16.01.2022 It is the Eve of Valentine’s Day otherwise known as Galentine’s day when many ladies ditch their partners for a day or night out with their gal pals. Are you celebrating it? Or are you celebrating Valentine’s tomorrow? Personally I’m not that into this holiday as I say every year, love should be celebrated at all times and not just on a specific day when flowers are way overpriced. Also no matter how you feel about it Valentine’s Day isn’t just for giving to those you feel ...romantically about. If you haven’t done it recently, it’s a good opportunity to tell someone like a family member or friend how much they mean to you or that you’re thinking of them. It’ll be especially hard for those going through yet another lockdown (hey Melbourne friends, thinking of you!) who might not be able to celebrate it even if they wanted to. 12.01.2022 Ash Wednesday // the start of the Lenten period. I remember going to church as a child for Ash Wednesday service and having ashes put on my forehead with the priest saying, ‘Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.’ I don’t think I completely understood the significance of the day back then apart from the fact that it was a time we fasted or gave up something for the 40 days that led up to Easter... and that meant chocolate As I got older I realised that it... is a time for repentance, reflection and mourning for our sins #frankiesgirldesigns #ashwednesday
