19.01.2022 Sydney Harbour brilliantly illuminated under last night's sunset. It's the beauty of this waterway and surrounds that we celebrate and it's protection that we champion. Be sure to share any of your own images with us on our page or at http://www.friendsofsydneyharbour.org.au

15.01.2022 #FoSH would like to wish everyone a happy #NAIDOC2016 - an important time to recognise and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Indigenous Australia. We would also like to take this opportunity to pay our respect to the First Nation Australians of Sydney Harbour - the Gadigal, Wangal and Gamaragal clans of the Eora Nation.
14.01.2022 There is a "war on the public realm we call 'city' and on the public voice we call democracy." - Elizabeth Farrelly for The Sydney Morning Herald
08.01.2022 A larger park area and a wider foreshore walk (allowing public access to the water's edge) are among the recent changes recommended and approved for Packer's Barangaroo development. Welcome victories for a plight the independent panel expressed "a great deal of sympathy" for.
05.01.2022 Another devastating example of why Sydney needs a unified monitoring body for its Harbour and inlets.
04.01.2022 Tom Uren, former federal Labor deputy leader, was commemorated yesterday on what would have been his 95th birthday. The occasion marked the opening of the Tom Uren trail along foreshore of East Balmain. "Tom's vision was that the harbour should be the people's harbour" says his widow Christine. We hope to continue to champion this same vision Tom and - true to your legacy - fight to improve harbour access for everyone.
01.01.2022 "A wrecking ball hangs over Sydney.." writes Elizabeth Farrelly, "...everything that you (or at least I) love about this town under threat." It are these very proposals - ones that pose a threat to the fabric of our fine city - that we are committed to oppose. We aren't against development, but we do want the impact to constituents and to the land kept front of mind. To put it simply, we (like Ms Farrelly) want the planning back in city planning. What are your thoughts?
