Gallery hanging and ready to display.... Tom had many solo exhibition and sold works Worldwide. He was a dedicated artist, starting up the Strickland Gallery on the slopes of Mt Wellington, which became the stunning Wellington Gallery. This painting , with its’ evocative distant mist in the gums and an abstract figure on the log bridge allows you to fall into those moments in the bush when all thoughts are gone, and all there is is nature determining your path. This is special to me: my father sold some of our childhood land to Tom to build the gallery, and I well remember this lovely artist. $125 Lenah Valley

Lovely source of history and other photos of Tas in that era. Topics covered include the hydro development in the Central Highlands, West Coast history and unique black and white plates throughout. Some truly original pieces of historical fact are in these pages.... $35 Lenah Valley

13.01.2022 MOONBIRD PEOPLE BY PATSY ADAMS SMITH (1975): SOLD PP 'Moonbirds - the migatory mutton birds - homeless, it is said, since the moon fell off the face of the earth and left them behind. Patsy Adam Smith was sent by an Australian magazine to the Furneaux group of islands, in Bass Strait, to write a documentary feature about these birds and the people whose very existence depended upon them. The photographer who went with her stayed three days, in what he called "the end of the... flaming earth". Patsy Adam Smith remained for years. Her love of this group of islands of Tasmania, leads to a great read and insight into a vital part of islander history. I still remember reading this book the first time around, and loved it. I had travelled to the islands several times but this dropped me right in head first. ( this is an extra copy). A particularly good author. $25 Lenah Valley

A Tasmania zoologist , known as Peregrine, when writing for The Mercury. His collection of books are well worth having and provide an enjoyable and information read, some being harder to find than others. Binding strong and pages in good condition.
