24.01.2022 From 11.59pm on Sunday, the 17th of January, rules around mask-wearing will return to their status before Christmas. Mandatory situations in which to wear a ma...sk include domestic flights and airports, hospitals, public transport, commercial and passenger vehicles, supermarkets, larg indoor retail locations and other situations where physical distancing is not possible. RETURN TO WORK: Victoria’s staged return to office work will resume next week. From Monday 18th of January, the Victorian Public Service will be able to return to on-site work at 25% capacity and all other office workplaces will be able to increase to 50% capacity.
23.01.2022 At 11:59pm on Wednesday, 22 July it will be mandatory to wear a face mask / face covering when leaving your home for one of the four permitted reasons. This ...decision has been made based on expert medical advice from the CHO and in response to the concern of continuing increase in cases. There will be some reasons for not wearing a face mask: If there is a medical reason for not doing so Kids under 12 If there is a professional reason for not doing so Or in situations where its just not practical to do so - like when running Children under two should NEVER wear a face mask If you are driving alone or with members of household in car for one of four permitted reasons then you dont have to but if with others outside household in car for whatever reason (legal) would be. The above means that teachers who are on-site dont have to wear them (but they can choose to) but students attending will. While everyone will be expected to wear one to and from school. Aside from the above, the expectation and the law will be that when you leave home for the allowed four reasons you must cover your face. If you cant get a mask for any reason, a scarfe or some form of face covering is better than no covering at all. The Government are currently sourcing millions of extra masks and there will be more on this in the coming days about how exactly these are distributed. On Workplaces We have seen recently a spike in cases across a number of work places where people are working closely together. The Government will work with industry to provide advice over the coming days on this as well. On that as well we will be conducting an inspection and enforcement blitz at workplaces across the state. That will be done by WorkSafe, Emergency Management Victoria and Victoria Police. The fine for not wearing a face covering will be $200 and will be enforced by Victoria Police. Once again, there job is hard enough - so please put a face mask or covering on for them, for your friends, your family and for every Victorian. We are in this together and together we can do something as simple as wearing a face covering to help keep people safe. REMINDER OF 4 REASONS: Shopping for food & essential supplies Medical, care or compassionate needs Exercise and related activities (not allowed to travel to Regional Vic and stay local Work and education (if you cant work/learn remotely)

15.01.2022 Please see this statement from Dan Andrews. From 11:59pm on Sunday, the number of visitors you can have at your home will reduce to five. Outside the home, fam...ilies and friends can meet in groups up to ten. As weve seen across the world, this virus has the ability to turn a few cases into hundreds in a matter of days. Thats why we also need to delay an increase to gathering limits in businesses and community facilities. That means restaurants, pubs, auction halls, community halls, libraries, museums and places of worship will all stay at a maximum of 20 people in any one space until 12 July. Businesses that were set to open on Monday like gyms, cinemas, theatres and TABs can do so but again, only with a maximum of 20.
14.01.2022 BREAKING: Circuit Breaker lockdown to end at 11:59pm. There’ll no longer be four reasons to leave home. The five-kilometre restriction will no longer apply. Pr...ivate gatherings: Up to 5 visitors can visit a home in a day (infants under 12 months are not counted in the cap). Visitors may be from any number of households and may visit either together or separately. Front and backyards are considered part of the home. Public gatherings: Up to 20 people can gather outdoors from any number of households, infants under 12 months are not included in the cap. FACE MASKS: Must be carried at all times. Mandatory when inside (except in a residential home) and outdoors when cannot maintain 1.5m physical distancing (unless a lawful exemption applies). Strongly recommended to wear when visitors attend your home. For more information - https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/ Or you can call the hotline on 1800 675 398.

Beach car parks and boardwalks remain open at this time, however their access will be reviewed as required. Thank you for your continued understanding and patience as we all endeavour to stop the spread of coronavirus. #FrankstonCity #Covid19 #FlattenTheCurve
13.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE: stage 4 restrictions will apply across all of Victoria from 11.59pm tonight until 11.59pm on Wed, 17 Feb. For the first time in Australia, we... are now dealing with the new UK strain: a hyper-infectious variant that is moving at hyper speed. On the advice of the health experts, Victoria will put in place a short sharp circuit breaker for 5 days. We are going hard and we’re going early. Just as they did in Brisbane and Perth. From 11.59pm tonight there will be FOUR reasons to leave home: shopping for essential supplies care and caregiving and medical exercise essential workers (see comments) Exercise and shopping will be limited to a 5km radius from your home. Face masks must be worn indoors and outdoors (whenever you leave home). no visitors to your home no public gatherings no weddings no religious gatherings no school (except for essential workers) no TAFE, uni gyms, pools, community centres, entertainment venues, libraries will close no new hotel bookings non-essential retail will close (including personal care, hair, beauty) no dining in at cafes and restaurants no visitors to hospitals, aged care or other residential facility settings What will stay open: childcare and kinders will stay open essential stores will remain open - supermarkets, pharmacies, post office, news agent, vehicle repair, bakery, fruit store, bank, take away only at cafes and restaurants playgrounds will remain open funerals up to ten people By limiting our movement, we limit the potential spread of this new strain of the virus. Victoria, this is not easy. We’ve done this before. We will get through this. I’ll continue to update as more information comes to hand. And follow the advice. The website will be updated shortly https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covidsafe-su
13.01.2022 Heres your quick guide to whats changed: Weve come such a long way and now were able to make a few changes. And its only because so many Victorians follo...wed the advice that weve got the information and the confidence we need to take these steps. But theres still a way to go. We still need everyone to use common sense and continue working from home wherever possible. If you can work from home, you must continue working from home. We simply cant have millions of trips on public transport every single day and maintain anything like the safe distancing we need. And if everyone hopped in the car and drove to work instead, our road network would be at a standstill. Limiting the number of people moving around the state means were able to cautiously ease restrictions and get back to a few more of the things weve all been missing.
11.01.2022 Thank you Paul Edbrooke for this boost to our club! We are grateful to have such excellent support from our local member. We’re gearing up to launch our season in a COVID-Safe manner and this will be put to great use

09.01.2022 Here’s the latest update on coronavirus business support and restrictions from midnight tonight. We are seeing the results of all the hard work of every Victori...an. As we keep working towards COVID Normal, we’ve got to do everything we can to support people’s jobs so that we can come through this pandemic is strong as possible. And as we see the hard work paying off, it also gives us an opportunity to change the way we’re living in safe and cautious steps. We’ve come so far, but we need to keep going. From midnight tonight, we’ll see some modest and safe easing of the restrictions with step 1. Social bubbles will start, allowing those living alone or single parents to have one other person in their home. Exercise is extended to two hours split over a maximum of two sessions, and you will be able to use that time outside for social interaction with one other person or the members of your household. Playgrounds and outdoor fitness equipment reopen, libraries will be able to open for contactless click and collect and the curfew will begin at 9pm as Melbourne moves into warmer months. And religious services can be conducted outside with a maximum of five people, plus a faith leader. Also from today, Victoria’s State of Emergency and State of Disaster declarations have been renewed for another four weeks, ending at 11.59pm on 11 October 2020. This will ensure that we can keep driving down case numbers and slowing the spread of this virus. Ensuring that all the hard won gains we’ve all achieved won’t be in vain. Also announced today was an extra $3 billion in cash grants, tax relief and cashflow support for Victorian businesses. We all have to do everything that we can to save lives, but we also need to do everything we can to save jobs and livelihoods. For more information on the updates to restrictions: https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/road-towards-covid-normal Additional details about support for businesses will also be made available at: www.business.vic.gov.au And if you’d like to support more local businesses then take a look here: https://www.visitvictoria.com/clickforvic
09.01.2022 Its great to have the Frankston Pier open again! Massive thanks to Parks Vic and the State Government for repairing such an iconic part of Frankston! Paul Edbrooke MP
09.01.2022 Please see this update from Frankston City Council Frankston City Council Pandemic Plan To combat Coronavirus, Premier Daniel Andrews has declared that Victoria... will enter a State of Emergency at midday today (16 March). This State of Emergency will last four weeks and provide the Chief Health Office powers to enforce 14-day isolation requirements for all travellers entering the country and cancel mass gatherings of more than 500 people. Like all Victorian councils, Frankston City Council has a Pandemic Plan in place and it is likely the State of Emergency will activate this plan. Frankston City Council Mayor, Sandra Mayer, said Council had recently conducted an extensive review of this plan, the overarching Municipal Emergency Management Plan and its Business Continuity Plan. Following these reviews, we are confident we are well-prepared for a pandemic, Cr Mayer said. To protect the wellbeing and safety of patrons, staff, vendors and the community, organisers have cancelled the 2020 Waves and Wheels Film Festival, which was planned for March 27-29 on Frankston Beach. Steps have been taken to ensure Meals on Wheels operates as usual but there may be some changes to Maternal and Child Health non-critical services. The Mayor said the health of the Frankston City community was Councils priority. As I said, we will continue to update residents as this situation develops and further information comes to hand. The Department of Health and Human Services has released the following good hygiene advice to limit the spread of Coronavirus: - Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. - Throw your tissue in to a plastic-lined rubbish bin after use. - If you dont have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow. Do not use your hands. - Wash your hands regularly with soap and water including after you cough or sneeze, before preparing or eating food and after going to the toilet. - Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth as germs spread this way. If you suspect you may have the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), please call the dedicated hotline on 1800 675 398.

02.01.2022 BREAKING: Today the Premier announced our staged FOUR STEP plan to COVID normal. When Melbourne was in Stage 3 restrictions, it was taking an average of 49 day...s to cut our number of cases in half. In Stage 4, were doing it in just 18. At the same time, the expert modelling tells us that even with that enormous effort were likely to be averaging around 60 cases a day by next weekend. For reference, last time we eased restrictions, we were averaging around 10 a day. If we go too far too soon, the modelling also tells us wed be on track for a third wave by mid-November. These are safe and steady and sustainable steps so we dont enter a third wave. Theres a lot to take in many of your questions will be answered on the website www.vic.gov.au/roadmap and if theyre not, I will work to answer them over coming days. Heres a summary of the FOUR STEPS for Metropolitan Melbourne areas including Frankston and Mornington Peninsula. Stage 4 restrictions will continue for an extra two weeks, from September 13 to September 28, with some changes: FIRST STEP, from September 13: social bubble for people living along and single parents two hours of exercise per day curfew extended to 9pm SECOND STEP, from September 28 (and if case numbers are less than 30-50 new cases on average per day): 100,000 workers back to work (landscape gardeners and maintenance workers who work alone; construction (85%), manufacturing(90%)) Childcare (without permits) sessional kindergarten will resume on 5 October Outdoor gatherings of up to five people SCHOOLS: on-site learning will resume on 5 October for VCE/VCAL for GAT and on 12 October for prep to grade 2 and specialist schools. Grades 3 to 10 students will continue remotely until a date is determined. THIRD STEP, from 26 October, (and if case numbers are less than 5 new cases on average per day): most gatherings and workplaces will re-open retail and outdoor hospitality will return hairdressers will re-open community sport, phased return curfew will lift no restrictions on leaving home gatherings of 10 people outdoors and 5 at home weddings (up to 10 guests) recreational activities (golf, fishing, boating and hunting), subject to review on earlier re-opening FINAL STEP, from 23 November: public gatherings up to 50, with 20 at home covid-normal The University of Melbourne and the University of New England have undertaken significant modelling to inform this approach. I understand therell be some people wholl be disappointed, those who wanted more and sooner. But these are the steady and sustainable steps that our health experts tell us will see us out of this safely. This roadmap is about making sure we stay one step ahead of the virus and making sure we dont have to take another backwards step. We all want this to be over. But for this to be over, we each have to find it in ourselves to keep going just a little bit longer. Thank you
