21.01.2022 Yesterday 26 carers across Australia,,completed 31 courses on our website. As we know new placements, crisis’, placement breakdowns and the need for knowledge & support does not stop for Christmas. Foster and kinship care is 24/7 everyday of the year and so is FCOTA.

18.01.2022 Lock-in your January training with FCOTA’s zoom workshops FCOTA is running 2 zoom workshops in January 2021. Trauma Informed Care 11th January 2021 6.30pm to 9pm... Trauma informed care workshop covers: - What is trauma? - What are the principles of trauma informed care? - What does the research tell us about trauma? - The physical and emotional impact of trauma? - Group discussion, review, and feedback. Suicide Prevention and Awareness 12th January 2021 6.30pm to 9pm Do you know that on average 8 people die of suicide everyday in Australia? This is more than double the road toll. Australia has seen a pandemic of suicide in 2020, with youth suicide clusters occurring throughout the country. This workshop covers: - What is suicide - Statistics on suicide in Australia - Myths and facts about suicide - Warning signs, risk and protective factors - What to do if you think someone is suicidal Lets work together to identify the warning signs and protect our young people. All participants will receive a certificate of participation and a copy will be emailed to your casemanager.
