23.01.2022 What is known as the world's wettest animal? Rain-deer Saturday was full of rain and wet weather. Whilst we got a start for all grades, only two games fully finished for a win and a draw. Turf 3 Springvale 10/172 drew with Fountain Gate 6/143...Continue reading

20.01.2022 4/4 Junior wins over the weekend takes us to 8/10 wins as a club for this weekend - how good is that?! Under 18’s Our Fountain Gate/Narre Nth side started off with a good win against Berwick. Berwick batted first on an overcast, wet & cold Sunday morning at Max Pawsey only managing to total 78 off their 20 overs. Samir, Adam and Vice-Captain Aydin each picked up two wickets.... Jas 29* and Davi 32 opened the batting for FG/NN making the run chase look easy. We chased down Berwick’s 78 in 13 overs picking up an 8 wicket win. Under 16’s Fountain Gate 2/133 def. Narre Warren 1/128 by 8 wickets. 38* to Mohib and 37* to Muraad helped FGCC chase down 128 set by Narre Warren. A solid first up win to the U16’s! Under 14’s Fountain Gate 3/124 defeated St Mary’s 2/72 by 7 wickets. Harry 26* and Ayaan 27* opened the batting and started off in serious form chasing down St. Mary’s 72 with ease. Jai - in his first ever game of cricket - chipped in with 20 in what was an impressive knock. Johnno was the pick of the FG bowlers, only going for 4 runs off his two overs. Under 12’s Fountain Gate 2/91 defeated Parkfield 5/21. In their first game of cricket back, our U12’s enjoyed being back on the park. Special mention to Ishan 20*, Ryan 15* and Ben 11* for their batting innings Under 10’s Well done to our Under 10’s who took to the park for the first time for most of them! It was a great team effort and a reward to all.

20.01.2022 Gators in the Print Pakenham Gazette Wednesday November 25th, 2020 By Nick Creely; Star News Group... Turf 3 Fountain Gate were on-song to kick start the Turf 3 season with a dominant victory against Coomoora at home. The Gators looked like a side to keep an eye on this season, and certainly proved that early on. The Roos batted first, with opener Rahoul Pankhania (65 not out) carrying his bat through the innings as his side mustered up a competitive 155, with three run outs not helping the cause. But it was with the bat that the Gators truly shone. Opener Stephen White flayed a brilliant 80, with 11 fours and four sixes thrilling the crowd, setting up what was in the end a relative stress-free chase. With White dominating, fellow opener Jahanzeb Mirranay (38) and skipper Caleb Millman (20 not-out) providing strong support as the home team ran away with an eight-wicket win.

19.01.2022 Max Pawsey is looking a dream today We are so lucky to be based where we are and have one of the best grounds in the league. Bring on the site redevelopment over the next 5 years!

18.01.2022 Round 1, baby! It’s been a long time coming. Good luck to our T3, T3 Res & E Grade sides in today’s matches! How good does our new electronic scoreboard look?! ... T3 (1st XI) are playing at home - first ball from 1pm! See you here.

17.01.2022 Gators in the Print Pakenham Gazette Wednesday December 9th, 2020 By Nick Creely; Star News Group... Turf 3 Despite each game getting a strong start, and in all cases almost a complete result, all the matches were drawn in Turf 3 on Saturday after feeling the full brunt of Melbourne’s late afternoon storm. Springvale and Fountain Gate was a match in particular that went right down to the wire before being abandoned. After being sent in by the Gators, Springvale racked up 172 with that bat, with Nuwan Mendis (46) and Hasindu Waduge (41) in the runs. Strong bowling efforts from Dale Jose (3/28) and Mandeep Premi (3/35) kept the score well within reach. Yet another strong display from opener Jahanzeb ‘Johnny’ Mirranay (56) saw the Gators get themselves into a strong position, but the home side fought back well, to leave the visitors 6/143. With 30 to win in six overs and with four wickets in the sheds, the weather had the final say in the match that would have almost certainly gone down to the final over.

13.01.2022 Happy Monday Bring on Round 2 v Silverton!

13.01.2022 4/6 Senior wins on a Saturday. We’ll take that! Turf 3 Our 1st XI chalked up their second win of the season defeating Silverton by 5 wickets to retain top spot on the ladder. Winning the toss and sending Silverton into bat first proved to be a masterstroke as we restricted them to 93 in 34.2 overs. SK picked up 3/10 & a direct hit run out whilst Johnny continued to make the ball talk scalping 2fa. We made the run chase harder than it should’ve been losing 5/17 in the m...iddle overs however Johnny once again dug in and got through with an unbeaten 42*. Turf 3 Reserves The 2nd XI played one of the best one day run chases you’ll see, chasing down Silverton’s 148 with ease in 32.3 overs. Robbo was brilliant early opening the bat with 54 whilst Davi guided the Gators home with his first senior half century - finishing 50*. Juzzy Smith did the damage with the ball claiming 3/23 from 8 whilst Dave, Riles, TMac and Nevey each picked up singles. D Grade A strong selection list meant our 3rd XI is stronger than ever before. Cranbourne won the toss and sent us into bat, which proved a good call early as we lost early wickets. Manesh unlucky on 5 as he creamed one into a Cranbourne players stomach and stuck (no hands required!). Sitting 6/88, we needed something special. First gamers Samir (33) and Lucky (35) piled on a 44 run partnership to finish the innings off as we finished on 157. Cranbourne started off their innings 0/40 before Antony and Lucky were brought on with good effect! Antony (4/19) & Lucky (4/8) cleaned up Cranbourne with regular wickets falling as we bowled them out for 72 - an 85 run victory! E Grade Khalid and his men did what they needed to to pick up another W. Batting first, Fountain Gate posted a formidable total of 9/244 (Samir K 96, Qadir 54 & Jamal 51) in 36 overs. The total was all too big for Doveton as we bowled them out for 183. 2 wickets each to Ali Khawaja, Samir, Zia & Jamal. F Grade Gold ‘The old boys’ as they’re known were unable to get the job done against Narre Warren despite Sohan’s mammoth effort of 6/23 (8) with the ball. Batting first, nobody managed to get their innings going. Anu top scored with 19, whilst Turhan finished with 18 and Big Dan 13* leaving us defending 94. Narre Warren managed to chase the score 7-wickets down in 23 overs. Career best bowling figures for Sohan however - 6fa’s don’t get gifted to people! F Grade Green Sutto and his men suffered a loss in their first game of 2020/21. Batting first, it was young Harry Lees (U14) who stood up with the bat - top scoring with 21. The remainder of the team failed to get past double digits for the day - each registering a single digit score. Defending 79 is always difficult as Lyndale chased it one down with Sutto picking up the only wicket. Training Tuesday & Thursday. 5pm sharp. Spots are competitive this season and we all need to be working hard to ensure our bright start to 2020/21 continues!

13.01.2022 Sunday November 15th, 2020. Practice match v Lynbrook in the lead up to Round 1.

13.01.2022 1st XI Debut Congratulations to Davi Premi who tomorrow is named to make his 1st XI debut. Davi’s been a part of FGCC since first taking to the field for our U11’s in the 2010/11 season. 145 games, 1982 runs, 84 wickets & 2 junior premierships later, Davi gets the nod to make his debut. ... Davi’s had an incredible pre-season & started 2020/21 on fire with scores of 36 & 50* in our reserves whilst peeling off 32 opening the batting in an U18 T20. Davi’s dedication and commitment to the game and our club is second to none and he’s finally seeing the fruits of his labour. Needless to say he’s come a long way from being that 13 year old that waits at the clubrooms until the seniors start to see if anybody was a no-show and could fill in for a game! We’re proud to call Davi our own and can’t wait to see the success he’ll have in the future years at FGCC. Here’s hoping that involves a flag (or two!)

08.01.2022 Under 12s training cancelled due to hot weather see you all Tuesday

07.01.2022 Tonight marked a pretty special milestone for the Gators as Oliver & Elijah Robinson took the field with Chase McLaren in the U10’s. Their fathers - Dan Robinson & Tim McLaren have been playing together for over 20 years at FGCC. They happen to once again grace the field together in our 2nd XI match tomorrow @ home. We think this is an incredibly special thing to happen and one that wouldn’t happen too often. Well done to our U10’s on their first game in green & gold.

04.01.2022 Word on the street travels fast - especially when you’re hitting 80 off 14 overs as Whitey did on Saturday! The Star News Group caught wind of what was happening down at Max Pawsey and sent their photographer down to get a few snaps of the action! Keep an eye out for the Pakenham Gazette tomorrow for a write up on our blistering start to 2020/21.... Photos courtesy of Star News Group.

04.01.2022 Despite the rain this morning, our U18’s are up and about and have a game on! We bowled Berwick out for 78 and are currently 0/42 (7) with Jas 18* and Davi 17*. We’d like to thank a few of the Narre Nth boys who have joined us for the season to get our U18’s going.

03.01.2022 The Fountain Gate Cricket Club held an emergency operations meeting last night and are pleased to announce that we formally requested a 6th senior side to the DDCA last night. Whilst this is yet to be granted, our numbers have been too good to ignore the fact a sixth side is required. This means we’ll have 66+ seniors and 60+ juniors playing with us this season. That’s a total of 120+ active members playing cricket at Max Pawsey Reserve, plus their families and our supporter...s. Well over 200+ people involved at our club! The committee are incredibly proud of the culture we’re building at the moment and these numbers are a true reflection of the hard work and dedication that’s been put in over the past few years. Here’s to bringing home some flags by March 2021! It’s not too late to be a Gator in 2020/21. Social Memberships available ($50) or get in contact if you’re interested in playing cricket in the green & gold!

01.01.2022 When was the last time Fountain Gate won 3/3 on a Saturday? Yesterday Turf 3 Whitey capped off a dominating performance in the 1st XI smashing an astonishing 80 runs off the first 14 overs to leave us with little to do, chasing down Coomoora’s 155 in 19.3 overs. Johnny chipped in with a handy 38 whilst both Milky 20* and Jimmy 11* finished it off. Even spread of wickets with Ray, Johnny & Karan each snaring two a piece. ... Jimmy was a behind the stumps with two catches, a runout and a stumping. Turf 3 Reserves An all round team performance for the Gators notching up our 2nd XI’s first win for the season. Batting first, Fountain Gate put on 157 - Davi 36, Juzzy D & Vanders both 27. An impressive late order flurry from Vanders and Antony was exactly what the doctor ordered. Wickets were spread with Antony & Juzzy Smith both picking up two whilst singles to Riles, Sonny, Rohan & Timmy rounded it out. Matty J was brilliant behind the stumps with a catch, stumping & direct hit run out to finish off the game. Coomoora all out for 124. D Grade Bye E Grade Khalid and his men took to battle with Endeavour Hills batting first who closed their innings 9/170. Two wickets each to Zahel, Khalid, Zaki & Parth. 171 was never in doubt as Fountain Gate chased it 4 wickets down in 25 overs. Zia 49* and Samir 45* closed off the chase in style. F Grade Bye
