24.01.2022 COVID-19 LOCKDOWN As you would understand as Victoria has been placed in lockdown until Thursday February 18, there will be no in person Gathered Celebration this Sunday February 14 and the church onsite activities will be in recess until the lockdown is lifted. Due to the unexpected nature and the late notice of this decision we have not had the time or the resources available to produce something fresh for this Sunday's gathered celebration.... There will however be church online https://frankstoncofc.online.church/ at 10am, which is a repeat of excerpts from last Sunday’s worship service. Please be sure to logon on and join in the live chat. Additionally our Prayer Ministry Coordinator has prepared a Call to Prayer with some prayer focus points to help you focus your hearts and minds on God. CALL TO PRAYER: Due to the suddenness of our snap lockdown and the restrictions again placed on us as a church community, it is time for a CALL to PRAYER. Besides LOVING God and others PRAYER is what we do best. So as part of non-meeting together event for this Sunday let’s PRAY. According to scripture we are to pray for our political leaders - regardless of their policies or our political persuasion. Pray that these recent COVID-19 cases can be contained. Pray for wisdom and boldness as we face greater restrictions in sharing our faith and prayer. Pray for our diminished eldership team as we take on new responsibilities of implementing God’s fresh vision of renewal for our church & community. Pray for all persecuted Christians around the world particularly in North Korea, Vietnam and China. Pray for the frontline medical teams working tirelessly during this pandemic. Pray for the reopening of the Opshop, new teams, new venue, new opportunities. Praise God for the successful relaunch of mainly music this past week. Pray for the Kid’s Hope team as they reconnect with students at Frankston East PS in the coming weeks. When you are unsure of what to / how to pray use your Bible and pray into the scriptures ask the Holy Spirit to guide & guard your thoughts. We pray that we will be back together in person next Sunday the 21st at 10am.

23.01.2022 This Sunday we will introduce our new theme for 2020 - THRIVE. We look forward to seeing and sharing with you at 10am. 130 Cranbourne Road Frankston.

21.01.2022 For those who were with us on Sunday here is the quote we shared to remind us how we can still touch each others lives in these days of "Social Distancing". Let's all try and reach out to others in our world in these ways in the coming days, weeks, and months.

21.01.2022 New Ministry Space - Coming Soon As part of our desire for God to move us into something new and different we would like to introduce an exciting new Ministry space - SANCTUARY. This New Ministry will operate from our current Chapel turning it into a space of SANCTUARY where relationships can be developed and deepened.... This space to be one that is inviting and draws people in as they walk through our doors either as members of our church, to attend our community contact ministries, to hire our facilities, or even just for those walking or driving by. It will be set up with some indoor plants to create an ambiance of serenity. Have some chairs and tables set up café style for those that want to chat or even work in this space, and have some comfortable seating set up lounge style for those who want to just to sit and relax, read, or just reflect. The purpose of SANCTUARY is to provide a place of belonging which invites people to: Relax - in a safe space. Reflect - in a peaceful space. Relate - in a community space. Restore - in a renewing space. The prime intent is to make this SANCTUARY space available for God to go to work in us and through us, and to see what New Life He leads us into as we connect with each other and our community. The intention is to have this space available any time our facilities are open. This space will also be used as a community space after our gathered celebrations and also made available for special events such as weddings and funerals. We look forward to you joining us in SANCTUARY once it commences and inviting others to join you.

16.01.2022 Three Billion people in the world lack access to hand-washing facilities. Imagine trying to beat COVID-19 when you haven’t even got access to the first line of ...defence - sanitation. It’s time we offered a helping hand to our neighbours, because as Australians we take care of our neighbours. It’s just what we do. Visit www.endcovidforall.com and pledge to stand in solidarity with all our neighbours, and encourage our government to provide vital support to vulnerable nations. It’s the only way we can end COVID for all. Because it’s not over until it’s over for everyone. #EndCovidForAll

12.01.2022 This week we started a new series looking at how we each can experience Victorious Living. We do this by choosing to grow in our knowledge of God, live in a confident hope, walk in resurrection power, and claim Christs authority over our life and its circumstances. So dont accept defeat in any aspect of your life, choose to win, because Jesus paid too high a price for you to accept anything other than overwhelming VICTORY.

10.01.2022 To those who are planning on attending our services at 10am tomorrow or any other events or activities at the Frankston Church of Christ, please be aware that due to the ever evolving situation with the Coronavirus (Covid 19) Pandemic, we will be implementing some new measures to safeguard you, your families, and our church family as a whole. These measures are that we request: 1. That anyone who is feeling unwell (even with only mild cold-like symptoms), or has recently tr...avelled anywhere overseas, or has been in contact with someone who has been infected with Covid 19, stay away from church services or any other church related events for a period of at least 14 days. For those who choose to stay away we are endeavouring to provide ways that you can still engage in our worship experience. In the mean time as always the Bible message will be available on our Church website: https://www.frankstoncofc.com.au/sermons.html 2. That everyone who attends our church facilities rigorously adopt all the current recommended personal hygiene practices. This includes regular washing of hands, sneezing into a tissue or their elbow, and keeping a safe distance between you and others. Soap dispensers are available in the toilets and alcohol-based hand sanitisers and tissues will be placed in common use areas such as the foyers. 3. For the time being we will no longer encourage personal touch, which includes greetings such as shaking of hands, hugs, or kissing, as well as the laying on of hands while praying for others. Also for your safety new cleaning practices will be put implemented including disinfecting all surfaces, door handles, light switches, and other commonly touched areas at least once every day. It is most likely that these measures will need to be extended and strengthened in the future due to this rapidly evolving situation. Our ongoing response however will be guided by Government, Health Officials, and CCVT. But for now, please be aware that all church services, activities and events will continue as planned, but with the measures outlined above in place. Please continue to pray into this situation, for our leaders, medical practitioners, and for each other in these difficult and uncertain times. We look forward to seeing you at Church. Blessings Marty & Cheryl Lees Pastors

10.01.2022 25 DAYS TO GO...

10.01.2022 Foster lives in a small village called Mthwakazi, in rural Zimbabwe. Only a few years ago, Foster was a subsistence farmer. Every day, his wife would have to wa...lk 6 kilometres to the river to gather water. The walk was tiring and dangerous. Foster stayed at home and toiled in the fields to make sure they had enough food. He had been a baker for 40 years, but he had to retire many years back. Without access to safe water, there was no way he could continue his business. But then, Showers of Blessings Trust came to Mthwakazi... Now with enough clean water to bake again, Foster fires up his brick oven in the morning, he and starts to bake. The demand for his baking is high, and he makes around 20 loaves of bread, and over 100 sweet buns and scones every day. Water has a huge effect on communities beyond just drinking water. With safe water we see communities benefit in so many ways whether that's through gardens, schools or in this case local business. This is the effect you help make possible through Safe Water September.

09.01.2022 COVID19 Update - Sunday Gathered Celebrations With a gradual lifting of COVID19 restrictions by the State Government, the Church Elders met this week to begin to discuss a plan to reinstate our Sunday in person gatherings. It is this premise of returning to be able to gather face to face and share in worship, communion, and fellowship, without compromising to too great an extent what we do and how we do it, and ensuring that we can gather as one body, that was the prime fo...cus of its discussion. Whilst the State Government from July 13 are proposing lifting restrictions to enable religious gatherings to have a maximum of 50 people in one single space, this capacity is well below our normal Sunday attendance, and is still limited by the 1 person per 4 square metre rule. Even if the allowed capacity increases beyond 50, whilst the 1 person per 4 square metre rule remains in place, this would not allow an increase for us due to the size of our largest community space, and therefore would not enable us to meet together as one body. The other restrictions that remain in place also compromise our sharing in the elements of communion and do not enable us to share together in fellowship afterwards over morning tea. For this reason the Elders have decided to not proceed with re-gathering at this stage, particularly whilst the 1 person per 4 square metre rule remains in place as we do not want to compromise the way we gather, exclude anyone from our gatherings, or place anyones health and welfare at risk. To offer some greater certainty however it has been decided that Sunday September 6th will be targeted as a return date to us gathering "in person" again. If the restriction requiring 1 person per 4 square metres is lifted prior to this date and an increased capacity is allowed planning can commence for a more immediate return. However, if we get to our targeted return date and these restrictions are still in place, the Board will look at alternative arrangements for gathering. Up until this point in time we will continue to gather online as we are currently.

02.01.2022 Frankston Church of Christ COVID19 Response Update We write to update you on the Frankston Church of Christs response to the Coronavirus (Covid19) Pandemic. Last week we posted details of measures we had put in place to safeguard you, your families and our church family as a whole as we continued to meet together in our Gathered Celebrations on Sunday and our other activities.... Today the Prime Minister of Australia Mr Scott Morrison announced that further restriction would be placed on indoor gatherings of 100 people and less which impacts directly on us. What this announcement means is that it is with great regret that the Board of Elders must advise that our Sunday Celebrations Services and all associated Sunday activities will need to cease immediately in their current form. Unfortunately, due to the timing of this advice we have not had the time to put in place measures for this week to allow us to still gather together, but in a different way using technology and online means. It is our intention to be able to get some resources together to begin a new journey of gathering in this new way for next Sunday, and we will update you on this as soon as possible. It is our aim to continue to journey with you in fostering a sense of community, of care, and of contribution as we all navigate our way through these challenging times as individuals and as a Church. We recommend that you stay up to date with what is happening via our website www.frankstoncofc.com.au and here on our Facebook page. Finally, please continue to pray into this situation, for our leaders, medical practitioners, and for each other in these difficult times. If you have concerns please reach out. Blessings to you all Marty & Cheryl Lees Pastors
