22.01.2022 Hello friends, thanks to all who’ve come through and jammed at this little spot! In light of recent cancellations I’ve had to roll out an official policy so here it is: Cancellations will be free with 48 or more hours notice. Within 48 hours I will offer room to anyone on waiting list or advertise the cancelled session so you might avoid the fee. Alternatively you can try and find someone to use the room or even do some solo practice/writing/etc? Cancellations within 24 hour...s I won’t make effort to advertise and will be charged at full rate, $50. Fee must be paid before or at start of your next session. Also, if for some reason your payment isn’t with me at the end of your session, you need to make immediate arrangement with me personally. If a payment is outstanding I can’t book your next. At the moment, it’s advisable to be booking your session two weeks out. Some weeknights are taken by regulars and weekends have become more popular as summer approaches. 14.01.2022 Drummers! (And anyone else after an alternative to disturbing neighbours) If you need to get out of the house for practice, I’m offering some low-price solo practice rates for afternoon sessions. Weekdays until 6pm you can come in and shed for up to four hours for $30. Make that two sessions in a week for $50 and three for $65. Drumkit hire possible, just ask. DM or ask Joel on 0418278716

07.01.2022 A tough decision, but an easy one. I won’t be taking bookings indefinitely, and after Friday there won’t be anyone other than me inside Fountainhead indefinitely. These are strange times, and dangerous times. In faith to my conscience and customers I can’t let the bastard virus be transmitted between these walls. I had initially thought that artists especially need the place now - with all this downtime, because music doesn’t stop, and because creativity spawns from times ...of great struggle. I had visions of constant sanitisation here and even 48 hour gaps between sessions to have us still jamming and creating. But we all have family, friends and ourselves to take care of and I couldn’t let us take a chance. We need to stay home. My fiancée is a nurse and it’s my duty to minimise the risk of me passing anything on to her when she is needed by the community. Rest assured, I’ll be here when things get better. And I’ll make sure this place is better than ever for you to do your thing at. Even if the government doesn’t freeze commercial rents (pretty please!!) I’ll cop it so we and our bands can get back to the music the way we want to. My heartfelt thanks to everybody who has been through to this point. There haven’t been many who have only been once. I have made some amazing friends, and been exposed to great creativity. I love you all and I can’t wait til we see each other again. Peace and love -Joel PS.
