17.01.2022 Shamanic drumming is becoming very popular as more and more people are becoming aware of its healing and spiritual benefits. However to shamans, drums are not seen as just inanimate musical instruments. But rather, sentient magical implements that have a spirit of their own, and actively work with and help the shaman. The intention of this one day workshop is to call in and awaken the spirit of your drum and connect you to it's spirit. So that it can work with you directly as a powerful spiritual ally. This workshop will also take place online on Sunday 14th February via Zoom.

Very similar to other ancient European trumpets such as have been found in Ireland, the British isles and continental Europe. It can produce a vast range of sounds from high pitched toots to low didgeridoo-like rumblings. 12.01.2022 Get lost Michael Flatley! Odin is the true Lord of the Dance!!! Many images similar to this have been found in many places across England, Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia, depicting Odin wearing a horned helmet stylized as possibly ravens or eagles, and dancing with spears. This is again showing Odin in his role as shaman. Here using the power of dance to go into trance, as is commonly found amongst shamans and healers around the world too. Such as the Americas, Africa, and famously the whirling dervishes of Sufism.

11.01.2022 In our workshops and courses we often emphasise that we don't get caught up in terminology, or trying too hard to categorise spiritual beings. (i.e, the differences between gods, nature spirits, angels, spirit guides etc.) This is partly because as we also often discuss, the deities/spirits will often use different names and faces with different people, to relate and communicate in a way that best suits that person. But this is not some new or unique concept that we have inve...nted. It is how the deities and spiritual being were viewed in ancient times (often even within the same pantheon). When the ancient Greeks and Romans encountered foreign peoples and religions , they tried to understand them by comparing them to their own gods. This method was known as "Interpretatio Graeca" or "Interpretatio Romana". The Romans travelled north and encountered the Germanic tribes where they interpreted the god Odin as their own god Mercury(Hermes). Hermes was associated with other gods too. When the Greeks settled and later ruled Egypt, Hermes was thought of as being the same as Anubis and Thoth. These comparison became so popular they merged these gods together and worshipped them as new singular beings. Hermes and Anubis were combined and became "Hermanubis". Hermes and Thoth became "Hermes Trismegistus", the legendary founder of Hermeticism. So while on the surface Odin, Hermes, Thoth and Anubis seem very distinct and separate.
