25.01.2022 While cleaners are clothing care experts, they also know a thing or two about household textiles, which, in addition to bedspreads and comforters, include draperies and curtains, blankets, upholstery, slipcovers, decorative pillows, and heirloom textiles. To protect and prolong the beauty of your household textiles remember these basic tips: 1 - Protect all furnishings from sunlight, fumes, and pets.... 2 - Damage, like tears, should be repaired immediately. 3 - Vacuum and/or brush to remove dust regularly. 4 - Follow the manufacturer's cleaning recommendations. 5 - Do not allow the item to become extremely soiled, and have any stains removed immediately. 6 - Do not store household textiles that are not clean and stain free. 23.01.2022 War stories from Helen, part 2 This was one of the poems in her mother's collection of WWII memories. Remembrance. The Anzacs fought for you and me,... They died to keep their country free; Loyalty did they defend Their land and country to the end. Their memory will still live on Even though they’re dead and gone, And life will go on as before Without the misery of war. Janine Clarke (11) Exton (exact year unknown)

13.01.2022 Build-up from deodorant and antiperspirant products can cause fiber damage and yellowing. Blue and green on silk and wool are particularly prone. Avoid overuse and allow antiperspirant/deodorant to dry before dressing. Bring in Soiled garments as soon as possible.

12.01.2022 Does Insect Repellents Damage Clothes? Repellents usually will not damage most fibers; however, some products contain alcohol and can cause color loss or color change on fabrics such as acetate and rayon. Make sure to read the label carefully, especially if applying directly to clothing.

08.01.2022 War stories from Helen, Fourways Drycleaners newest seamstress. Throughout WWII Helen's mother, then aged about six, started to fill an unused school exercise book with stories collected from the newspapers and magazines on the War. Flicking through a copy of the original, there are some incredible stories, quotes and even old poems that we will share with you over the next week. Helen comes from a military family with her pop being a Sergeant in the Military Police and serve...d in the Brighton Army Camp. She is also an ex-serving member herself from 44 Transport here in Devonport. Fourways Drycleaners are offering 20% off the drycleaning of military uniforms for Anzac day 2021, this week and next week, so you can pack your dress uniforms away for storage until you need them again with the confidence knowing they have been cleaned before storage.

08.01.2022 ‘We Will Remember Them’ As we all remember, last year a lot of events were cancelled or changed. Including our Anzac Day services. Some lit up their driveways with candles or torches in memory of the Anzacs and serving members of our forces past and present at dawn behind closed gates, and others held their very own service their way.... This year, as a mark of respect, let us grab our dusty uniforms from deep within our storage cupboards, drop them into Fourways Drycleaners for cleaning, and let us wear our uniforms with pride once again on Anzac Day. Fourways Drycleaners are offering 20% off dry cleaning of all Military uniforms for Anzac Day 2021, for the week before and the week after Anzac Day, so you can pack your dress uniforms away for storage until you need them again with the confidence knowing that they are clean. #20%off

Today is the last day for the 20% off dry cleaning of Military uniforms. #Anzac2021... This poem is called; Celestial Appreciation The Secretary stood at the pearly gate, His face was worn and old, harp- He meekly asked the "Man of Fate" For entry to the fold. "What have you done," St. Peter asked, "To gain admission here?" "I've tried to please my members, Sir, As Sec. for many a year." The pearly gates swung open sharp; St. Peter touched a bell. "Come in," said he, "and take a harp- You've had enough of hell." Author unknown (exact date unknown) Thank you Helen for sharing these with us.
