23.01.2022 So excited to announce that I am the 2018 winner of the Ampersand Prize. I've followed the Ampersand Prize for years and never dreamed I'd win it! I can't wait to work with Hardie Grant Egmont to get my novel into shape for a release date in 2020.

22.01.2022 This came out a couple of weeks ago but it's worth throwing it out there ... I used to quite admire Razer growing up (her audacity appealed to my Nineties sensibilities) but she's kind of lost the plot recently. This article summarises a lot of adults' snobbery towards YA literature - basing their entire assessment of a category on the biggest bestsellers, and getting it wrong. http://dailyreview.crikey.com.au/attention-young-adul/12911

22.01.2022 Danielle Binks debunks that Razer article more eloquently than I can manage before my coffee - a great read: http://www.killyourdarlingsjournal.com//ya-bashing-sexism/

20.01.2022 So stoked with this lovely review from Readings. makes me want to write another book. https://www.readings.com.au//stars-like-us-by-frances-chap

09.01.2022 Everyone! I wrote a blog! (Exciting stuff.) It's aimed at writers of teen fiction on Wattpad, but if it sounds interesting to you, knock yourselves out. https://fcharleschapman.wordpress.com//how-to-write-a-gre/

07.01.2022 So excited to speak with Sandie Docker on Friday Book Bites today!

07.01.2022 New arts and culture commentary from some friends and fellow writers ... definitely worth a read http://thecringeblog.com/

04.01.2022 This is interesting: I'm struggling a bit to define the category for my current novel, which is really a coming-of-age story featuring young adult characters. As a category, "New Adult" makes sense: my characters are on the cusp of adulthood, and the transformative event of the novel allows them to emerge from the chrysalis. http://www.naalley.com/p/about.html

02.01.2022 There's a story in each of these... the Wakehurst Parkway gave me chills... http://www.xploresydney.com/top-5-most-haunted-places-in-s/

01.01.2022 How lovely to sit down with Ken Ward to talk about the ins and outs of writing, the gaps we leave in our stories, and how to balance commercial considerations against artistic integrity (spoiler alert: I have none of the latter.)
