18.01.2022 So this update is a bit late but he made it!! Here is the vision from Sunday when Frank rolled up to the Sydney Opera House after 2132kms, 34 days on the road (inc 7 rest days), not sure how many mtrs of climbing OR how many beers (lots of both I’d say!). There will be a more detailed summary of the challenge soon! It was hard work, Frank is still in recovery mode but how amazing is my husband! Kate xx... Special thanks to Trevor and Lisa for guiding Frank through Sydney to the Opera House on the last day!! Oh and donations to the cause are still open! https://frankdownunder.everydayhero.com/au/frank-down-under

15.01.2022 May 9th 2014 is here again!!! Do you remember what you did on May 9th 2014? I remember what I did that day, tomorrow I do it again Hello good people... Time for a little update after yet another long day on the bike or was it in a time machine this Saturday?? It WAS on the bike, but it felt like a time machine 2014 and here is why. Let’s go back to May 9th 2014. My big bike tour of NZ and Australia is coming to an end. The next day I am planning to ride my bike up in front of the opera house to mark the end of the tour. But how can I ride my bike into Sydney CBD without getting killed? That is one of three things that I need to get sorted in Stanwell Park. The two others being finding a place to stay for the night and getting my laundry done. A look at the map tells me that Stanwell Park is a decent sized town and should be able to help me. A look round Stanwell Park tells me that the map is lying. Here is no tourist information to help me with a bike route. No laundry to make my clothes smell better and no cheap accommodation, so in other words 0 of 3! They do have some accommodation though, B&B’s and they are too expensive for my budget, but I do need a place to stay. Ask a man to find an address for the least expensive B&B. He does so and two minutes later I walk up the walkway. Seconds before my fist hits the door to the B&B, I hear a big hooooonk! Behind the wheel is a guy who asks me whether I am looking for a place to stay? I can’t deny that and we start talking. Minutes later he asks: why don’t you just stay with me and my wife up the road? Sure Trevor introduces me for his wife, Lisa, who asks if I would like to have some laundry done? Sure I ask Trevor whether he can help with a good route into Sydney? Sure All right three for three. February 2019: After saying goodbye to Trevor in 2014 we exchanged mail addresses, but haven’t been in contact since. Never mind that, I write and ask if he still lives in Stanwell Park? (lots can happen in five years). And can I stay with him if he does sure Now I am here and I have had a wonderful evening with Trevor, Lisa and their children. My laundry is done, but I haven’t got a safe route into Sydney. Nevermind that. I have my personal guide. Trevor joins me for the last stage Stanwell - Sydney Opera House. ETA Sunday afternoon Have a wonderful Sunday, thanks for your support Cheers, Frank https://frankdownunder.everydayhero.com/au/frank-down-under

09.01.2022 Last chance! We are spending the day with the Rehn Bier team (at the Barossa Vintage Parade) and will draw their very generous offer of a carton of and t-shirt this week! If you haven’t already donated and / or LIKED the Rehn Bier yet, now is your last chance To our international supporters, if you are drawn we’ll sort something else as we can’t ship internationally Thanks so much to everyone who has supported Frank in all the different ways in his challenge!...
