18.01.2022 Our U16 girls team had their first game last night! With only 8 players, the girls lost to Yarra Valley 3-11. Congratulations to Abbey Black for three goals and Thrive Award winners Sarah Ainge and Laura Bracken, both for trying new things and playing out of their comfort zones.
17.01.2022 12 months ago we wound up what could only be described as a great season for our womens section. The Metro team had great year with plenty of new faces taking the field, the PWHA players also did the same and bought the sting to Monday night hockey. It was all capped off with the firsts finishing prominently on top of the ladder and winning the 2019 premiership. A result that reflected the effort, determination and amazing people involved in the rebuild of the group; both on ...and off the field. We all have eyes set on hockey for season 2021 and we're excited to see what will be the next chapter for our womens teams. If you'd like to join a caring, fun and growing club; drop us a message here. We have teams for all ages and abilities! Go Stingers
15.01.2022 Our Metro B men had a great win yesterday, settling in at an impressive 6-1.
14.01.2022 COVID-19 MEMBER UPDATE #15 Dear Stingrays Community, First of all, thank you for staying engaged and upbeat during the COVID-19 challenges we find ourselves facing.... I would like to thank all the FHC Committee members, coaches, and volunteers, who have put in many hours of work to get the club back at the training sessions these past 6 weeks. To all of you we gave it our best shot, but the current circumstances mean that Hockey Victoria has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Winter Season. Across the Victorian Hockey community there has been wonderful support and interest in playing Hockey, with 757 teams registering to re-enter the competition. The FHC plays an important part of this community, and this has been demonstrated by the strong attendance of players at the 6 week restart training block. Not only have we had strong numbers at training we have also welcomed new players to the club. We are strong and will get through this. As you would be aware the FHC refunded the fees that were paid before the first shutdown. The committee believes the best course of action is to again refund all restart 2020 season fees paid, with the structure and needs of the different playing groups, making it is too difficult to set an equitable fee to cover the training costs for the pre and restart training blocks. These costs cover items such as 12 weeks of pitch hire and the necessary equipment the club provides to all teams. The result will be the FHC carrying a financial loss for the 2020 season. To help offset the losses the FHC is providing the opportunity for members to make a voluntary contribution of $50, $100, $150 or $200, to partly offset the 2020 costs that have been incurred. Please click the link below if you are in a position to contribute. https://www.frankstonhockeyclub.com//training-and-equ/121 This will help set the club up for the 2021 season while keeping our fees at a competitive level and ensure investment in coaching and player development is ongoing. Thank you for your understanding and please call me if you have any concerns. Take care Frank President
13.01.2022 A handful of the senior men's squad have been sporting a Mo in support of Movember. So far, they have raised over $1000 and appreciate everyone who has contributed. Movember is all about supporting men's health by creating conversation and financially supporting projects to tackle the issues at hand. ... You can support by donating to the Stingers team here; https://au.movember.com/team/2378862 If you don't have the spare change, you can help by sharing this post

05.01.2022 COVID-19 MEMBER UPDATE #16 Hi Stingrays community, I hope you are all going OK.... Given the current COVID 19 lockdown and unknown path, HV have indicated that they will not be able to organise any summer hockey for 2020 and are now turning their focus to the challenges of 2021. While this is disappointing, it is the only course of action available. The FHC committee is also turning its mind to finalising this year, and the current focus is on preparations for the 2020 AGM. First, a big thank you to the FHC community for the wonderful result of the Voluntary Contribution initiative. Some $10,500 has been raised and shows a deep care and love of the club. The funds raised add to the stable financial position of the FHC, allowing the planning of a path to 2021 in a position of strength. There are several challenges presented given the fee refunds and the committee have passed the following process to cover a financial member definition to cover voting rights at the AGM. For the purposes of the 2020 season a member of the FHC is considered a financial member, and therefore can exercise a vote at the 2020 AGM, if they have: made a voluntary contribution, by August 31st, 2020, via the COVID -19 Voluntary Contribution Process outlined in member Update #15. commenced payment of their fees, part or in full, and received a refund. The option of making a voluntary contribution will remain live until COB August 31st 2020 via this link https://www.frankstonhockeyclub.com//training-and-equ/121 The AGM will be held via the ZOOM platform on October 13th. The formal notification process outlining the Agenda and a link to the ZOOM platform will be sent out by Di Black in the coming days. Take care Frank Hamilton President Frankston Hockey Club

03.01.2022 Training Suspended: After receiving advice from Hockey Victoria the Frankston Hockey Club will be ceasing all training activities effective immediately. We are very sorry to everyone who has been putting in a great effort over the last five weeks to get the club back online and to those who have just joined us. As Melbourne is under lock down for the next six weeks, we will wait for further advice from HV in regards to what competition and training might look like at the end... of lock down. 01.01.2022 It broke our hearts and many more to hear the sad news that we had lost a bright young goalie, friend, brother and son. Students and volunteers at Dylan's school have decided to take this tragedy and create an awareness program in the effort to improve the safety and awareness in the community in Dylans memory. Check out their amazing work ... Well done to everyone involved, you're doing Frankston and Dylan proud. https://www.facebook.com/240358532805794/posts/1314540448720925/
