25.01.2022 Last day of school tomorrow!!! even though I feel like I spend the entire school holidays tied to the kitchen bench (#kidsdontstopeating) I just love the lack of routine that comes with it. One more day and then it’s LEGO, art and bike riding central over here! Design + style @frankandsonder

25.01.2022 Simple Sunday’s spent capturing light filled nooks

20.01.2022 With the COVID restrictions starting ease slightly, we now have the opportunity to dust off the old entertaining collections and have another family over for dinner... it’s the small things after months of no contact that we are looking forward to! Styling + @frankandsonder

20.01.2022 What thought do you put into a hallway? Well.... this one had a huge amount of thought put into it! When I designed this home, my hallway had to serve these key purposes; must be able to walk down carrying 2 overloaded arms full of shopping bags (because if you can’t do it in one trip, who are you? ) must be wide enough and open into spaces big enough to double as a race track for every bike, scooter and skateboard we own (during wet season in North QLD it rains for 5 weeks straight so helps keep the kids from going too stir crazy) must be light and open enough to not feel like a rabbit warren when making your way from the entry to the living areas And of course, must be low maintenance and easy on the eye

18.01.2022 This morning I woke up (too early ) with a million thoughts in my head... a refresh of our home in Newcastle has just begun and I always find myself constantly walking through what the final product will look like (all in my head) and considering every tiny detail... I am not a gradual renovator, I am a ‘finish-an-entire-room-in-one-go-even-if-it-means-you-don’t-sleep-for-3-days’ kind of gal. For this reason I plan. I plan within an inch of my life. From the bigger stuff... like paint colours and window furnishings, then linens and artwork, right down to the colour of the book spines and those little touches that wind themselves into the spaces. How will I use this space? For me functionality is at the top of my list - my spaces need to incorporate everyday life without becoming overcrowded. At the end of the day I need my home to look and feel organised and beautiful, and our family thrives when we hit that balance. I love being able to envision every angle of how a finished room will look, and even more so that my husband supports my every decision, despite not really having a clue what I am planning . Kids rooms are starting very soon - so I’ll flash back to mid decorating one of the last ones I did for Charlee See more

18.01.2022 Blue on blue for this studio by the beach the perfect space to wash the day away

18.01.2022 Are you a straight lines kind of person? Or partial to a curve? I must admit I do find myself admiring the arches and curved walls that are really coming into their own at the moment, but deep down, it’s a perspective like this that will always have my heart. And those little sunbeams bouncing off that brick wall... I would perch a chair and look at this view all afternoon! Styling + @frankandsonder Architecture @savioparsons_architects

15.01.2022 These three... constantly knocking my socks off with their growing range, and are an absolute dream to work with every time! stay tuned for some more magic over the coming weeks

09.01.2022 BEFORE + AFTER | A quick shake up in this bedroom... sometimes you only need a few extra layers and a spare half an hour to make it shine

09.01.2022 Sunday | I love the feeling that a Sunday morning brings... we have early risers in this house (thanks kiddos ) so I can’t say we enjoy sleeping in, but there is something about a Sunday morning that brings a sense of calm to the household

08.01.2022 The moodiest of moody blues... I will never tire of looking at this bathroom + styling : @frankandsonder

08.01.2022 Temperature has really dropped here in Newcastle today... appropriately I am ordering some extra layers of linen in preparation for our first ‘real’ winter after living in North QLD . . + Styling | @frankandsonder

07.01.2022 Friday you sweet thing... you are here

06.01.2022 The weekend is almost here.... Here’s to time spent at home shuffling, slowing down and taking the time to appreciate your surroundings and the people you have around you. In a scene like this, it would be pretty easy to love being home! Styling + @frankandsonder Architecture Savio Parsons

05.01.2022 It is no secret that I am a massive ambassador of including plants when decorating your home... with the scale of this home I knew I needed something with stature. Check out this beauty from the incredible Liz @plant_life_newcastle Styling & : @frankandsonder Architecture: Savio Parsons

04.01.2022 See this artwork the large fabulous one that just screams fabulous and I never wanted to let it go?? Well, the artist behind it - @adele.naidoo.designs - it turns out she is just as beautiful as her pieces look. After many late nights messages back and forth (we are now totally friends ) I could not be happier to know that my first (of a few I suspect ) @adele.naidoo.designs ORIGINAL is making its way across the globe to my doorstep, for my home! it’s like Christmas and my birthday all in one flat postal box and I couldn’t be more excited! #stalkthepostie

03.01.2022 I want to take a minute to sing praises for @prudence.demarchi.art - this gorgeous human being is not only an absolute talent with colour and a paintbrush, she also answers all my late night emails as texts, bends over backwards to make my visual dreams come true, is part of a killer husband and wife team, and does all this while hanging in the laundry with a babe at her hip and another at her feet! This year I’ve made a point of collecting artworks that mean something special to me, and you are next on the list my friend! Xx Styling + @frankandsonder

02.01.2022 Bathrooms | One of the greatest investments you can make to your home and self. A well planned, aesthetically pleasing bathroom that has been designed around the way you live will never be a regret. This is a flashback to a bathroom from my previous home. When I designed this build, this bathroom was the second space I sketched out (I’ll share the first soon ), and my vision never changed throughout the remainder of the designing and building phase... walk in shower (which r...egularly housed 163 kids), a freestanding bath in the centre of the room (that ended like the result of a small pod of humpback whales having a party every evening), extra floor space to wrap up wriggling bodies and an oversized vanity with enough room for everyone to spread out at once, all finished in beautiful choices that were easy on the eye, low maintenance and super simple to look after. A perfect fit for our family! See more

01.01.2022 When designing from scratch, windows and natural light should always be your starting point. You can pick as many beautiful fixtures and fittings as you like, but nothing can add the wow factor that the changing light gives you throughout the course of the day. A view this green also helps Styling + Design | @frankandsonder

01.01.2022 Dreamy colour palette in this little girls setup I can confirm my bedroom growing up looked absolutely NOTHING like this space! Photography + Styling @frankandsonder

01.01.2022 Entry | And here she is... the room I designed this entire house around... actually the artwork I designed this house around. I saw this piece by the incredibly talented @lil via @tathra while I was busy sketching out floor plans on the floor of my bedroom, and it set the tone for all my choices moving forward. First and foremost, I love nothing more than to fill my house with the people in my life. Friends, family, kids... everyone is always welcome. I wanted to create a hom...e that felt comfortable and spacious, with functional and well thought out areas to allow me to live the way we like to live (hello to weekend long birthday parties with 65 kids and parents ). Although there were some restrictions while living in North QLD (this was not the door I intended ) and this meant I had to alter some design choices to suit availability and insane shipping expenses, I loved the ‘feel’ this house gave me every day I walked in. Isn’t it crazy how just one piece of artwork can make your house a home? See more
