24.01.2022 A main bathroom and ensuite to be proud of! Okay, so at this stage you cannot swing a cat in the bathroom, and who has a door leading outside in their ensuite? Cannot wait for the transformation of these two rooms!! Wonder if they will look as good in real life as they do in my head!

22.01.2022 The Gordon Dam Wall is a double curvature concrete arch dam, with a controlled spillway across the Gordon River, in Tasmania...and when you hear about something like this we had to go and see it when in Tassie! Construction began in 1974 and is 140 metres high and 192 metres long. The horizontal wall is curved and the vertical wall is arched, and boy is it impressive to look at.... We ventured down the stairs, the many, many, many, many stairs and walked along the wall. We watched people abseil down the wall, and we marvelled at this engineering feat. We then, of course, had to walk all those stairs back to the top. Make sure to check this out if in the area because the views and picturesque landscape are INSANE!!! #flashback

20.01.2022 Here is the rest of the internals of the house. We have the Dining room and lounge room, master bedroom and two of the remaining three bedrooms. Essentially the bedrooms all looked the same. So, now the the transformations will happen....we have been busy ripping down ceilings, taking out walls and looking organising trades for plumbing and electrical - yes the whole house needs replumbing and rewiring. ... Renovating is exhausting, tiring and yet exciting and exhilarating all at the same time. Looking forward to showing you our house in pieces! PS: Can you guess where the new kitchen will go - yes it will be in one of the rooms pictured here!

19.01.2022 We visited the local shops today and look who we ran into!!! He even photo bombed us

19.01.2022 Well construction is under way. We have removed all the doors to the bedrooms. Most were water damaged and rotting on the bottom. The bath has been removed, and sold to be used for horses water trough. We have decided that these two doors need to go as well. One from the Laundry and one from a living space. Oh, did I mention gyprock, lots of gyprock has been removed as well!!

18.01.2022 Let us introduce you our house, slowly. Week one has been hard work, and I think this is the best way to show you the progress..... So, this is the current Lounge or Dining room and kitchen area We plan to remove the kitchen, remove the wall between the kitchen and other room and the plaster of been along the read of lounge room wall is going as well. ... We cannot wait to see this space opened up and the lovely green removed!! Tomorrow we will see what it looks like with no walls and no kitchen!!

18.01.2022 Our van is out on hire, and while we were all sad to drive our Tin Can to a camp ground, set her up and yet not stay.... we were excited to know that another family would enjoy some time away! The lovely family were not there when we delivered the van, so we left them a little surprise! They just me this lovely message: Annie we are so overwhelmed the van is beautiful! We are so happy the lovely basket on arrival was so nice! You have won us as ongoing customers!... We love that a family can enjoy our van, have some time away to relax and recharge and make memories! Interested? >> http://bit.ly/2QlRe0O

15.01.2022 What a decade! As a family we managed to jam a lot of things into the last ten years. We started the decade with a 6 year old and a 1 year old. We experienced significant loss within our family of a brother and a father, we watched family members fight and win the battle against cancer and we stood behind Pete while he underwent open heart surgery when his mitral valve collapsed. As adults we lost our careers to PTSD, and still fight this personal battle on a daily bases. ...However, we are proud of our careers and what we achieved there. We travelled to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand and did two cruises. We have travelled Australia for four years and watched our children grow from little people into amazing humans, who are not afraid to tackle the world. We have met amazing people, who don’t judge us on our bad days. People who have given us more than we can ever repay in friendship, understanding and laughs. People we are proud to call friends, and who we know have our backs as we have theirs. We have seen and experienced so much, much more than we ever dreamt. We bought a house and have started renovations and we are ending the decade with a 16 year old and 11 year old, in a new state with new dreams. Happy New Year to everyone! We truely hope that 2020 is good to you and that the next decade is kind to us all!

14.01.2022 A trip to Morton Island was a welcome bit of time out for us. Sliding down huge sand hills, sleeping on the beach and enjoying a sunset to die for. This trip was not about exploring, but about regenerating our souls. Taking time to relax, play and make some memories with the kids. If you are in South East Queensland, remember to put this amazing location on your list.

06.01.2022 We would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter, from our family to your family. This year, we are sitting in isolation in our new house in Queensland. We are enjoying the space of a house, and thinking about our fellow travellers who are bunkered down in caravans out on the road. We hope you are all making great memories and doing well. While it may seem never ending, we know this time will end and adventures and experiences will start again. If you are finding it difficult, or just need to vent, we are always here to listen. Happy Easter

05.01.2022 Oh, Bremer Bay in Western Australia was just another one of those places that definitely took our heart when we visited back in 2018! What a stunning and relaxing place this was. The caravan park was awesome and we 100% loved spending the arvo swimming around in the crystal clear waters. #flashback

03.01.2022 Left of Field caravan park was most certainly remembered for its uniqueness that’s for sure! Located 5 minutes from the Mount Field National Park information center in Tasmania the location was perfect and the atmosphere EVEN BETTER!... Power, water, non-powered and pet friendly bush camping sites were available with clean, flushing toilets and showers also on offer. Fires allowed and we especially enjoyed the absolutely AWESOME bush bath and fire that’s for sure!! Coming past? Definitely pop in, you won’t be disappointed... & the park is getting better and better by the minute! #flashback

02.01.2022 The best way to celebrate the lead up to Christmas is by experiencing the beautiful Christmas lights that are displayed. This year we visited the stunning Christmas light display in the Japanese Gardens in Queens Park, Ipswich. We even ran into the real Santa, all the way from the North Pole. All of us from Four Hands would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Let’s take the time to thank those out there at Christmas keeping us safe from fires, violence and other happenings. We hope the New Year brings rains for the farmers and the fires, and that you all are safe. Merry Christmas and Happy Safe New Year.....travel safe everyone!

01.01.2022 Wow, pulling down walls, pulling out sliding doors and designing a new layout is hard work. Exhausting doesn't describe it!! So far we have gone back to studs in most parts of the house. We have removed ceilings, we have had to rebuild the studs in the ensuite due to mould and water damage. We have jack hammered up tiles - oh what joy that is. The dust, the mess, the shards. ... I think we are up and starting work at 7am and falling into bed by 10pm overnight exhausted. We do know that doing the demo ourselves is saving big time on $$, so we have forged ahead. It took us two weeks to completely gut the house! Now I am getting the fun part of finding trades....so many want to tell me how they think it should look, will only talk about what they want to do and what we want done! Onwards and upwards from here - the positive is there is way less green inside the house

01.01.2022 Prior to hitting the road in 2016, we were looking at ways the kids could record our travels, their adventures and their thoughts. We came across the Caravanning with Kids stand at the Newcastle Caravan and Camping Show, and let’s just say the rest is history. When we left home, Liam was 12 and Mia was 7 years old. They both loved the journals, and used them every day (or sometimes once a week) to record their travels, what they had been up to and if they liked or disliked... a place. Mia drew pictures, Liam got photos printed out, and all in all they loved creating these memories!! Mia would spend hours decorating her journal pages with pictures she had taken all thanks to her iPod, Sprocket and flower press and writing about what she has seen, experienced or enjoyed. The kids loved keeping a memory of their time on the road. You can check them out here bit.ly/CWKJournal
