25.01.2022 Ive been absent for sometime with only having the jet ski to fish from. The ski served me amazingly well giving me the opportunity to chase my favourite species, Tuna. I have a Tinnie now and look forward to more time with flies in hand. Its been a while but have managed a couple of flatties on my last couple of trips.
25.01.2022 Its been a crappy end to the year with mechanical failure of my ute, and no wheels to get out fishing for the last 6 weeks or so. With some luck I will be back to some fishing in the new year, thank you for page likes and your support. Best regards James
25.01.2022 The moment we all dream about, being in the right place, at the right time, oh and there is no room or time for farting about in this situation, so be prepared. Its called SerenFishity Where Angler Opportunities, Preparation, and Big Fish meet!
24.01.2022 One thing I do miss about tying pro is being able to see the results of good flies in customers hands. I also loved the chance to be creative and the opportunity to always grow as a tier. Maybe one day I will get my mojo back and re enter the game some where along the way!!
21.01.2022 The Boat has been a slow process to date, this is from a month or so ago, the hull has been faired, bogged where needed and a new skin of gel coat has been applied to bum and sides. Good mate Julian has been a legend helping me with his intimate knowledge of boats. I am Hoping to be ready in a couple of months for the up and coming Longtail Tuna season. I Cant wait :D
21.01.2022 I am dying to get more fly fishing done, like most folks who work hard! Owning a Jet Ski as my fishing machine this last year has limited opportunity with fly dramatically, none the less it has also opened other doors that I would not otherwise have been able to achieve. I have been very lucky to be getting stuck in with the spin gear during the last Summer Tuna Season. Once my boat is complete I will have more to share I am sure, my first target for Moreton Bay will be the ...Longtail Tuna and Mac Tuna, I have caught Mac Tuna on Fly in FNQ but not from the bay. Happier days are just ahead but I am not sure about getting these big stubborn brutes on fly, they are even tough going on spin gear :D. I am keen to have a crack or 2 this season though! Who else loves Tuna? I dont mind if you wish to share your catches here ~~~~<*}))))>< A big thanks to everyone who has liked the page! See more
19.01.2022 Not real good pics but I did get chance to tie up a few more Minnows and Candies. Slapped together on Wednesday!
18.01.2022 Tuna have arrived in good numbers around the North of Moreton Bay I picked up this one last week on a metal slug, it measured about 110cm or so and gave me hell for 30minutes on the Jet Ski, I have been contemplating having a crack on fly real soon whilst they are fairly thick in numbers, I think a 10w should do the trick, I just dont want them this big on fly, hahaha too much hard yakka for this old fella!.
18.01.2022 If you are keen for dedicated saltwater fly group, check us out, global members and wealth of knowledge for those beginning their own fly journey or those just wishing to share their own experiences.
18.01.2022 I came up with the idea of these way back originally with Australian Bass in mind and basically a new take on a spinner bait. I plan to tie up some more when I get chance for personal use. The general consensus is that they would be worth a shot on the Bass, what do you think??
18.01.2022 Just a small flash back on some Shrimp/Prawn flies that proved highly popular when I was tying, I must admit I really hated tying them being so time consuming, but I sure liked the end results.
15.01.2022 Nice to tie up some randoms for the small fly box
15.01.2022 Applications were plenty with the ol Squidz pattern, these incorporated a rattle too. First choice targets were Jew and Snapper. Its Nice to look back on some history and a big part of what got me into fly fishing was wanting to use my own flies.
14.01.2022 I am yet to work out how to transport my rigged fly rod on my jet ski, fishing from a jet ski presents several challenges in it self as one may expect, but safe cartage is the first priority. If any one has any thoughts feel free to comment. All my surf candies will need to get soaked at some point. I could easily have landed a few on fly earlier in the week with small mac tuna all under, and around me. No doubt there will be plenty of other days to come..
13.01.2022 If you are going to be addicted to something it may as well be something that gives you a natural high, something that hurts no one and something you can savour long after the moment has passed. My name is James and I am a Tuna addict! I cant wait for my next fin fix!
13.01.2022 Borrowed image :D
12.01.2022 With my recent Tuna encounters I have been busy overthinking everything like a pining puppy. Bottom box on the right is mostly Candies but I think I need some more.... Left is pretty much flats stuff, top left mostly Things and clousers on the right. I am always prepared :D This is probably only half of what I have around the place, not all for tuna of course.
11.01.2022 It wont be long and the bigger tuna will start to invade Moreton Bay in greater numbers, a couple of weeks ago I found some huge schools of small Mac Tuna out in the Northern Bay and was lucky enough to nail about 15 on metal slugs, I am not a strictly fly kind of fella, in fact I do whatever I feel like on the day, always have, I prefer to experience all forms of fishing and dont just tend to focus on one. Having said that I am keen on my next Jet Ski adventure to ensure the 8w is locked and loaded in readiness for this kind of sight! Lots of Birds and lots of hungry fish, a fishers dream really.

09.01.2022 I have been dying to get out, 4 weeks with no fishing is busting my chops
07.01.2022 Rainy and boring, so I have done these 2 Dvds and tied a couple to keep me occupied and inspired. <}))))>< Fish On.
06.01.2022 Not tying pro anymore, but would like to share the patterns if anyone is looking for stuff to tie
05.01.2022 With Flatties season upon us I have tied up a dozen Clousers, couple in there with brush collars so not exactly Clousers but if anyone is after a few to top up. Mix of colours all size #1. Inbox me.
03.01.2022 Hervey Bay Tuna seconds before being mauled by Sharks. First fish on and last during that trip
03.01.2022 Here is a good reason why I do not like Welded loops, this one popped on a Barra through the week. Normally I just prefer to chop em off and add a braided loop but let this one slide. I lost my fly which bugged me more!
03.01.2022 Now on Instagram @foxiesfishonfly2 Time to move with the times a bit more hey
02.01.2022 It aint often you will spot huge spanglies, Geets and reef sharks going nuts up top. Calm before a storm
02.01.2022 Look like a damned fine DNA Bush Pig to me.
02.01.2022 Snealy Peak. Later in the year I will be making use of the extra space, there will be somewhere to hang up a couple of fly rods and concentrate a bit more on my fly passion in general. The Jet Ski is an awesome spin platform but a tough gig with a fly rod.
