19.01.2022 A lot of parents tell me that they're not sure how their plan is managed. Foundation First is working towards registration at the moment, we can only accept referrals for PLAN and SELF-managed participants. Here, we break it down in simple terms to help you work out how you're managed: You can find out how your plan is managed by looking at how your supports are allocated. At the bottom of each box, it will say how much money is allocated e.g. to Core Supports and how it is ...managed. Self-managed participants manage their own plans without the support of a Plan Manager. They may enlist the assistance of a Support Coordinator to help them find services, determine how to use their funding, or seek reviews with the NDIS. Self-managed NDIS participants can see Registered and Non-registered Providers. Plan-managed participants engaged with Plan Managers external to the NDIS or the ECEI Partner (Northcott, LifeStart, Uniting etc.). A Plan-Manager is responsible for helping a participant find services, paying invoices, coordinating reviews, and managing the funding available. Plan-managed NDIS participants can see Registered and Non-registered Providers. Agency-managed participants are supported directly by the NDIS or ECEI partners (Northcott, LifeStart, Uniting etc.). The NDIS pays invoices on behalf of the participant. Agency-managed NDIS participants can only see Registered Providers.
