23.01.2022 We wandered down to the waterfront at low tide and picked half a dozen mussels off the rocks and four oysters. Put them in a pan and ate them. It doesnt get any simpler or fresher than that. There is a sense of the hunter gatherer lifestyle of our forebears. This week we enjoyed 2 barbecues on the beach and one in a forest clearing. This is what this peninsula is all about for the city folk. Come get in touch with nature. The best meals down here are cooked by yourself on a beach with a million dollar view, a cold beer, good company and not a care in the world. When did life get so complicated?

22.01.2022 If we are going to clean extra hard we may as well have fun with it. Personalized Sanitizer for our lovely guests. You guys get out doors. We will take care of the indoors. More updates. We have just completed a wifi upgrade to blue and added an extra heater to each villa (to the heat pump and electric blankets already there). Coming soon.... Trikes and bicycles for the whole family to keep the young ones or couples busy. Free to use! See you soon. Thanks to the six ...families that have booked in for a return visit this June. Thanks for letting us share a little special family time after lock down. To Paula arriving today the fire pit is set up, marshmellows are on the bench and the fish are ready to bite. With the fire pit crackling away and a good bottle of red you will feel pretty toasty even on a colder weekend. Peter and Jen See more

21.01.2022 21 reasons why not to come to Tassie

21.01.2022 Social breaky is back. Great way to start the day. Todays guests include Australians, Swiss and Kiwis. Why not start the day with a bit of bacon and free range eggs on home baked bread. Thanks Janet and Barry, Barbara and family, Cathy and Anthony, Jen, Charlie and Rodrigo. We dont do it every day but we love it when we do. Making the world a little smaller and bringing people together is a great thing. The people who visit our part of the world for the food and nature tend to be lovely folk and that isnt surprising is it! Thanks for joining us today and all the best on your boat cruises today!

20.01.2022 We saw some dolphins yesterday right in front of our house in Little Norfolk Bay. We saw a Southern Right Whale a week or so back at Eaglehawk Neck. Lots of echidnas about and one of our guests said they saw 4 Tasmanian Devils in one drive. Late Spring is a great time to explore. Come and take a break from your mobile phones and tablets and come exploring. You never know what you will discover but you can be sure it will be pretty wonderful. Jen and Outback Billy

19.01.2022 With dolphins in bay out front a couple of weeks back, a pademelon making night time visits and a pair of blue wrens and Tasmanian Green Rosellas frequenting our grounds dont be the last Tasmanian to discover the freedom. With only 3 villas onsite your privacy and peace of mind is ensured. Time for a coffee or wine by the waterfront and a good coastal walk just because you can!

17.01.2022 Ahh there is something about sitting around a fire pit with friends and family. Glass of wine, marsh mellows toasting for the kids. Return to your comfortable villas but there is no real down side to sitting around a fire pit for an hour or two. Often with fantastic stars above. Take a moment!

16.01.2022 Time to relax folks! Come and try a barbecue at our new hand crafted outdoor setting for 10 people. Sea views, open air come on and get outdoors. Or do as we do and borrow a camping stove table and chairs from us and head to the beach for a bbq and swim. If you are still sitting in Melbourne or Sydney traffic it is time for a bit of living!

15.01.2022 We had a hens night a week ago with the cream of Northern Tassie's ladies joining us for a celebration. Nice looking spread from the caterers on the outdoor setting. Thanks Erin for organizing all of that. Hope you all recovered well!

14.01.2022 You might not think of sand dune riding at Cresent Bay Beach when you plan your Tasman Peninsula visit but you should. A one hour 10 min walk brings you to Cre...scent Bay a wonderful beach with vistas out to the islands. We think it is better than Wine Glass Bay. No tourists, enjoy the nature and of course try riding the sand dunes with boogie boards left at the entrance. There was a 60 year old couple riding the day we were there and of course it is a great spot for the teenagers. Another reason one night is never enough down here. See you on the other side of the lockdown. We went here 2 weeks ago before the lock down ramped up. Charlie and James loved it and a great sense of achievement that we all made it. Charlie as a 4 year old, me and Jen sharing Rodrigo in the pouch Peter and Jen See more

14.01.2022 OUr Villas and a taste of life

13.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/CNTraveller/videos/570530843377513/ Three Capes Walk is on the Tasman Peninsula. You can do 1 day walks and you can camp although the accommodation offered is also very nice. Just had a Chinese couple spend a night in the mountains after heading off on a long day walk and getting lost. Thankfully they are okay but a reminder that long bush walks need prepared packs, weather proof gear, a good map and do not suit everyone. There are lots of walks for 10 minutes to 1 1/2 hours which are equally stunning. There is a lot down here. Come down and relax

09.01.2022 Thanks to Max and Beth and Mercy for your support and thanks very much to our guests who have very much supported us. We just went up to 9.4 on booking.com. To put that in perspective at the time of this post the following 5 star + hotels in Melbourne are: Langham 9.3, Grand Hyatt 9, The Westin 9.1, Hotel Windsor 8.8. We know it is a journey still at its begining and we still have a fair bit of improvement in us but we look forward to supporting many families and couples to have some special memories down this way. A second fan and wine glasses on their way thanks to guest feedback. Come join us on this magical journey. Billy and Jen

06.01.2022 We had a hens night a week ago with the cream of Northern Tassies ladies joining us for a celebration. Nice looking spread from the caterers on the outdoor setting. Thanks Erin for organizing all of that. Hope you all recovered well!

05.01.2022 Preparing our social breakfast. Our way to have some chitchat with our lovely guests.

05.01.2022 Well it has been 2 weeks since we began our social breakfasts. It has been wonderful for guests meeting each other as well as us. There have been guests cramming onto one table to be social leaving two other tables empty. We discovered one couple was on their ten year anniversary, another just back from a weeks kayaking the Franklin. It is a nice start to the day with bacon and eggs and good coffee. Thanks to everyone who has joined us so far. We have been really pleased with the response. We have met some really great people. Jen and Outback Billy.

04.01.2022 A pod of 5 dolphins in front of our villas today. Pretty nice to be able to see from looking out over the water from inside our villa. Welcome back amigos. Pictures are a bit distant but 3 in this photo.

04.01.2022 Scrumptious but not so sumptuous. Why not try this seafood platter which is already good for 3...just 20 mins drive from us... #supportthelocals

02.01.2022 Todays suggestion: Lagoon Beach-Head out to the World Heritage Convict Coal Mines Site. Ten minutes further and you are at a scenic coastal spot of Lime Bay. A 45 min walk takes you through to Lagoon Beach (pictured). Pack a picnic and in warmer weather a towel. We are still finding hidden beaches down here.

01.01.2022 It has been a great week. The sun has been shining, the skies blue, the water is shimmering. I have spotted 4 echidnas and there have been two whales frolicking around Eaglehawk Neck for the last couple of days. We have been introducing Chloe our dog to some of our secret beaches for her woof of approval. Those whales are behind me and Jen in photo below but I think below the waves at the time! Wow spring down here and the nature and water is amazing. Do come and visit!
