So her friends went to inspiring lengths to ensure it was granted While Pa...rkinsons disease has robbed 87 year old Ms Jacobs of many of life’s pleasures, it couldn’t take away her love of horses. She has devoted her life to them and in return, they’ve given her some of her life’s true highlights. But as she enters the crippling final stages of her condition, she had one simple wish. To ride a horse one last time. And incredibly, thanks to a joint effort between The Care Group and the Green Cross, that dream has come true in the most extraordinary way. Using a specially made supportive sling, she was lifted up to ride not just one but two horses. Most touching of all, the 87 year old is completely expressionless because of the effects of the disease until the horses start moving. Then, her face lights up and beams the most amazing smile. Proving that no matter the age or circumstances, the love for animals never fades
