17.01.2022 Club Update: Return to Small Outdoor Group Training As many of you are probably aware, the wheels have been in motion over the past few weeks regarding a potential return to training for our football and netball players and the Club has been working closely with SFNL and Frankston City Council to implement the Return to Small Outdoor Group Training Protocols. There have been several guidelines and communications from our governing bodies, including AFL Vic, SFNL & Frankston C...ity Council all of which we have been working on to ensure we comply with and are able to provide a safe and healthy training environment for our players and support team. Please see a brief summary of the key requirements for returning to training and the impact upon not only the player group, but our families, members, supporters, etc (for full details please see link below). Small outdoor groups of 20 people (not including coaches) No mixing between groups Get in, train, get out Arrive dressed & ready to train. Leave immediately after training BYO water bottles, towels, etc. no sharing Hand sanitizer to be used before & after training (provided by the club) Attendance register upon arrival and leaving training No access to changerooms these will be locked at all times No strapping or massages. Players to tape before coming to training if required. No contact training (no bumping, tackling, marking contests, etc.) 1.5m social distancing at all times (no high fives, etc.) Strictly no attendance at training if you are sick (or someone who you are in close contact to is sick) No obligation to train if not satisfied with the protocols in place No spectators permitted at training Strongly recommended that everyone downloads the Covid Safe app. Both the football and netball playing group have been educated on these items (and more relevant specifics) via a Zoom presentation last Sunday. Coaches will advise them of groupings, training times, etc. in the next few days. The above measures will be implemented and monitored by the coaches, trainers and committee to ensure we are compliant at all times. We ask everyone to please be patient and positive regarding these protocols as much as it is not back to normal, it will still be great to see everyone back training! https://aflvic.com.au/return-to-play-roadmap-protocols/ #finsup

17.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that Rob Kupsch has been reappointed as Assistant Womens football coach of the Frankston Dolphins Football Netball Club for season 2021. Rob has a long involvement in football both as a player (Mordialloc VFA, Melbourne FC, Edi-Asp & Salesian Old Collegians in VAFA) and as a coach across all levels of football, including as Skills and Assistant Womens Coach at Hastings Football Club prior to joining us at the Dolphins last year. Both Rob and our senior Womens coach "Boomer" Birmingham have a real passion for coaching womens football and improving players skills and we look forward to our Girls taking to the field under Rob & Boomers guidance in 2021. #ALLIN2021

16.01.2022 A message from our Women's coach "Boomer" Our Team YES, we have a team. That’s the main question I’ve been asked and that’s the answer - Yes. We’ve been working hard, recruiting players and getting our name out there. Our numbers are excellent and we will be there in 2021. Welcome... A huge welcome to all the FDJFC Youth Girls from last year who have committed to the Dolphins Senior Women’s Team for 2021. It’s great to have you. Your experience, skill and knowledge of the game are a huge bonus to have at the senior club. I watched you train a few times and your coaches have done an awesome job. Remember to thank them when you win your first AFLW B&F! Training We are all hanging out to do some physical stuff. This little fat boy needs to run! Unfortunately, the last round of de-restrictions didn’t help adult sport much. So we wait We will be up at the ground as soon as we can, but it’s more complex than you think. We need permission from council, the league and the government to restart and we have to work with the cricket club, who have priority use of the ovals. The committee are working on getting us back ASAP so stay tuned for details. However. If we can’t train at the oval, we will still train in other ways as soon as we can meet in a large group. Or two medium ones. What we will do is catch up for a few outings, along with regular training at other venues. We are planning a hike at Point Nepean Reserve, from the car park to the fort and back. That’s if it’s open to the public. If not, we find somewhere else. Its about 8 to 10 K’s and we will be having a bit of fun as we go. Anyone who is interested in playing or helping out during the year is welcome. If you don’t drive, we will get you there. Dates to come. Committed Players We want you! I spoke to most of you on our list and got the names of those 100% committed to play next year. We want to take your photo and put you on the club website as being committed to play next year, like the pics on this page https://www.facebook.com/FrankstonDolphinsFC It helps us establish a presence as a women’s team that is up and about. We’d like every player to be involved, so let us know if you’re interested by messaging Paul on the above link. Otherwise we just rock up on your doorstep with a camera! Volunteers We always need people to help out, in fact we can’t play without you. We welcome family, friends, retired and injured players, girlfriends, boyfriends and strangers you grab off the street. Maybe not the strangers. Anyways, if you want to help out, let us know. It’s a great way to be involved in a great club. We hope to get everyone together soon for a meet and greet. If you need anything, need some info or just want a chat, let us know. Rob and I and the Committee are here for you. Boomer, Rob and everyone at the Frankston Dolphins. #ALLIN2021

12.01.2022 Be an #ALLIN Dolphin in 2021 They say a week is a long time in football throw in Covid-19 and that makes a season a very long time in footy or netball. Having put in a great deal of work to ready ourselves for a big 2020, we can now only look ahead to 2021. We’re sure that everyone has missed participating in football and netball this year and hopefully you are as excited about the prospect of returning to sport in 2021 as we are. The break from competition, although disap...pointing, has provided us with the opportunity to undertake a review of where we are at as a club and set a course that will ensure we continue to grow and succeed into the future, guided by our updated strategic plan. How successful we are as a club, team, or at an individual level is up to each of us, so we are asking that everyone from the committee, our players, volunteers, supporters through to our sponsors, commit to being ‘ALL IN’ for season 2021. 10.01.2022 On this day, 6 July, in 1947. In June 1947 the South Melbourne Football Club put a call out for female footballers to play in a match to raise funds for a ravaged, post-war Britain. 06.01.2022 FINALS FLASHBACK Today would have seen finals getting underway in the SFNL, so in the absence of live local footy, lets take a look back at some of previous fi...nals games thanks to our Premier partner Quadracon Building Pty Ltd 2018 saw all three teams make finals in our first year as a senior club, exceeding all expectations. WOMEN - 2ND PRELIMINARY FINAL Our finals campaign kicked off in true finals weather on Saturday with our womens team taking on Clayton in the Second Preliminary Final. Thanks to the vagaries of the competition (a final six in a nine team competition) our first final was also a sudden death knock out, despite having finished second on the ladder. After a slow start, our girls got back in the game and went into half time 4 points down. Injuries to key players saw us short on the bench in the second half and unfortunately our girls were overrun by a slick Clayton outfit, eventually going down by 58 points. Whilst disappointing to get knocked out in our first final, our girls showed great spirit across four quarters of football and should be very proud of themselves having achieved an incredible amount of improvement in our first season in the SFNL. Frankston Dolphins 0.0 / 3.0 / 3.0 / 3.1-19 Clayton 2.4 / 3.4 / 6.9 / 11.11-77 RESERVES - 1ST SEMI FINAL Sunday saw our men head to Keysborough for with our Reserves taking on Sandown in the First Semi Final. Our Reserves got off to a flyer, stamping their authority on this game early and scoring 5 goals in the first quarter. The second quarter was more of the same and but for inaccuracy in front of goals, could have been in a much stronger position at the main break than the 21 points reflected on the scoreboard. The Cobras threw everything at us in the third, but couldnt convert and we headed into the final quarter with a three goal lead and still a bit of work ahead of us. The last quarter saw us control the majority of play in a hard fought quarter of football and we were ultimately rewarded with a 23 point win over a strong Sandown team that boasted a number of senior players. Frankston Dolphins 5.2 / 8.6 / 11.9 / 13.14-92 Sandown 3.1 / 5.3 / 8.9 / 10.9-69 SENIORS - 1ST SEMI FINAL Our Seniors then took to the park for what promised to be a tough encounter against Cerberus and thats exactly what we got - a fast and physical game. The first quarter saw us wasteful in front of goals whilst our defence held strong, limiting the Navy boys scoring power and we went into the first break only holding a 10 point lead, despite a good quarter of footy. Cerberus struck back in the second and we went to the sheds 7 points down. The third quarter was a tight contest with accuracy around goals proving the difference as Cerberus extended their lead to 11 points. Our boys continued put up a good fight in the last, but Cerberus ultimately proved too good on the day running out winners by 28 points. Our men should be extremely proud of their first season together on a number of fronts - to come to a start-up club and form a team with a group of guys you dont know, learn how each other plays (as youre playing games) and make it through to finals is an incredible achievement. Add to that, the way in which you have come together off the field as a group (which is evident in the way you look out for one another on the field) and weve accomplished something pretty special in under twelve months. Frankston Dolphins 2.5 / 4.5 / 5.9 / 6.11-47 Cerberus 1.1 / 5.6 / 7.8 / 11.9-75 #ALLIN

02.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that Brendan "Boomer" Birmingham has been reappointed as Womens football coach of the Frankston Dolphins Football Netball Club for season 2021. Boomer has a long association with Girls & Womens football at all levels, having founded and coached Girls Auskick at Langwarrin FC in what was the only Girls Auskick group in the state at that time, through to being the Head Coach of Cranbourne Football Clubs Womens teams, making finals each year under... his guidance. Boomers vast experience with womens football over 10 years along with his philosophy to enable players to learn, train and enjoy their football, fits well with our vision of developing players and building a pathway for our juniors and has resulted in a number of Boomers former players going on to either coach or play at VFLW and AFLW level. The Football Department and Committee are looking forward to seeing our Womens team take to the field again under Boomers guidance in 2021. #ALLIN2021
