25.01.2022 Anglicare WA with a throw back to a concert we had at Foyer a couple of weeks ago! Whos ready for round 2?
25.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day. A day to remember past policies of forced child removal and acknowledge the ongoing impact and trauma that this removal from family, community and country has had on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise the grief, suffering, loss and resilience of the Stolen Generations and all those affected by it. We say sorry to all those affected by the Stolen Generations and to those who never made it home. For more information on National Sorry Day please check out Reconciliation Australia.
24.01.2022 #Repost @anglicarewa with @make_repost MABO DAY Today we celebrate the life and achievements of Eddie Koiki Mabo, who fought to overturn the legal fiction of 'terra nullius' and paved the way for the ancient sovereignty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over this land and its waters to be legally acknowledged. In honour of Mabo Day, we would like to share this beautiful artwork created by WA artist @jdpenangke, which symbolises the guidance provided by ...Aboriginal peoples as we discuss the future. Although this day also marks the close of National Reconciliation Week, this does not draw a line under our commitment to reconciliation. We truly believe that we are #InThisTogether - and we will always work to ensure that the voice of Aboriginal peoples permeates the work we do, both in our organisation and in the communities we serve. #NRW2020 #MaboDay #InThisTogether2020
24.01.2022 Happy Tuesday Heres to the first week of school holidays!!
24.01.2022 In line with the Government of WA legislation, Foyer Oxford is required to maintain a Mandatory Contact Register for all guests and visitors. If you host or attend an event, or deliver an outreach or appointment based service at Foyer Oxford, you will have to record your attendance. You can do this by scanning the QR code with your Safe WA app or by completing a paper-based register.... Fortunately, young people who live at Foyer Oxford are not required to complete the register, as this is their home. Contact Registers are mandatory, we appreciate your help and understanding, and for doing your part to keep WA safe. You can find out more by visiting the Government of WA website, wa.gov.au #safewa

And remember it’s ok to not be ok.
20.01.2022 Been busy at Foyer planting our summer crops! So far we have planted corn, lettuce, beans, blueberries, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes and some sun flowers in the courtyard. What else should we plant?
19.01.2022 A throw back to early March when we our courtyard had a long awaited makeover! These pictures were taken mid tidy and do not do the work done by these amazing humans justice Massive shout out to all the awesome people who made this possible. In particular the guys from Yardmasters who did everything from installing new reticulation and green grass, too pruning our fruit trees, clearing our overgrown and dead planter boxes and sowing new plants and all pro bono! Thank you for all you hard work and skill

18.01.2022 This picture was taken during Covid restrictions when we were running our community dinners through Zoom. It's a bit of a blast from the past but reminder of how fortunate we to be able to have our Community Dinner's in person with the easing of restrictions in WA. To our friends on the east coast we're thinking of you! As much as we loved being able to use technology in connecting with others during lock down it is just not the same as doing so in person!

10.01.2022 One of the activities run by our resi workers is a Yarning circle. This space is for our young guys to open up, talk and listen in a safe and supportive environment. Conversation can range from everyday yarns to normally "taboo" topics. Covering everything from anger, relationships, toxic culture and boundaries to name a few. Providing a safe space for participants to be vulnerable, explore, engage and to listen to others is important and we are lucky to have skilled facilitators and willing participants at Foyer.
08.01.2022 It’s Ok to Not Be Ok. We all go through rough patches and starting a conversation with someone you trust can be the gateway to help and recovery.
