth stepped up to keep Forth in the game, with the batsman sending the ball high, which unfortunately was just out of reach for a catch! (or fortunately as we didnt have to replay the game the following day!) It was a great team game and exciting to watch, and the players have all been able to take away plenty of confidence leading up to this weeks Preliminary Final. The Preliminary Final will be against MCCC (to our understanding) at Spreyton commencing at 12pm. It was great to have supporters at the game last week, so make sure you come along and support the team again in their last chance to make the Grand Final #ForthCricketClub #PreliminaryFinal #GFLastChance #Magpies Inspirations Paint Devonport Harvest Moon - Forth Farm
06.01.2022 Forth Inspirations Paint A Grade Remain Undefeated!! Round Update 16 Nov 2019 A Grade VS Port Sorell: Game started with Port Sorell winning the toss and electing to bat. Unfortunately for them, Marcus Winter absolutely dominated the bowling with 10 overs (6 maidens) finishing with 6-7 and probably the most impressive bowling figures seen for some time in an A Grade game! Simon Ackerley was also strong with 6 overs for 23 runs helping bowl Port Sorell out for 49 in t...he 24th over. With only a small target to chase Trent Murray went out to bring home the win for Forth with 40 n.o and Sam Hollingsworth also making an impressive debut with 0 n.o. Congratulations to A Grade again on a strong start to the season remaining unbeaten and now clear at the top of the ladder!! A Res Vs Wilmot: Forth won the toss and sent Wilmot out to the field to try and control Michael McKellar-Stewart (33), Michael Hollingsworth (25) and the Little Fish Jason Williams (23). Unfortunately, one of those three failed to capitalise on their start and post a more competitive total with Forth bowled out in the 39th over for 145. The highlight of the innings was the comeback of Craig Steven who was swinging like a rusty gate but only contributing further to the blustery conditions, failing to connect with the ball. Leigh Rowley was outstanding with the ball, bowling 9 overs (4 maidens) and 0-10, supported by Michael Hollingsworth (1-42 from 9 overs) and Geb Davies (1-23 from 2 overs). But an impressive innings by Wilmots Richard Miles (74 n.o) saw the Magpies flying back home without the victory. The Inspirations Paint player of the Round is Marcus The Chill Winter with his incredible acclimatisation to the chilly, cold, rainy conditions, which obviously suit him!! Congratulations Marcus!!

01.01.2022 Gday all, We will run another training session this Sunday 6 October 2019, 11.00am at the club. The rooms are ours now, so, depending on numbers we might look to have a bbq lunch after training.... Could you please let me know if you intend on training. We are just over a week out from our first game and we need to get players registered. I also need to know player availability for the first game. A Grade will be playing at home against Spreyton on Saturday 12 and A Reserve on Sunday 13 at home against Spreyton. The Sunday game is due to several grounds being unavailable. It does provide a great chance for the club to kick start the season financially with games on both days. I am still yet to confirm but I think that we will go to Tuesday / Thursday training after this Sunday. Please make every effort to get there this Sunday, even if it just to sign a form.
