17.01.2022 Busy week riding plenty of 2yo's plus getting some xrays by South East Country Vets. Working along with Dr Bill Roughan and our farrier JMG Hoofcare we decided to start preventative radiographs on the reining horses to prepare if any problems were to arise. It was great to see the inside view, measuring angles and checking bone alignment. Definately a great investment for the longevity of horses in training!

04.01.2022 Many of my clients would of heard me say that "Cruelty has no place in training a horse, but consistency does" and "If a horse can't give me one hour of time ou...t of their day then there isn't enough respect in the relationship" Below is a great read confirming some of these thoughts...... "If you don't understand completely how the mind of yourself and the horse you cannot achieve excellence. A scared horse learns nothing, a horse you explain to what you want learns. Repetition solidifies it - wrong in, wrong out....correct in, correct out. Training a horse is like hiring a human that speaks a different language than yourself and you cannot verbably communicate with. If you send that willing, good minded person to do a job and it's a mess and not what you wanted, it's your fault....you failed to communicate your wishes in a way that person could understand. You can teach a horse to hate or love anything, I want mine to love their job. When they're hungry, we bring them their meals, we clean they're room for them everyday, when they're cold we bring them a coat, when they're hot we put a fan on them, when they're sick they don't have to go to a doctors office and wait, we bring the doctor to them, when they need new shoes we bring someone to them to fit their new shoes etc etc. You don't live that well, I don't live that well, for all that, if I cant have 1hr of their undivided attention a day, there's going to be a problem. I'm not talking cruelty, it has no place in horse training, I'm talking about discipline, if you're in a restaurant and a familys kids are running all over the place, they have no discipline. If they quietly and mannerly sit there and eat their meal, its because they have discipline. Trainers make riding complicated, with mental discipline and understanding its as easy as.......left.....right.....go.....whoa"
