25.01.2022 A timely article from Boiler Room on the freedom of longer DJ sets. Worth a read before our next party on December 12, where jeromv and Jake Walker will be delving deep during their all-night back-to-back set. https://www.facebook.com/events/1059467397436609/
25.01.2022 Online sales have closed, tickets on the door. See you all tonight at 8:00 for one more dance at Rad.
23.01.2022 We had a fantastic night last night with Jordan Peters, David Bangma and Jake Walker behind the decks for our last show at Rad for the next little while. We'd like to give a special thanks to the wonderful people at Rad and Yours & Owls for not only hosting us over the past year, but in particular for establishing a space that actively fosters and encourages creativity and fun. Regarding our future events though, we'll have a special announcement coming your way tomorrow night....
22.01.2022 Here's the cut from Orion Jarvis' set last Saturday. Probably one of the more jacked-up opening sets we've heard. We didn't mind at all. Have a listen.
21.01.2022 Being a male-dominated crew in an overwhelmingly male-dominated music scene we admittedly do not do enough to provide a space for female artists. Reflecting on this fact on International Women's Day, we would like to make a better effort to resolve this in future.
19.01.2022 Definitely looking forward to NYE. Real happy to see the Yours & Owls crew bringing big things to Wollongong as always.
18.01.2022 Educational mix from UK producer Happa regarding the rave scene of the 1990s. Feels like a documentary; still gets your body moving. Have a listen:
18.01.2022 Throwback to what's definitely been one of our favourite sets at Four4: Wollongong's AKA performing live at our September event at Rad. This night had a definite vibe; refer to video evidence for proof.
18.01.2022 This crept up quick! Tommorow night, our first live-only event with Sydney's Hannah Lockwood supported by Wollongong's Space Bare and Orion Jarvis. It'll be a night of dark brainmelters.
17.01.2022 A great piece from Resident Advisor on the place of dance music spaces within the greater processes of gentrification experienced by (but not exclusive to) NYC. Excellent photography too.
13.01.2022 In the meantime, some of the politicians who want to tell you how to live can barely manage their own lives. Many had their rites of passage at the Cross but now want to deny others the same opportunity. Others just seem worried that somebody might be having a good time. Far more disgusting than what goes on at Kings Cross is people being thrown out of work by nanny-statists and politicians seeking to impose their hypocritical standards on us all.
10.01.2022 Congratulations to Wollongong's Somersault for another stellar release!
07.01.2022 Once more at Rad tomorrow night. Dance the rain and/or pain away to the sounds provided by Jordan Peters, David Bangma and Four4's Jake Walker.
07.01.2022 Saturday night got steamy. Thanks to Hannah, Space Bare and Orion for bringing the heat. Stay tuned for details on the next Four4 event!
06.01.2022 'First they came for the Sydney clubs, and I did not speak out because I was not a Sydney clubber' - DJ Tiesto Throw your support behind Keep Sydney Open. While the lockout laws don't directly affect Wollongong, as a relatively regional city the health of the Wollongong arts and nightlife scenes is in many ways dependent upon the wellbeing of their Sydney equivalents (whether it be through touring opportunities or purely the artistic inspiration they render to us). In any case too, being a city with a history of high levels of alcohol-fuelled violence and minimal police and local government support for music venues, the NSW government could easily impose the same conditions upon us.
05.01.2022 We're looking forward to the coming weekend. The festive season starts Saturday. Be there:
05.01.2022 We're excited for Jordan's set at the upcoming Four4 event at Rad on Jan 30. He'll be sure to flip your head upside down. Be prepared.
02.01.2022 Get your tickets here! Sydney-based DJs Jordan Peters and David Bangma, who'll be undoubtedly bringing their characteristically deep, dark and heavy selections to the floor. http://www.moshtix.com.au//four4-presents-jordan-pet/83458
