20.01.2022 ROADY 4 ROADIES ADELAIDE SUNDAY 24th MARCH 2019 Supporting those who make our dreams come true... Adelaide Sun 24th March Roadies are literally killing themselves! Live production crew are the unseen but essential backbone of the music events that we all enjoy, but these roles can often take their toll on those involved. A 2015 Entertainment Assist study, conducted by Victoria University, revealed shocking rates of mental health problems within the entertainment industry. Figures showed the rate of attempted suicide in the industry is more than double the rest of the population. Scarily, it also found road crew members considered taking their own lives nearly nine times more than the general population. Independent figures have shown one in six roadies commit suicide, over eight times the national average!!! Roady4Roadies will take place in Adelaide on March 24th - and is open to the public and industry alike. 100% of all proceeds will go to Support Act - www.supportact.org.au The aim of Roady4Roadies is to bring public awareness to the diverse range of highly technical and creative skills required to make our dreams to come true, and raise desperately needed funds to help those in crisis. The day commences with the inaugural Roady4Roadies Walk (a leisurely 4kms) culminating in a variety of family activities and performances.. Walk participants receive a free t-shirt & crew laminate - with sunscreen and bottled water available along the route. Registration opens at 10.30am, Creswell Gardens (east Gate Adelaide Oval) then at 11.30am walk begins to the Entertainment Centre. Then there's the Crewathlon, a fun & friendly competition for teams of roadies, with events including the Cable Comp, Stage Manager Sprint, Lighting Crew Limbo and Sound Crew Shimmy! The day concludes with prizes, speeches and live entertainment. Renowned music industry figure & author Stuart Coupe is the Roady4Roadies Ambassador. Stuart’s most recent publication, ‘Roadies The Secret History of Australian Rock N Roll’ documents the history of crew, their trials, tribulations, successes and humour. It’s now available at www.roady4roadies.com Roady4Roadies is being staged by a voluntary team of Australia’s leading live production personnel and industry professionals. All proceeds go directly to Support Act. 09.01.2022 We hope you've all been well. Quick hi from us. Alby is still getting around. Today he was the entertainment at Superloop 500 while we were all working backstage. For those who never met Alby, he was our Kangaroo that lived in the greenroom at Fowlers Live.

08.01.2022 For those of you who have read the stories and signed the petition about Thebarton Theatre possibly being demolished to make way for the new highway. Please note, the government has just granted Thebby $500,000 for upgrades such as airconditioning in the venue. There are 3 possible plans for the new highway and 2 include tunneling. There is no 1 plan set in concrete just yet so Thebby may still survive. We can only wait and see and pray to the music gods that it stays. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2248787798573923&id=158532174266173
