24.01.2022 Perfect program to support community ideas come to life, especially if in Swipers Gully.

24.01.2022 Are you a local Business? Have you been impacted by Covid-19? If so, please complete Councils Business Recovery survey so the right support can be given.

23.01.2022 Does your garden need some attention? I know mine does. If so, don’t miss the opportunity to make use of the free green waste drop off.

21.01.2022 There is a very scared kangaroo on Main Road between Wattletree Road and Railway Road Eltham. Please take care and slow down.

20.01.2022 Even though most of us in Swipers Gully live in urban Nillumbik we should still be just as prepared for the bushfire season as our brothers and sisters in the rural parts of the Shire. Check out this great project for bushfire preparedness from Nillumbik Council. https://fb.watch/1rekCkmRas/

19.01.2022 I’m really honoured to have been elected as councillor to represent Swipers Gully Ward and the wider Nillumbik community. I want to try and play a part in bringing Council and community closer together and healing some of the divisions of the past. Thank you to the people of Swipers Gully for entrusting me with this role.... I am looking forward to getting back out into the community and strengthening my relationships with residents, groups, clubs, families and businesses.

17.01.2022 Did you know Nillumbik has a Community Directory? It's a great way to find out what's on offer in the Shire. If your community group or organisation would like to be listed in the directory, look at creating an account, it's free. Let's get Swipers groups listed and promoted.... https://www.nillumbik.vic.gov.au//Comm/Community-Directory See more

15.01.2022 It was great to attend the last meeting at MASSG - Montmorency Asylum Seekers Support Group. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month and new members are welcome. Thanks for inviting me, I loved hearing about all the wonderful work you do.

15.01.2022 Thank you all for your messages of support. The election manager has provisionally declared a win for me in Swipers Gully. The VEC are currently doing a recount and as soon as I have the final figures I will post them here. This is a huge honour and I look forward to representing Swipers Gully and working with our community.

13.01.2022 Please send feedback to Council on the importance of Community Engagement, let our voices be heard.

12.01.2022 This week Vicki Ward MP for Eltham, Danielle Green MP - Member for Yan Yean, Mayor Peter Perkins and myself visited the Diamond Creek Mens Shed for a welcome back to the shed BBQ. All men were happy to get together in person after such a long break due to Covid19 restrictions. It was great to see how much the shed has developed since I last visited too.

11.01.2022 Are you able to help students at St Helena with work experience?

11.01.2022 Last night I was elected as Nillumbik's Deputy Mayor for the coming year. Thank you to my fellow councillors for entrusting me with this role - it is an honour to have this opportunity. And congratulations to Cr Perkins who was elected Mayor - I look forward to supporting you in this position. It will be a big year as we get to work on the Council Plan and Community Vision for the next four years. I look forward to bringing my professional experience to the table to support these plans and the work of Council more broadly.

05.01.2022 I am really looking forward to starting the next part of my journey. It starts tomorrow evening when I am sworn in as Councillor to represent not only Swipers Gully but the Nillumbik community. Please join me via the livestream event.

05.01.2022 Great news, following on from my conversations with the Governance Team at Council, the engagement survey submission date has been extended until midnight Sun 15 Nov 2020. This is only the first step, there will be further opportunities for public feedback on the draft policy. The communications and engagement plan will be prepared taking into consideration different methods of engagement such as workshops, forums, Q&A sessions and direct online feedback of the draft policy.... Community consultation is a key priority for me as your councillor. I'm glad that Council will be including my suggestions as part of a comprehensive consultation process. Once councillors have been sworn in, further details will be made available to community. This policy is the underpinning plan to all that Council does and how it interacts with community through its services and programs. Please share this and encourage as many people within the Nillumbik community to complete. Let's give ourselves a voice.

04.01.2022 Thanks to all who attended our community meeting in Research on Sunday 21 March. Even though it rained most of the day, we still managed to get over 40 residents attend - all wanting to chat to us, which is great. The next step for Cr Ben Ramcharan - Nillumbik Council and I is to continue to action or hold further conversations around all the issues raised on the day (post it notes). I’m also looking forward to meeting more residents as I arrange further community pop-ups in parks and reserves around Swipers Gully.

04.01.2022 This looks great, check it out.

02.01.2022 An amazing new cricket program offered for children of all abilities. Research is the first Cricket Club in Victoria to try this initiative. Do you know a child that this program might suit?

02.01.2022 I want to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, supporters, team and the Swipers Community. You all helped in different ways to get me over the line. You are Fran-tastic! All the emails, calls and messages of support I received over the course of my journey, made running a campaign during a pandemic a lot easier. The election manager has declared a win in Swipers Gully. The VEC did a recount and I received the figures this afternoon ... - Frances Eyre 3752 to Zac Lombardo 2544. I would like to acknowledge Zac and all of the other candidates for the campaigns they ran and I wish them all the best. The Nillumbik community are lucky to have so many passionate community members all looking to support the Swipers and Nillumbik community. I am lost for words on how to express my sincere gratitude, but I genuinely say thanks. Such an auspicious occasion as yesterday marked the 100 year anniversary of when Mary Rogers the first Victorian Female Councillor was elected. This is a huge honour and I look forward to representing Swipers Gully and working with our community. Fran
