21.01.2022 Meet the cast of Chameleon series - Introducing Felicity Boyd! Felicity is a dancer and choreographer based in Adelaide, South Australia. ... Felicity toured Sweden in 2018 as part of dance company ilYoung. She worked as a replacement dancer on ADT’s ‘South’, performed with Lewis Major Projects on ‘Losers’, and with APHIDS on ‘Howl’. In 2019, Felicity co-founded Motus Collective, which has since performed at Vitalstatistix’ Adhocracy, Australian Dance Theatre’s Rough Draft, Splendour in the Grass, and in 2020 performed weekly at Arthur Art Bar at SALALa Land, ´HyperObject’ for Tom Borgas’ InSpace development, and received The Mill’s Spotlight residency. Felicity has most recently been commissioned by ADT to choreograph for ‘The World’s Smallest Stage’. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts (Dance) from Adelaide College of the Arts. Pictured is the cast: Felicity Boyd, Taylor Nobes, Britt Plummer, Jules Mayer and Bronwyn Palmer. Love this incredible team, and the brilliant Hew Parham our director! And Taylor Scheid our fabulous technician!... Huge thanks also to Erin Perrey, Zola Allen, Poppy Mee and Oliver Nilsson. 13.01.2022 Meet the cast of Chameleon series- Britt Plummer of FRANK. Theatre Britt is an actor and theatre-maker, an acting graduate of the Adelaide College of the Arts, and studied two years with Philippe Gaulier at his school in France. ... Her recent credits include: in 2019 performing with Punctum (VIC) in ‘Public Cooling House’ at WOMADelaide, and Bunjil Place in Climate + Art = Change Festival, with Stan’s Cafe (UK) in ‘Of All The People In All The World’, for DreamBIG Children’s Theatre Festival, and with Flabbergast Theatre (UK), in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe hit, ‘The Swell Mob’ at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. In March 2020, Britt performed alongside other local creatives with APHIDS (VIC) in ‘Howl’ presented by APHIDS, Vitalstatistix, RCC and AGSA as part of the Monster Theatres’ Program. In August 2020 Britt directed Dan Thorpe in ‘You Are Jeff’ as part of the Vitalstatistix Adhocracy residency program. She is a trained singer, and has experience in clown and bouffon. During her time at AC Arts you may have seen her as the fierce Tamora in ‘Titus Andronicus’, directed by Charles Sanders, or shifting between multiple characters in Jim Cartwright’s ‘Road’ directed by Chris Drummond.... What are you reading/watching Taylor? I’m reading Clementine Ford’s ‘Fight like a Girl’ and currently re-watching Glee, the Twilight Movies, and the crows lose. What’s your dance floor jam? ‘Truth Hurts’ Lizzo and ‘Single Ladies’ Beyonce. What’s something unexpected that brings you joy? Going to the Clipsal with Dad (every year since I was 8 years old) and walking around Kmart by myself (10/10 would recommend). 06.01.2022 Meet the team of Chameleon series - Director and Collaborator: Hew Parham Hew Parham is a graduate of Flinders University Drama Centre, The Hunter Gates Academy of physical theatre in Edmonton Canada and in the Pochinko Clowning Method at The Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance (MCCP) in Ontario, Canada. Hew has also trained with British Physical Comedy troupe Spymonkey in London, England and Italian clown Giovanni Fusetti.... Hew has developed several solo shows with his comedic characters such as: ‘Giovanni’ (New York Clown Theatre Festival, The Wonderland Festival, and Adelaide Fringe Festival), and Schmoo in ‘Odyssey Schmodyssey’ (Sangeunay Arts Festival, Quebec Canada). In 2016 Hew was commissioned to produce a new work at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival ‘Rudi’s The Rinse Cycle’, he also performed in the Kurt Weill dedication performance ‘The Weill File’. Last year Hew performed with British company Flabbergast Theatre in their show ‘The Swell Mob’ (Adelaide Cabaret Festival), and created the hyperactive twins ‘The Riddalin Brothers’ with Callan Fleming (Adelaide Fringe Festival) Hew has worked extensively as a performer with various companies including Melbourne based company Bunk Puppets to tour their show ‘Sticks Stones Broken Bones’ overseas. Other credits includes: ‘Me and My Shadow’ (Patch Theatre Company); ‘Boo’ (Windmill Theatre Company); ‘Superheroes’ (Stone/Castro); ‘Blister’ by Sarah Peters (Holden Street Theatres); and ‘If you can learn to fake authenticity you have it made‘ by Rebecca Meston, (Feltspace). 03.01.2022 We are absolutely thrilled to be have been awarded a four-week residency at The Mill's Breakout courtesy of The Mill and Adelaide Fringe. We start our residency next Monday! Director Britt Plummer will be collaborating with Swedish artist Oliver Nilsson (The Latebloomers’ ‘The Bakers’ and ‘Scotland!’) to continue creation of his debut solo show ‘The Baroque’, and their first show together. ‘The Baroque’ is running free in hedge mazes and drinking champagne from nude fountain...s. Bursting with silliness Oliver will charm and titillate in this rollercoaster of stupidity, slapstick and the sublime. The rubber-faced Nilsson - a kind of tall, Nordic Rowan Atkinson. (The West Australian) We are thankful for the continued support from The Mill. 03.01.2022 Meet the cast of Chameleon series - Introducing Bronwyn Palmer! Bronwyn has recently returned from Paris on completion of her two-year Diploma at the Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq specialising in mime, clown, and bouffon. Previously Bronwyn has studied Jazz voice at the Elder Conservatorium as well as being trained privately in music theatre and opera. Bronwyn is developing a children's Opera with Co-Opera. This production will introduce children in schools... around South Australia to opera. Her performing experience includes chorus for Madame Butterfly with State Opera of South Australia’s, Onegin (2017) and the role of Servilia (2016) in the Intermezzo production of Clamenza Di Tito for Co-Opera. Bronwyn has also been involved in many community plays and musicals over the past 12 years. What are you reading / watching Bron? The final in the 18 book Amelia Peabody series written by Elizabeth Peters. The series is about a Victorian era detective, archaeologist and suffragette in Egypt. I'm trying to tie this back to the show but...... What is your dance floor jam? Funk, jazz, but especially interpretative dancing to 80's pop. ‘Dance With Somebody’ - Whitney Houston. Julia has worked with various South Australian companies including Colourwheel Productions, Splash Theatre, Tutti Ensemble, State Theatre of SA and FRA...NK. Theatre.
