23.01.2022 Madness indeed!
21.01.2022 Frackman blasts the gas fracking crew, he reckons the gas cartel are ripping us off and Mr Morrison is helping them. Tell us what you think!
20.01.2022 2 years ago this week the WA Government lifted the ban on fracking over large parts of WA. But people have continued to stand strong and push back. No fracking has happened since then in WA, though there is now an application, and gas & oil exploration ramping up. Let’s stay strong!
19.01.2022 Join us for this eye opening event with insight into the influence of the gas (fracking) lobby on WA politics. Tickets are free but limited - follow this link to reserve your seat today: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/captured-state-report-and-c
15.01.2022 It's a fracking hell right across many parts Australia. Almost every Australian state and territory has seen fossil fuel projects quietly given the green light, just this week. Take action: www.frackfreewa.org.au/petition (and share it with family and friends if you’ve signed already!)
12.01.2022 Woah! Gas exporters across Australia use more gas just to run their export terminals than our entire manufacturing industry, and consume 40 times more gas than used by the entire chemical industry! Full story: https://www.tai.org.au//gas-export-12-times-larger-gas-man
11.01.2022 From casual cafe meetings with high level ministers to same-day political donations, 350 Perth's 'Captured State' report highlights 'the extraordinary access gas companies and lobby groups have to ministers in charge of regulating the sector.' The powerful influence of the gas industry on WA politics is delaying climate action, leading to the destruction of Aboriginal cultural heritage and corrupting our democracy. https://www.watoday.com.au//too-close-to-the-flame-wa-gove
11.01.2022 Great News! For 11 years Buru Energy has had a proposal for a fracked gas pipeline from the Kimberley to the Pilbara lodged with the Federal Government under th...e E.P.B.C. act. On the 6th of November the proposal was withdrawn. Whilst this is great news we know more proposals to frack the Kimberley are ahead of us and we must remain vigilant. 09.01.2022 Great stuff happening in the NT in the push back against fracking there. Always was, always will be. #NAIDOC2020
09.01.2022 It's risky, it's unnecessary (we don't need the gas) and extensive community surveys and polling has shown that people across the Agriculture region, and wider WA do not want it. Why is the government allowing this exploration, and why did they lift the moratorium on fracking in this area and the Kimberley? Our newest petition is here: http://www.frackfreewa.org.au/petition Signed already? Share it! (though note: If you share this post, facebook will only share the article, n...ot all this text and the petition link. You can copy the text of this post, before tapping on share). You can also sign up to volunteer: http://www.frackfreewa.org.au/volunteer Like in NSW with the Narrabri gas project, locals aren't giving up on stopping fracking gasfields, and so we shall keep supporting them and growing the social movement until we do! https://stockhead.com.au//suddenly-gas-is-back-as-explore/
05.01.2022 Today at 9.3Oam WA time. Yawuru elder from the Kimberley, Micklo, will be speaking.
05.01.2022 A great write up about this recent court case in the NT: "The ‘damage’ in question consisted of three shallow holes, drilled using a bobcat that was driven by a young Aboriginal custodian, co-defendant Conrad Rory, during a protest over the NT government’s recent decision to lift a moratorium on shale-gas fracking across the region."
04.01.2022 WA is generating so much solar power that the state-owned distribution network is paying customers to use electricity. Clearly, we don't need to sacrifice our Kimberley and Agriculture regions for (fracked) gas! 01.01.2022 A gas-led recovery won’t create jobs, so who benefits? Gas has been front and centre of the government's COVID-19 recovery plan. But that it would lead to manufacturing jobs is "wishful thinking", according to the Grattan Institute. GEORGIA WILKINS in Crikey ...Continue reading
