25.01.2022 Humans have broken the internet... again. This time, it's not a debate over the colour of a dress, or the hearing of either Yanny or Laurel... no. This time, it's an argument over... well, time. Or at least, the perception of it.... Read this article, and answer this question: Do you believe the meeting will start at 10am or 2pm? https://www.indy100.com//meeting-change-time-question-9578

22.01.2022 To the people sending email campaigns or posting to social media, starting with the line: "Sorry, it's been a while..." I have some bad news.... This is not a great marketing strategy. Let me walk you through why: Firstly, most of your audience won't even notice your absence. Yes, even if it has been months! So by starting with "sorry" you're setting the wrong tone for the message. Instead of focusing on the content of your message, people will be drawn to that initial "sorry". If you're lucky, they may stick around to wonder what the sorry was all about. If you're not, they'll click away without even reading. Secondly, drawing attention to your absence in this way can damage your credibility. People may start to view you as that person/business that drops off for long periods without notice. While your audience may miss the absence at first, if you draw attention to it they will be more likely to notice if it happens again. If it happens again and again, this can damage the trust you build up with your audience. So acknowledging the absence is bad. What can you do instead? Here's a few ideas: 1. Pre-empt your absences. If you know you're taking time off - due to illness, holiday or just a need for space - let your audience know! You don't have to go into great detail, but a simple newsletter or social media update can go a long way to manage expectations. 2. Don't be absent! You can maintain an online presence through scheduling content in advance. Social media, email marketing and even blogs can be scheduled ahead of time! This can give the appearance of "being available" even when you are on holiday or down and out with the flu! 3. If you are absent, don't start with "sorry"! Begin with confidence, and don't draw attention to it. Go on with your message as if nothing as changed. Because remember: most people won't have noticed anyway!! 15.01.2022 I will never not love this! Can you read or write cursive? (I can!) This is also a good time to consider the fonts you use in your marketing. They may look pretty - but can your audience read it easily?... See more

14.01.2022 I mean... would it really surprise me at this point? No. Am I a little disappointed it wasn't actually giant eagles? ...yes.

11.01.2022 Social Media Myth #1: You need to join every social media platform that currently exists. BZZT! Wrong!... Doing this usually ends in one way: burnout. You spend so much time trying to do everything and be everywhere, that you don't have time left to run your business! Instead, identify some of the following: Which platforms do your ideal customers use? Which platforms do you like using? Which platforms are easy to use from multiple devices? What types of content are appropriate for your business and audience? What is your main social media goal: engagement, lead generation or sales conversions? Once you can answer these questions, you can begin to narrow down the ideal platforms for your business. Here's my big hint: The biggest factor when choosing a platform will always be your audience. You want to position yourself so that you're talking to all the right people. People who will like your content. People who will buy your products or choose your services. People who need your knowledge. If you show up on a platform that doesn't need or want what you're offering, you'll struggle to drum up enthusiasm or make many sales. Social Media Myth Busted! For more like this, join me in Creative Biz Marketing where we'll talk more about your ideal audience and how to find them.
