16.01.2022 "I was tested for Coronavirus" A client opened his session with this statement. I asked him why were you tested?... He said "I was coughing and because I work in a supermarket" To trigger his curiosity I said, "You don't have it" [pause] " ... until proven otherwise" I asked "What do you reckon ... What is the chance of you having it?" He said "50/50". Fifty-fifty? That’s a pretty high chance! I suggested estimating the odds. We googled. We checked case numbers, hotspots, and ways of contracting the virus, and how to stay safe. It took us 10 minutes. He kept a distance and was mindful ab his hygiene. He realized that the actual probability was extremely low. He could see his fear was based on his belief 50/50, not on available facts. His fear was a direct result of the avalanche of the news most of us have been exposed to for the past few months. No doctor or nurse he encountered, asked him about his fear. No one helped him to gain a realistic perspective. No one reassured him that he was a healthy guy in his twenties. No one explained to him how to maintain a functioning immune system. He was just told to self-quarantine for 3 days. We know that Where the focus goes energy flows. Be mindful of what you expose yourself to.
