23.01.2022 Anzac is not the same this year but we still remember them we still pay our respect. Frankford chief Neville Hall laying the wreath last year. Still holding the same respect this year just showing it in our own way. Lest We Forget

23.01.2022 TFS has declared a total fire ban on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for the eastern half of the state. A total fire ban means it is illegal to light or to cause a... fire in the open. This includes (but is not limited to) incinerators, burn-offs, campfires, fire pots, and wood-fuelled barbecues. The total fire ban applies to municipalities in the north and south: Break O'Day, George Town, Northern Midlands, Dorset, Launceston, West Tamar, Flinders, Meander Valley, Brighton, Derwent Valley, Hobart, Sorell, Central Highlands, Glamorgan Spring Bay, Huon Valley, Southern Midlands, Clarence, Glenorchy, Kingborough, and Tasman. More information on Total Fire Bans and incidents in your area can be found at www.fire.tas.gov.au or by listening to ABC Radio.

21.01.2022 Last night we spent the evening with the Westbury, Four Springs and Frankford/Birralee Volunteer Fire Brigades at a grass fire, that also advanced into 140 round bales of hay. Thankfully the fire was stopped just before it reached a house, and also another stack of hay bales!

21.01.2022 We are fortunate this man got away with no injures. Thankyou Glengarry volunteer Fire Brigade and Tasmania Police for your assistance and support

20.01.2022 Another heartbreaking tragedy. Sadly another volunteer firefighter has passed away, in the line of duty. Our deepest condolences to the family, friends and personals involved. RIP hero

17.01.2022 A total fire ban has been declared for Saturday 4 January for municipalities in the north and south. During a total fire ban it is illegal to light or cause a f...ire to start in the open. Please report any bushfire or smoke sightings very quickly to TFS by calling Triple Zero. Because it's a total fire ban, any smoke sighting should be treated as a bushfire and responded to quickly. The total fire ban is in force in the following municipalities between 2am on Saturday 4 January until 2am Sunday 5 January: Brighton, Central Highlands, Clarence, Derwent Valley, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Glenorchy, Hobart, Huon Valley, Kingborough, Sorell, Southern Midlands, Tasman, Break'O'Day, Dorset, George Town, Launceston, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands, West Tamar, and Flinders. Listen to ABC Local Radio for the warnings and advice in a bushfire.

13.01.2022 Frankford’s newest, level one firefighters.

12.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day Dads!!

10.01.2022 Over 5,000 lightning strikes were recorded over Tasmania in the 24 hours to 6am this morning which certainly put on a light show. Of those, 406 were detected hi...tting the ground. Lightning strikes that hit the ground can cause fires that pop up much later than the strike itself. Aircraft will be flying over the affected areas to ensure any fires that do start are identified and responded to quickly. So far this morning, flights have detected one fire at Swan River between Swansea and Bicheno and this is being dealt with by local crews. If you are aware of lightning strikes in the local area and you see smoke or fire, please report to TFS immediately on Triple Zero.

06.01.2022 A very special day yesterday when two of our very own flew out of the state to help those in need with the bushfires in NSW. What makes it even more special is that it’s a brother and sister duo who is achieving this. A massive well done to Charrae and Koby Myers is putting your heads out for this brigade along with 39 other Tasmanian Firefighters to help protect this great nation! We know you’ll do yourselves and this brigade proud!
